gaming Is Pokemon Sun and Moon the end of the franchise?

(If anyone hasn't watched Lockstin and Bird Keeper Toby's latest collaboration video, which is 45ish minutes long, then I advise you all to watch. )

Much evidence are brought up as to show how the gen 1 all the way to gen 7 all comes together, story wise, and will conclude Pokemon in its entirety, before it gets a reboot. It's scary just how much it all made sense, and just how much religious and occultist stuff revolves around the story from the very beginning (for me, at least). It's mind blowing to see when it's all tied together, and hard to fathom it's end, at the same time.

What do you guys think? Have you seen the video made by Lockstin? Is Sun and Moon the final chapter? Are you looking forward to the reboot of the franchise?

I Believe that's not true at all. There's a lot more stuff they can do. Every new generation of pokemon will be released and They will get harder as well. If I mean by they, i mean by Nintendo and the pokemon company. It's a theory made by the person you mentioned, but it's not true at all. Pokemon games won't end there, but it will keep going.

Absolutely not. As long as the franchise makes money, Nintendo/TPC will keep making games. Besides there's no reason to end the series

Wait, does the OP mean the games or the show?

I am pretty sure the OP is talking about the games.

But than again once the games are done selling, the anime is pretty much done for anyways.

So I feel like it can apply to both.

Well I hope not for the games, for the show dear God I hope so! That show is in desperate need of a reboot!

I don't think it will be the end, especially with pokemon go releasing! I'm sure they will maybe link both together in the future :)! Would be cool to be able to get /some really rare or shiny versions of pokemon in Go and then transfer it via poke bank or something to the cartridge version!

Definitely not.  It'd be like ending Sonic, he makes cash and kids still are crazy about him.  So there'd be no point in ending a long running and very important character like him.  Plus, Pokemon doesn't seem like it could really end itself, each region has its own tale to tell.  As long as there is creativity and interest in it, Pokemon will live on.

I just can't see it'll happen to Pokemon at all. This is coming from someone who stops playing Pokemon and knows it can never be buried. Nintendo/GameFreak makes money off it as long tons of people are buying the games everytime. I know other games than Pokemon exist but still Sun and Moon won't be the last.

I heard Digimon has over 1,000 digital creatrures so if anything I think the Pokemon side can find a way to add and save more unknown creatures for unplanned future Pokemon games

Lol! Hell no it ain't! With Nintendo, if it prints money, they'll continue spinning the same old song again and again. I didn't watch the video because it's 45 minutes long, but I doubt I'd be convinced.

The reason pokemon is marketing how everything comes together is because the fans who grew up with the series are entering adulthood. This is a critical time for the franchise where they want to appeal to both old fans and new fans to create a generational bridge. Something to bring pokemon to a similar timeless status as Mario that can bring the family together. And a really easy target to pique old fans interests is nostalgia or the hopes of nostalgia. Play the original games, then send them to SM. Come see how much has improved in 20 years. Quite the draw.

And also, missingno must be the last pokemon in the Dex before they're done. Until I see missingno legitimately as a pokemon and not a glitch, they're not done.

I personally consider the anime to be something of a guilty pleasure.

Plus the battles and animation for the current saga have been really great.

As long as we can get battles like this:

and this:

the show is at least doing something right.

Personally I would recommend the mega evolution act episodes.

Besides that things are looking good for Ash finally winning the pokemon league this time around.

Maybe if we are lucky he will finally be replaced with a new protagonist for the next saga.

Right, but shows, even and perhaps especially kids shows need to be more than flash and spectacle.

ANY genuine change in the formula is welcome but seems too far in between at this point.

That's exactly what I hope for. I want to see a sequel series where Ash is some legendary figure that inspires the next generation. You know, seeing that my childhood hero actually had some consequences to his adventures instead of being caught in an endless limbo.

That's not gonna happen. Ash is always the main character of the anime series. The creators of the anime will never replace him. As of the league goes, it all depends on how well he can do in this current league.

I honestly don't see why they would stop now. I mean, it's still making money, isn't it? And they still have a whole lot to do with it.
