friendship games Is there more for Sunset Shimmer back in Equestria?

Looking at the deleted scenes from the Friendship games, Sunny explains to Twi that she misses the magic of Equestria; the monsters, the CHALLENGE of overcoming evil and such. And she dislikes the mundane the human world offers, as seen when she was expecting the Friendship Games to be something magical and more important than just a shool competition.

 

So can we try to put bias and headcanon aside, and look at facts and future of the EQG/FiM franchise in order to see whether there really is more advantage in Sunny returning to Equestria, or is it more advantageous for her to remain where she is, in the human world?

 

Given the facts from both the deleted scene and an early scene in the actual movie, with the dialoge in the library, along with taking tge future of the franchise into consideration, hoping DHX can keep things fresh and not so samey between FiM and EQG, I'd say that there is, in fact, more for Sunset back in her own world.

 

Where FiM centers on Twilight coming to experience friendship, later to become a princess of it, and teach it to others with her friends, bringing Sunset back to Equestria could explore the struggles of leaving all your friends behind, and picking up where you left off in a new (or old and familiar) place, and going it alone, starting friendships from scratch, or rebuilding bridges with past familiar faces who you formerly turned away.

 

For EQG, this could lead into story that shows the alt 5 coping with the going away of their friend, but still trying to remain united, and discovering that even with Sunny taking the Equestrian magic back to Equestria, a new, long dormant type of friendship magic specific to the human world remains, and has re-emerged, only evident ofter the foreign magic left. And they could also get SciTwi familiar with the more natural magic from their world, maybe inadverdently waking some dormant creature that Starswirl had sealed in the earth, only with presence of Equestrian magic?

 

Much potential, i think, for both franchises, if Sunny, Equestrian magic, (and the Sirens) return from whence they came.

I agree with this headcanon. I would love to see sunset return to Equestria and interact with her old teacher celestia and of course how this would effect the alt 5. This would also teach children to cope with the departure of a friend.

it's not a headcanon, so much as its my trying to use reason and foresight to see what could be best to continue each franchise, and offer fresh lessons

Hopefully! i really enjoyed her character and i honestly don't think that she would mind going back to equestria and there would definitely be an awesome plot line somewhere in there!

I agree with this.

But I also like the idea that Sunset could travel between the worlds. I guess it would help her to study the differences between the magic in Equestira and the one in the human world in a better way.

I think we've seen enough foreshadowing that Sunny might wish to return to Equestria. Not only that, but I totally expect a FiM episode guess starring her someday. If she's going to stay or realize she now belong to the human world, we have to see, but I personally hope for the later

They need to get Flash Sentry more involved with episodes. Sunset Shimmer is the main protagonist in Equestria Girls she gets enough screen time there anyway and she represents that world more.
