Did the writers just completely forget about Flurry Heart?

Or are they just trying hard to forget about her like I am? I would think that Flurry Heart being the main attraction of the first episode to start this season should at least be getting cameos throughout the season and maybe an episode or two. Sure I hate the idea of another alicorn but doesn't seem right to not include her after they went all this trouble to introduce her and make a big deal about it.

Doing something related to that baby only increases the fandom's hate for Flurry Heart so we got off easy so far. Ever since the little Alicorn came she's been nothing but a waste in that regard only to introduce her to the toy aisles everywhere. It's nothing against the little one but honestly, I forget about her too. Plot-device? we'll see.

Well since the fandom responded negatively towards her from inception, they are damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they use her, people will complain, if they don't use her, people will complain.

Did they forget about her?  One can only hope!  If I never saw that sniveling piece crap again, I'd be sound as a pound.

But really, even if they wanted to feature her a lot, how much could they really do, considering she can't talk?  Maybe they should just make her like Stewie Griffin.  (Joking, but it would increase my liking of her if they did.  They'd have to make her just as vulgar and everything.)

Like one of those characters who are important in one episode then irrelevant for the rest of the series,I sincerely hope so.But knowing them they'll probably bring her back later but I hope they don't because I don't want another situation that has a baby nearly killing off an entire race and naming her after that incident only adds fuel to the fire, like seriously what were they thinking naming a baby after what could have been a genocide.

Seeing as how she can't talk, I never really thought she would have that big of a role in the show anyways.

Plus at least unlike what happened to Flash Sentry, seeing how the entire season was completed before people brought out their vitriolic hatred, the fandom didn't have an effect on her very little screentime.

I was really thinking we would see some kind of episodes involving her. Where the hell is an episode of Twilight being with her? Or anything else like that? It really makes me hate the character even more because now that the season is drawing near its close, it makes me think Flurry exists for two things: Toys and plot-device. It bothers me because I wasn't entirely against the idea of her, despite the alicorn thing, but now I just see her as a completely worthless addition.

She can't talk, she's a baby, and she lives in the Crystal Empire, which we rarely see. I think she's had about as much screen time as can be expected of her, and I'm fine with that, since it gives time for other stories. Besides, she has just the right number of appearances for maximum adorableness.

And I don't see the issue with that. She's a one-time character who has no significant impact on the main characters. Even if she only exists to sell toys, her few appearances have been in really good episodes where she's been totally adorable.

It's kind of funny, before the season premiered, I mostly saw people complaining about her, assuming she was going to appear too often and distract from the rest of the characters. Now it seems like more people are complaining about not enough being done with her. It's obviously two different groups, but still.

Anyway, I'm not really sure exactly what people were expecting from Flurry? An episode of her and Twilight together? Sure, that could be fun, but they'd have to do something extra with it, so it's not just "Baby cakes" all over again. Have her play some vital role to stop the villains? I wouldn't mind, but that's also the exact opposite of what a lot of people seem to want.

I mean...She's a baby. What really is going to be done with her? A lot of people already seem to hate her just for being a baby, or for ruining the "Canon" on alicorns, even though she did nothing of the sort. Other people seem to expect something...I dunno, amazing from this character? She's a baby. Babies don't do much.

I think she's cute, right now, my interest in her ends there. I'll be more interested when/if they give us an older Flurry who's grown enough to have developed a personality of her own.

Probably NONE of the writers knew of Flurry Heart's existence when they were writing their episodes.  They do write episodes concurrently and only a few episodes within a season are linked.

She's a freaking baby. Really what do you expect out of her? She's not exactly gonna be able to do much or carry an episode. Since she can't really do much more than baby things. Like the most you could get is "Twilight/Starlight/whoever has to help take care of her" episode but we kinda already did that with Baby Cakes anyway.

And we DID see her in the Changeling episode like what? just a month ago? So the last time the show went to the Crystal Empire.. we saw her, she was there and she did baby things.

What if they were to do a kind of arc like in the series Angel where FH gets transported to another dimension where time is a lot faster than in EQ and after some time passes in EQ FH comes back as an adult albeit with some issues?

Did the writers just completely forget about Flurry Heart?

This kind of phrasing for this question annoys me because it feels like the one asking doesn't understand how the writing process works. Episode ideas don't just come up right before they start writing each individual episode, they're all decided on at the same time at the season's writers summit. They would be talking about and deciding on what to do with the premiere, finale, and all the episodes in-between. Not to mention she did show up just a few episodes earlier in The Times They Are a Changeling. It's just clearly they didn't plan on involving her in a lot of episodes.

Mainly, just because she was a major development in the premiere doesn't necessarily mean she'll factor into all the rest of the episodes in the season. It's supposed to be a major thing in the context of the universe, making this specific event important for those two episodes, but it's not going to necessarily factor into the ongoing narrative. Like how Luna and Discord weren't even factors in the rest of the seasons they were introduced in. Just because we had one ongoing plot in season 4 with the keys and slight hints of Starlight throughout season 5 does not guarantee you the same thing regarding Flurry Heart.

You could easily ask the same question about Princess Cadance and Shining Armor for the majority of Season 3, and look; those two appear in episodes when they need to. The same answer applies to Flurry Heart in this case. She'll probably appear the next time the show visits the Crystal Empire, which we can't count on happening more often than it already has, and in that case, it will be when she's needed, just like "The Times They Are a Changeling". Unless we've completely forgotten about that episode. :-P

Well since she's the only thing that makes Cadance and Shining Armor relevant in season 7 or any at all, putting her out is a good excuse to give the couple more screen time which is needed.

Despite only seeing Flurry Heart in the season premiere and The Times They Are A Changeling, if she's a central plot point in the finale if Queen Chrysalis is making her comeback, it will be interesting to see if Shining Armor and Cadance have the Fledgling's Forbearance spell from Sunburst temporarily dropped so Flurry Heart leaves Chrysalis a charbroiled mess from her powerful Alicorn magic.

As pointed out, Flurry Heart has had a cameo appearance already. They may be doing a similar thing as in Season 5. Starlight Glimmer only appeared twice in blink-and-you-miss-it moments between the premiere and the finale, but she certainly was a large part of those. Flurry Heart isn't forgotten, she just isn't being used in the plot of any episodes.

I wonder if the writers go the soap opera route where the next time we see Flurry Heart she's several years older, & then the next time after that, a teenager, then a young adult?? The soap opera route is when a character is born, then grows to a child, to a teenager to an adult rapidly during a show's season or two.

They could easily find other reasons, but she'd undoubtedly make appearances if either of them ever got an episode.

People always find ways to complain about something :dash:. Either way, I don't think she's been forgotten, it's just there's no much to do with a baby character. Ways she could be used more, is either a timeskip spin-off, or a child from the future plot :dash:. Who knows, these Baby Flurry Heart Scrapbooks give me the feeling they're saving a big role for her someday :dash:
