What made you sad/ angry/ negative emotion today?

I ruminated for a while over romance again and how I absolutely don't understand it or even know if I want it.  If I have to think about it this hard, is it really worth thinking about at all?

Girl what is with the massive waitlists on these subscription book boxes. My position on the waitlist for Moonlight Subscription box is in the 5700's. Going by this the estimate I'll get an invite by the end of spring next year like what. Fairyloot is over a year behind on sending their invites out for the US. With invites being sent out currently to people who signed up in September of 2024. World knows how many years will pass before I get my invite from them. I don't know where I'm at on Owlcrate's, The Arcane Society, The Book Cove, The Locked Library or The Bookish box wait lists. I'm on the waitlist to have my illumicrate upgraded to the combo. If I manage to get emailed by at least Owlcrate I'll be dropping my Book Of The Month subscription for it. I want at least two.

I cannot wait until this Tiktok trend of  just buying books because of pretty edges to sit on the shelf and never read dies so those of us that actually want to read these books can. I gotta sit here and pray that I will even get the opportunity to touch Owlcrates upcoming Bride and Mate rereleases when those drop next month as subscribers get first dibs. A lot of times they don't make it past subscribers only. Since Illumicrates sold out fast (I'm on their waitlist for that if people hopefully will decide to cancel those for Owlcrates version instead. Although from what comments I've been seeing people are planning on buying and keep both sets without ever reading them so. I'm not hopeful about my odds of getting my hands on these unless Owlcrate blesses me with a subscription between now and November which would give me early access. Which I'm not too hopeful about.)

I could buy the normal editions but I want the fun colorful edge books too. I want them to read.

What helps me is not to obsess over romance, but … hmm… how do I put this…. I remember! Obsess over someone before  the idea of romance  . Why worry if that person doesn’t exist in our lives, now or ever? I suppose we know there can’t not be plenty of people like that so the uncertainty is what gets us. Will I get to know them ever or not?

Also what helps is making the most out of the friendships we have than trying to ask for more from of a relationship we don’t have. Basically, who needs it when I’ve got you or you guys  ?

But understandably, we do yearn for something a little extra than friendship sometimes. That more permanent bond, the trust, the degree of closeness.

Indeed! There's just nobody to obsess over right now and I don't know where I'd even find anybody (and my parents would kill me if I tried online dating, not that it seems very safe anyways). I have also come to realize that I almost sort of dread the idea of romance since I'm one of those people that has to be practically best friends with a guy before I can even consider them attractive (even then, I have some close guy friends who I consider just friends. I might've been interested in at least one guy, but eh, I've overthought it so much that I'm probably not.).

That's what I try to focus on, too!  I definitely appreciate your friendship and all the other friendships I have here and offline!

It's one of those things I almost wish I didn't experience in some capacity before because once I had that sort of feeling, it's hard to not have it if it goes away. But I can live without it if I have to.

I found out through a Blu-ray.com forum post that Shout Factory may not be around in the physical media business for much longer.

This is bad news to me because they were the company who released Hasbro shows on DVD and I was really hoping that they'd release the complete series of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic on Blu-ray for its 15th anniversary, but it looks like they're not going to do that. Hopefully Discotek Media can pick up the licensing to release Hasbro shows on Blu-ray so that they can release it.

I have thoughts. I joined this book related site due to a friend. I don’t necessarily fit in with some of these bougie book readers. Like sure I’ve got some nice books but I’m committed to my Diary Of A Wimpy Kid book bingeing. Which other than my friend people don’t bother to like those updates of books I’ve read anymore. Which is fine. I’m not reading these to impress other people. It’s for me. I been putting myself out there trying to interact with people.

It’s not been going very well. Ra forbid I want to read a children’s book series. The judgement is real but I still try. Especially because my list of favorite books are outdated. I’ve only recently got back into reading. So yes those were my favorite books from ages ago. I’m sure once I start on these more recently released books I’ll update those. From what I could remember I really liked those.

Anyway I’m currently being negged to death for two reasons. One for having an opinion on not liking a certain series. Which is fine. If people want to be upset that I don’t like a certain book series they can go ahead. It’s not gonna make me like it lol. 

The second reason however is because of my friend. She decided to come for me for my post saying how I left a lot social media sites due to how toxic the atmosphere is. Anyway she went on this long winded rant on how toxic people have always existed before the internet. Which has resulted in another sea of negs to my post and upvotes to hers. Which lead to her dm’ing me on discord being like maybe I shouldn’t have done that 💀 

I just deleted my account. I’m going to make a new one but just for me to keep track of what I’m reading because it’s a good site for that purpose. I really don’t need to be dealing with that sort of toxic nonsense.
