Of favorite characters and being defensive

Sometimes I can get annoyed.  Like when people automatically assume Rainbow is a complete jerk because of her arrogance, or call Applejack a background pony. :mlp_wat:

But it’s really not a big deal.  They’re just fictional characters, and I don’t need anyone else to like my favorite ponies, for me to be able to like them.

I think it’s mostly how people put it though because people are allowed to disagree but you also have people who are straight up jerks about someone’s favorite character which trigger the defensive reactions

Nah, I think getting defensive about a character doesn't really lead to anything. It's all a matter of taste anyway. So why get upset about it? Don't get mad, get glad.

Maybe some people get defensive because they relate to the character.

I've felt a little hurt whenever someone says something bad about my favorite character, but I wouldn't get extremely upset at them for having an opinion that opposes mine.

*totally not up to any shenanigans* :ithastolookpretty:
