I think that is the character Sia is playing. Her team tweeted a picture of the same pony with the caption "Here's Sia as Songbird Serenade." Not really sure what else that could mean.

While I realize that's not a hippo, it is possible that for some reason the Queen of the hippos is a pony. Not really sure how, but signs are pointing to this being her character.

Yeah, not a fan of her either.

 

But that's apparently what the singer looks line in real life and she's based on that.

from what I heard they ended that reading by saying "meghan gave us the wrong script", implying the entire scene was basically a gag fakeout.

Hmm, so Songbird Serenade is another pop star in the vein of Countess Coloratura? Just like RaRa=Lady Gaga, Songbird=Sia. Except this time the character is actually voiced by their real-life counterpart.

 

Well, I'm not a big fan of Sia or anything, but she can sure sing. Plus, she gave us Titanium, which gave us I Am Octavia.

I think that she will be similar to Gazelle from Zootopia and end up playing a minor role in the story and singing a song sometime in the movie or credits or whatever and that is about it.

Probably just there to have a famous celebrity to draw audience interest into the film.

One thing of note, you'll notice that her Cutie mark is 6 rainbow colored symbols arranged in a circlular shape that's similar to Twilight's cutie mark.

Now, I know its been a LONG time since they were leaked, but the original script for the movie had the mane six being gathered together at canterlot by celestia for some sort of celebration of the six of them for their heroics, yeah?

I'm betting she'll be a pony pop star that was there for the celebration, and will just exist for a closing song celebrating the mane six at the end after the day is saved and they finally go through with said celebration, with her Cutie mark being designed to symbolize the mane six for when they do the final closing musical number.
