Theory Does Princess Celestia even care about the Mane 6?

You have to remember, Celestia is OLD. She was alive during Starswirl's time. She & Luna fought Discord, then Luna went insane & was banished. Then, Celestia ruled alone for 1000 years. So, she is at least 1100 years old (give or take) & could be a lot older.

 

Why is this important? It means that pretty much everyone she ever spoke to is dead. Those who are still living are a statistically insignificant exception to that rule & in a century (or less) they will be dead, too.

 

So, to keep from going crazy, she has had to learn not to grow too attached to anyone. She cares about Twilight because she won't lose Twilight to old age. (Yes, Lauren said otherwise. Lauren isn't with the show anymore, so what she said ain't necessarily so)

 

So, yes, she doesn't care as much about the rest of the Mane 6 as she cares about Twilight.

Sure I don't see why she wouldn't. But Twilight has known her for almost all of her life so they're bound to be closer and have more of a mother-daughter relationship. She cares about all of her subjects, she's just closer to some more than others.

 

It's like if you're friends with someone, you're going to care more about them than their other friends, even if you happen to be friends with them too. 

 

I feel like Luna cares way less than Celestia does.

Celestia most certainly cares about Twilight. That's for sure. 

 

However, Twilight's friends are a different story. 

 

Ever since Magical Mystery Cure, I've been under the impression that she doesn't really care about them much at all outside of the role they play in advancing Twilight's destiny. I still have to wonder whether or not Celestia was aware of the fact that Twilight failed Starswirl's spell the first time and altered the mane five's destinies. But if she was, she certainly didn't lift a single hoof to help simply because she wanted Twilight to figure it out herself so that she could become a princess. The mane five were simply pawns to trigger Twilight's ascension.  :okiedokielokie:

 

If you want more proof, there's also Party Pooped. Though Pinkie was the one who deserved all the praise for the fact that a pony-yak war would not take place, Celestia still wasted no time giving Twilight all the praise while sorting Pinkie under "[her] friends", as though implying that she did not do any more or any less work than the rest of the mane five.  :okiedokielokie:

Thanks for bringing that episode up, which brings up yet another problem. Now it seems as if Princess Celestia just cares too much about Twilight. It was clearly Pinkie that travelled across Equestria make ONE party a success and stopped a war, but nope, she just sits there all like "yuh thenx Twaahlaaght".

 

Now many bronies say she does reward the Mane 6. With what, Gala tickets? A party that Derpy got tickets to? So far the only proper treatment they really got was when Rarity got to stay in Canterlot. I hope this is building up to an alicorn transformation because if the series ends with them as regular ponies, Celestia will be the one not cared about...
