Should the CMC help Spike?

All these years and I dunno, it feel like poor Spike is still getting short-strawed. What exactly is his purpose supposed to be now that Twi has grown and become princess, and doesn't really need Spike to be her moral conscious and assistant?

 

The mane6 all have their friendship duties and booty calls from the tree to spread friendship and save the world. The CmC have their task to help others discover the light of their true talents. But what does Spike have? What's his job, what's his significant part to play while the world is being saved, and ponies are discovering themselves? Simply holding down the fort, and playing RPG games or reading comics?

 

Should Spike be given a job or important duties of some sort, like the mane 6 and CMC have? Should the CMC actually help poor Spike to a true purpose? (I dunno, (going out on a limb here... pun intended) maybe petitioning the ToH to bestow him with "the fire of friendship" (being a fire breathing dragon...) to enable him to do something of importance, like they and the mane6 do, and be given actual relevant, life changing tasks for others, by decree of the tree?)

Why wouldn't Twilight need her Number 1 assistant? Even now she can still use some help around the castle. Spike could still occasionally be the Moral Conscience too. While Twilight has certainly grown better in that regard, and usually won't need his help in that manner anymore, she could still have some "Blind spots" that he could point out to her.

 

 Spike really doesn't seem to mind being Twilight's assistant. If anything, I'd like to see that role become more important. Show more cases of Twilight trusting Spike and needing his help. Spike can grow as a character while still being her assistant.

Well, I think I might already know his destiny! As Twilight is the princess of friendship for the ponies in Equestria, Spike seems to know how to create alliances with some of Equestria's least trusted creatures like dragons and changelings! He should be an ambassador of friendship! I dunno when that title will be given to him, but perhaps one day. Besides, he's not just a great assistant to Twilight, he's a great assistant to all of the Mane Six, and Starlight, and pretty much everypony in Ponyville!

 

In all things considered, Spike is Gabby before her time! Hey, he should be a CMC perhaps! I mean even if that doesn't happen, I'd like to see a Spike/CMC episode sometime next season! I've been wanting one for a long time! I'm sure by now we all know what Spike's destiny is gonna be: Ambassador of Friendship!

He's finding his place this season, and that may be especially true after the finale. But I'd like to see them help him all the same, if for no other reason than to pair them off in an episode together where they treat each other as equals and not like "Just For Sidekicks" where they were all acting as foils to one another.

Spike is still Twilight's best assistant. He has helped so much already this season and he has even helped Twilight's first student. Having the title of #1 assistant isn't a negative especially whne you are the best assistant flor the princess of friendship. The whole 'best assistant' has been perfectly on display this season. Personally, I am happy with that.

. Ever sense the changeling episode this has been something that I have been thinking about. Having Spike becoming an ambassador for Equestria could be a great way to end his story arc in the show.

Not really. Spike is fine with his role as assistant. His existance is tied to Twilight; and he is content. He does have his own desires, but however, he'd rather be Twilight's assistance. That's the identity he has tied to himself, and he is unconfortable otherwise. He was born for that reason; to serve her owner, and her friend.

This sounds like a really cool idea. I've mentioned this before, and I'm glad to see that Spike is finally doing something credible, like in the new dragons episode from Season 6. He's my favourite non-pony character in the show and it shows, so It's nice to see him play an intricate part to an episode for once. I don't remember that happening since the business with the Equestria Games. I think seeing him get some kind of special dragon power of friendship or something, and being able to be part of the Mane 6 episodes more because of it would be great. Another thing I just thought of, though it Isn't much related, is maybe the CMC's end up helping Spike get his cutie mark. Yes, I KNOW HE'S A DRAGON, just hear me out. Since Spike's the only dragon to like spending time with all the ponies in Equestria and things like that, I figure he might as well have Equestrian magic inside of him like the ponies do, and since he's absorbed into their lifestyle and culture, maybe he could end up being the first dragon with a cutie mark or something, but It's just a thought.

Spike was Dragon Lord. He is the savior of the Crystal Empire. Twice. He was potentially the first person to propose that changelings can change. What else? Lots of little things, nonetheless important. Even in real life, we have examples of people who can go big but don't want to. Spike could have gone big, and didn't want to. The only thing he seems to want is friendship to spread. And it already is. So I think he does have his purpose, or is at least satisfied with how things are going.

Even royalty needs their advisors and servants. He will take on those tasks... like he's been always doing all this time.

 

I'm wondering more on why Twilight doesn't have more Spikes since she's a princess now.
