DragonFlyer 329 November 3, 2015 Share November 3, 2015 Actually, Fluttershy's relationship with Angel reminds me of the way my mom treats her little dog Haylee. She's a total "spoiled princess"! She sings to her, tells her she's royalty and gives in to her demands - and she is very demanding. I know, I know - she's a dog who trained a human instead of the other way around. But she's also 17 years young and a lovebug, my mom never gets irritated with her, even when she's barking non-stop for a treat, because she loves her so much. She's family. Cimarronboy 250 November 4, 2015 Share November 4, 2015 It is definitely an emotional attatchment, whether instinctually driven or otherwise, that causes the near indestructable bond between Shy and that sled bait. Small cute and helpless is a survival tactic, and you don't need to be a total angel bunny to change that view of you. Yeah he does sometimes uses his villainous behavior in a supportive way, but that doesn't excuse him for being that way toward her, especially when he can change her view of him in other ways. But, IMO, it's just another case of pet owner putting up w crap from their pet. Sometimes I want to bury my sister alive, but it doesn't changes the fact that I love her and because of this, we tolerate each other despite having moments when we've done each other wrong. You forgive and move on. She's also too kind to throw out the bunny she's been seen with for so long. Angel can be a d*ck, I will not deny that, but at times his bossy and bold nature balances her out and encourages her to do things that she wouldn't decide to do on her own. Castle Bleck 19,512 November 12, 2015 Share November 12, 2015 Echoing Officer Killjoy's sentiment, to add as well, he also seems to be the one that is able to push Fluttershy into the direction she needs to go. In today's episode, would Fluttershy have gone to the lengths she did to scare her friends if Angel didn't direct or push her to those lengths? Today's episode was actually one of Angel's best performances in the series. Angel may be a bit pushy at times, but he still has Fluttershy's best interests at heart, and obviously cares for her. Just look at his behavior in Ponyville Confidential; one thing you do not do is make Fluttershy cry! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghYkRi3BgiE If you look at everything Angel does throughout the entire show, you'll see that he's nice to Fluttershy at least as often as he's mean to her. He's not nearly as bad as the fans make him out to be. There are like two or three episodes where he's a jerk, and the rest of the time he's tolerable or even helpful.
