general media Anime villains or disney villains?

Oh, anime villains without a shadow of doubt!

So much style & panache!

I remember this one fuzzy-headed white-haired kid from the Medaka Box anime; his entire motive for villainy is that he just hates people! That's it!

Uses these tiny superballs to zing around the room and just watch as people get pelted to smithereens! It's hil-aaarious!

He's also the head of the school disciplinary team, you know, like hall monitors? The "good" guys?

On the other claw, Disney villains I've always felt bad for & not in a good way. Poor Gaston! He was just a big, dumb jock!

Beatings & Salivations Everybeing!   Creativity is something blatantly important to me as is no doubt evidenced by the 28 OCs I have posted here of the some forty plus I have, they're linked altogether at the bottom of my About Me page in my Profile & I would deeply cherish anything you wish to say about them! Among which of those I am proudest most of is my Draconequusona, His/My Ask Thread  and my Hydra, Gallimaufry or "Mauf" and their own Ask Thread!  Either way, sufficed to say, I am quite confident I have more OCs than you! Crazier to! Do You have a tatzelpony?! No, I rather think you don't! Hew-Hew-hew!

Disney's are well-rendered characters with dimension and lots of personality, while anime brings some cool elements into play that we don't always expect. So lots to be said for both.

I watch a lot of Miyazaki movies and, even though I've been told they don't count as anime, the same general idea remains. The villain characters are cool, creepy and unexpected. Just consider the Witch of the Wastes from Howl's Moving Castle, or Yubaba from Sprited Away. Both are completely unique and very menacing, and I would feel uneasy having to face either if them.

Disney villains are classic style and nasty in their own ways, and I personally prefer them probably because they're maybe not as scary, just cool and fun to hate.

The problem with this match up is that Disney villains is a decent, small group of well defined characters. Then we have ALL of anime. Anime has thousands of possible villains to choose from. Just a small sampling could be Dragonball, Gundam, Sailor Moon, One Punch Man, Kill la Kill, Madoka Magika, Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online, and so, SO many more.

Of course this gives the advantage to anime over because of the volume of different choices it has. Because of this, anime will of course win overall.

I appreciate Disney villains and they will do for the kind of movie they appear in without having to go off too far on the understanding of the character. Anime villains have a longer life expectancy so they can be explored more deeply and more content made according to them. I do prefer anime villains if I had to choose.

Disney villains are not afraid to bust into song.

Let's see Vegeta do that.

Anyway, I don't do the whole "which is best" debates on this kind of thing to often... I take each of them for what they are and decide on a case by base basis if they are truly effective or not.

I think Anime Villains are sometimes more serious and the Fights with them more Epic, so i would say, Anime Villains are better.

Also Disney is limited to a certain Age Group while Anime is not.

I'm going to take a third option here and say neither of those. Western non-Disney animation offers the best villains. As just 2 examples, ReBoot has Megabyte, Beast Wars has Megatron. Both are well developed Magnificent Bastards with deep voices who combine cunning with strength in a way that makes them highly entertaining to watch and admire even as we hate them. I'd also probably add to that: Vandal Savage from the various Justice League cartoons.

Happy minion of The Fabulous One!
