Deadpool. I'm not crazy about superhero movies, but Deadpool was supposed to be charismatic, witty and funny (or at least that what I was sold), and he was neither of those things. Maybe I'm being too harsh, but that's what happens when you overhype a movie.

Yes! I'm not a massive superhero fan (I did really like The Dark Knight, though) either so I'm not the greatest person to talk about it. There's only so many times you can hear him break the 4th wall and make pop culture references before it becomes old and boring.

I didn't outright hate it or anything but I wouldn't watch it again.

I think Star Wars - The Force Awakens was nothing special.

We had most of the Stuff already in the older Movies and i even saw the Plot Twist coming.

For me personally, it didnt bring anything new and was boring.

Also Batman and Batman Returns are overrated, i always hear, how these Movies were revolutionary for the time, for the Dark Tone but watching these two Movies now, there are still comedic and silly in most Parts.

Batman makes Jokes, the Villain runs around with a Big Music Box, the Villain in the second Movie goes on a Car Toy...i....i dont know.

They dont seem very serious to me.

Also the Nolan Trilogy. The Movies are great but for me personally, those Movies were to realistic.

For Superhero Movies, i want to watch something more colorful and crazy.

Two-Face looked great, but i missed any kind of costume, Bane looks pretty normal, while in the Comic Books, he looks like a mutated Monster or something, Joker was cool but didnt had any Custom Cars or Machines.

I dont know, the Movies are cool but to normal for a Super Hero Movie. At least for me. I still like them though.

I also dont like Twilight, i thought it was boring.

The first of the Christopher Reeves Superman Movies was also dissapointing, with the weak Villain, weird comedic Overtone and the lack of any real serious Fights.

And the second part, waited way to long, for the fight scenes to happen.

I also dont like the Superman in the first and second Parts. He does a few questionable things.

Inglourious Basterds.

I did not get this movie at all.  My friends all loved it and would never stop quoting it, despite the fact that the movie was 80% romantic drama and 20% action.  Sure, the scenes with Brad Pitt and the gang were entertaining and I laughed at Brad Pitt's heavy midwestern accent when attempting to pronounce "grazie" and "buongiorno", but they were so few and far between in a movie that's TWO AND A HALF HOURS.  It was even worse because the way the movie was advertised, I was expecting a light-hearted action movie set during WWII.

Someone please help me understand why this movie is so popular.

Great acting, good characters, good dialogue, german characters actually speak german, nice shots. The trailer didn't do this movie justice because Universal wanted to make a lot of people go watch it by making it look like an action-packed war film. You're basically answering your own question, the reason why you didn't like it is because you expected an action film.

LOTR. Don't get me wrong on that last one, I just think it didn't live up to its fullest potential under Peter Jacksons direction.

How? I honestly don't think any other director could've made it better.

It's a Wonderful Life. The movie is long and plodding for such a simplistic plot and set of characters. The best and most iconic part, that is the intervention by the guardian angel, is in the last 20 or so minutes of the film. I'm not going to disrespect that because it is iconic, my problem is that the movie takes so long to set up its relatively simple story that much of it feels irrelevant. Overall, people have a higher tolerance of simpler and, frankly, cheesier stuff at Christmas, so it's far easier to let stuff like this slide.

I haven't seen it since last Christmas but as far as I can remember the first part of the film sets up his relationship with the other characters as well as shows what makes his life dull. The climax you're talking about is about his feelings and memories. The ending wouldn't have nearly the same impact on the viewer if we were just told what this guy has done and been though instead of being shown.

I could quite happily give you a list of my three favourite films, but those are not necessarily the same as what I might consider to be the three best films.  My favourite films will be governed by my own subjective preferences, whereas the best films will governed by a more objective analysis of a films quality.

I know. That's what I meant. I asked for the films you think are best.

The Godfather.  People go on about it being the best film ever made but no way, not even close.  Don't get me wrong, it's a good film but it isn't that good.

I'll agree that it's not the greatest movie of all time, I personally preferred "Goodfellas," but The Godfather is a classic.

I personally think that Citizen Kain and Avatar are both hugely overrated.

Star Wars. All of them. There, I said it. The toys and games and novels and everything. The movies are nice action flicks, but there is not much substance there.

Phantom Menace isn't over rated.  It's widely regarded to be bad.

The first that came into my mind was Frozen. Stay tuned for more that I can remember.

I've got to agree with you there, take away the songs and their's nothing to Frozen's story, IMO.

Might be a controversial opinion here, but I have never enjoyed Forest Gump. The movie follows such a cliche pattern that I have seen in a lot of movies. The character that is brought into a world where he is at odds with everything, he has a mental disorder apparently, and despite that, he of course manages to rise above everything despite all the horrible shit around him. He is made out to be such a special character, yet there is not real justification for it except for the movie cutting from scene to scene of him doing incredible things or whatever. I find it to be incredibly boring. A character that is made to be incredibly flawed but is actually perfect in the end doesn't appeal to me much. Oh he started running for a loooooooooong time and for no reason, let's all make a big deal out of it and put it on the news for no reason. Friggin...meh. Most people in this world do not have such incredible stories to tell one after another. Maybe one from time to time yet this guy apparently has nearly two hours worth of amazing life stories for himself. It just makes the movie feel really formulaic early on.

Star Wars - The Force Awakens

This movie was a total failure in my opinion. It wasn't as good as the previous ones, not even close to. To be honest I think, that the whole movie was unnecessary. That was almost like necroposting in a solved thread.  :-P

Don't get me wrong though, I liked that movie, but I was disappointed. Many people likes that one and it's 'popular', so that's why I could say, that it's over-rated a little, in my opinion.

(I'm not a star wars fan, but I do really like these movies.)

The Dark Knight series. Very boring all the actors in it are flat and listless. The story is flat and listless. Writers and actors all fail. I suppose the CGI animators are the only ones that did their craft right. But for some reason people think it poops gold or something. Not sure why Heath Ledger gets this much praise.

Personally, I find The Hunger Games to be quite over-rated. Some of my issues with the movie include: a good number of logical flaws(even with the system the movie presents us with), characters that are too malicious and evil for no good reason, Rue was kind though had little development; as a result her death was not very sad, and bare-bones social commentary(despite what many people say).

That's fair enough and I respect the movie a lot for that, but the film as a whole is clocked at about 130 minutes long, and it feels like it takes about 90-100 minutes to get going. It feels out of balance to me and more like something that could have been done in a shorter amount of time.
