What the heck is the appeal in Trixie?

I honestly thought Trixie was a great antagonist. She was so annoying and full of herself, which made the viewers dislike her. Fantastic trait for a villain character if you say so myself.

I honestly hope they bring her back as just some sort of ridiculous recurring antagonist ;)

HOLD IT!.........

*"The Fragrance of Dark Coffee" starts to play*

Sorry about that.

Anyway, my appeal in Trixie is because she plays the antagonist role, and we all know that all bad guys are badass. Trixie's a boaster and has huge ego and speaks in third person, these are all lovable traits because she's the only one in the show who has those characteristics. Dr. Doom has been known to speek in third person and to have an enormous ego, and is recalled to be Marvel's ultimate badass.

*sips coffee*

Also, she is known to be a traveling entertainer, I'm sure she needs a gimmick to attract a crowd.

Now then, how do you like your coffee? Lots of sugar right? Or was it lots of cream?

Or dare I say both......

Dont' know don't care, trixie is a meaningless character to me who really doesn't need to ever be in another episode, but if someone else likes her...whatever

I've looked and have been unable to find a topic like this one, but I've never really been good at looking for things... Either way, here goes: It seems to me that a lot of people really like The Great and Powerful Trixie, and I've never understood why. She was featured in a total of One episode, and she was a show-offy B-otch the whole time. And a liar, don't forget about her lying. I would just like to know why so many people like her, when I can see nothing to like?

I think everyone like her 'cause she's a bit nasty, pretentious and different kind of character than others.

Way ahead of you; we already had a thread asking users what was the appeal in Trixie and why people like her a whole lot, so I merged them. :)

Maybe because she's problaby the only antagonist that was a pony.

What about Flim and Flam? They're antagonists... They're ponies...

And honesty I like them more than Trixie...

EDIT: oops, I didn't see your other replies...

I read a fan fic that makes me want to kill Trixie, its called "The Piano Man". It shows screwed up Trixie by enslaving a human pianist to perform for easy money.

Oh my. I wouldn't put that below her at all. I mean, she was about to do that to Snips & Snails if they hadn't wanted her to prove herself.

Imo, she's just a more comical villain than anything. You know, because she's the great and powerful Trixie!

I mean, if that's okay with you...

Um, didn't you hear? Trixie's taken down an URSA MAJOR!!!! A frikin' URSA MAJOR!!!!!!

Indeed. If not for Trixie's incredible and stupendous magical talents, I ask you: where would Hoofington be today?

Well, okay, Hoofington would still be in the same place.

But still, without Trixie to defend it, Hoofington would be a lot more chewed up, and have giant bear tracks everywhere.

That is, if Trixie had actually vanquished an Ursa Major, and all...

I don't see Trixie's appeal either. I mean, I think I can see why other enjoy her, but I just can't understand it.

Same here. I just can´t understand why people like a pony with such a personality like her. I think everypony knows what i mean. *is dodging the stones*

Can be summed up in one word:

Fanwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank

Alright, in all seriousness, it's mostly because she's a one-dimensional character. She's established to be a bitch, and that is the only character trait that carries her through the episode. Essentially, she doesn't have a preconceived character, so we can make her out to be whatever kind of character we want.

Also, Trixie porn is best porn.

HALLELUJAH TO YOU! Trixie's in one episode, she's a jerk and a bully, and humiliates the mane six. And people want to ship her with Twilight and make her appear as this sexy, attractive character. I apologize to anyone who's attracted to ponies, but I seriously don't think it's healthy to be attracted to a pony, especially not a one time antagonist.

Trixie can't and won't develop more, she probably won't be appearing again, and it really is time to move on.

Well, I wouldn't really say attracted. I mean, if I saw a clip of Trixie, just as she appeared in the show, I don't really feel anything.

It's just the porn, really.

  • 1 year later...

"The greatest equine who has ever lived."
I remember Trixie saying she was "the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria" roughly three-and-a-half minutes into the episode and "the best in Ponyville" roughly five minutes in, but not "the greatest equine who ever lived". She challenges the Ponyvillians to try to one-up her. "Any takers? Anyone? Or is Trixie destined to be the greatest equine who has ever lived?" That doesn't really seem like she's calling herself "the greatest equine who has ever lived". Her use of the word "destined" makes me think she doesn't think of herself that way during the episode, but rather she thinks that she has the potential to be the greatest equine who has ever lived. That's not really boasting, more like unrealistic expectations.

Could somepony please explain why her color scheme is appealing? Is it because it somehow contrasts with Twilight's?

What the hell bumping a 1 1/2 year thread? Well, now that I'm giving a chance to speak on the matter, I'd say the reason Trixie is so BA is cause of that color scheme and she makes an excellent rival for Twilight Sparkle since they're pretty much opposites in every way. I hope we see her again in Season 4  :(

Trixie is endearingly over-the-top and boisterous. It's hard not to enjoy her arrogant showboating.

I like the idea that she's more curmudgeonly than outright evil; She has a bit of a nice side, but it's easy to miss under all that self-aggrandizing and scoffing she does. Her attempt to make amends at the end of Magic Duel does show a bit of complexity.

Either way, whenever she's onscreen, she never fails to totally steal the show! I'm hoping we get to see her again sometime.

I know this a super old thread by the looks of it. But Trixie from the episodes she has been in have brought forth a lot of character development to her. I see her in the light that she had a troubled past and grew up with hard things to deal with. And how she is now is how she knows how to survive in the world. Honestly makes you feel for her a lot and you know what I mean if you have seen both episodes.

We still don't know anything about the circumstances Trixie grew up with, so I don't see any reason to assume she had a troubled past up til Boast Busters. She certainly had troubles after the Ursa Minor crushed her house and she became a laughing stock, though, so I give her some woobie points there. She also managed to accrue quite a lot of bits to buy the amulet, so props to her for working hard (unless she knocked over a bank or something) I still don't like her, but perhaps I dislike her a little less in light of the hardship she endured after the events of Boast Busters.

I wonder if she'll be in Season 4?

Honestly! Why do a bunch of people like Trixie? 1. She is only in 1 episode. 2. She is a liar, a boaster and a jerk overall. 3. And most of all she attacked any of the Mane 6 who stepped up to show there productive skills. Anyway yeah. I don't see the appeal in this pony.

THESE are a few of my favorite things (Sings!)

a liar, a boaster, a jerk, i mean she's a fiend.  how do you not like her?
