Do You Want MLP to Address More Serious Issues? Which? How?

There is really no need to put that sort of thing into the show. The primary goal of the show (other than to shift toy units) is to teach kids lessons in friendship and interpersonal relationships. Going into drugs and alcohol... its too heavy too soon.

I'd say the show tacitly endorses drinking. Only instead of beer, it's cider. Regular Show does the same thing with soda. Know what I mean? No effin' way that's soda.

I don't think that would go over too well with all them parents out there who's children watch the show. Wouldn't be a very good example for them to see all of their favourite characters wrecking their bodies.

No I don't think it should have smoking or drinking as this show is supposed to be for little children and if you thought that the Derpy dilemma was bad, just imagine what soccermoms would say/do if they saw one of the mane 6 smoking.....curse at the thought.

The rules on alcohol in children's programming are very strict. Unless it's something grandfathered like old time Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry cartoons, we're not going to see it in a Y rated program. With that said, the cider certainly appears to be addicting. So too do salt blocks that ponies like to lick. Remember the drunk pony that got kicked out of the saloon after he had enough?

 

EDIT: Almost forgot...I actually like the fact that, for whatever reason, the ponies seem to have never discovered smoking!

my little pony is meant to be a show about friendship and love. its an innocent show but not only do we watch it but LITTLE GIRLS do to so if they put things that are bad such as smoking and drinking it will reflect badly on the kids and reflect badly on the shows history and the message it sends * /) if you agree

And the cider from Speedy Squeezy Cider served in beer mugs. They hint out smoking and drinking but will always be padded for kid's view. I wouldn't want to see any of the real stuff on MLP. Not even any cheesy PSA versions. :/

thers alot of drinking jokes hidden in the show i mean apple jack and apple tini are types of drinks the foming apple cider .... berry punch ... the spike spiking the punch joke ... oh and spike asking for more and more donunts in the gala episod like a drunk person...

The show may be straying from it's child-oriented base, but not so far they would sow something like that in it. The farthest it'll go is maybe showing a drunk pony, but not the actual drinking.

This is a prime example of why Bronies should never be allowed to write an episode of MLP. No offense to anyone, but the Bronies would completely ruin the show with idiotic ideas like this. My Little Pony is a kid's show. It should remain that way. We don't need to bring up mature subjects in a kids show, there's just no point.

Honestly, that's a STUPID question to ask.

First off, this is a kids show.. sure us teens and adults see it, but the show would really be horrible if that was involved.. plus it would really ruin it.

2nd of all, it would be a whole new Rating.. it would be on like adult swim or something instead of being on the Hub.. and like i said, its meant to be a kids show and will ONLY be a kids show.. no ifs or butts about it.

 

The only thing closests to drinking is Apple Cider, but that seems appropriate, so keeping at that is just fine, now the other thing is completely stupid.. it would send a NEGATIVE message saying that its okay to smoke and all that dumb crap, plus it would be a horrible influence on kids, especially those that are going through alot of things in their life, and they really don't need it.

So everything is fine as it is, and will always stay that way.

Those are just my 2 cents.

Cider is enough to get any pony "intoxicated", imagine what alcohol could do to them lol. It would be mayhem and the show would lose it's touch.

 

Also, yeah, I'm pretty sure we don't need any more drug PSAs, right Pee Wee?

I don't think a kids cartoon, especially My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic, will even consider adding smoking or drinking. There was only one time when there was a reference (but it was pretty harmless) where Pinkie Pie said: "Look's like the punch has been... 'Spiked'", after Spike fell (if I recall correctly) asleep and landed in a cup. I think puns like that are fine, and pretty funny too.

They already make references to drinking in the show (Spike "spiking" the drink,calling Applejack "Appletini" and so on and so forth).There's no need to actually show either drinking or smkoing in the show.It'd ruin the innocence of the entire show.

 

If people want to see them smoking or drinking or indulging in other...shall I say,primal desires,then they can simply read fanfics.Or watch that Tiarawhy (or whatever the name is) for that last one.

No, I don't think that kinda thing should be in the show if it's direct. Noticed how I said "direct". I mean, the closest thing I saw to alcohol was the Super Cider Squeezy episode, and alot of fans seems to reference the cider to alcohol. (Judging by fan art and such.) also, there was a salt bar of a pony looking intoxicated almost. Not to mention "The punch has been spiked" joke. So, I guess subtle references are fine.

 

Basic point, it shouldn't be anything that closely resembles beer or anything like that. Could be bad for the rep. of MLP if certain people see it.

Cider is farthest. That's where it is gonna stay. Kid friendly shows will not have drinking nor smoking, as that puts a bad infulince on kids to make them think its good.

 

Also, the viewing rate would change drastically.
