ManaMinori 4,145 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 Is anyone's passion for prismacolored ponies so strong that they would like to, or have considered trying to get hired by Hasbro, on the possibility that they get to do some kind of work on the MLP brand (even if it's just janitor work in the offices of the toy designers, or maintaining the machines on the line)? Zachary 5,521 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 I couldn't work for Hasbro for that, Besides I would get Fired if I do bad at it. Thanks Kyoshi for the Signature
weesh 690 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 (edited) wizards of the coast is a subsidiary of hasbro.i would probably really enjoy being a magic the gathering designer.but other than that, probably not, I love being a mechanical engineer, and I bet their opportunities for an engineer are rare, and possibly uninteresting. KillerKingBakudan 702 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 No. Corporations in general are run by dicks. If I worked at Hasbro, my experience there would almost certainly be horrendous, and any resentment I had towards them would kill my enjoyment of their products. I'd hate to quit watching FIM or buying the Marvel Legends figures just to put my old managers out of my mind. No questions asked.

Ganondorf8 11,391 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 Probably not as the stress of being around so many people would make me very uncomfortable. Plus, their building would be difficult for me to navigate as memorization isn't my strongest suit.
Kaneki 1,073 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 Maybe IT for a small part, considering that's what I'm good at. But probably not, I'd prefer a small company.

I'm only talking about the work environment. It's the reason I refuse to work at video game companies. People keep telling me it's a good start to building a career in art, and that I should work at EA because I happen to live near one of their studios. I'd believe that if their management wasn't so detrimental to your health. I'm not willing to work overtime without pay and face the possibility of termination just because a product I worked on didn't sell enough. Toy companies may not push people as much for their bottom line, but if the QC on most of Hasbro's products as of late tells me anything, it's that they're cheap, and they have no respect for their designers. That's typical with any commercial business. No questions asked.

GeekySonic 1,150 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 I'd like work at all. If they wanted me to clean toilets with my toothbrush, I'd do it. Check out my voice-acting demo reels on Casting Call Club, if you'd like.
Jeric 46,861 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 I probably could get a job with them in some capacity if I felt so inclined to uproot my family. The truth of it is that after working for a few massive corporations (Ford and Chase), I've somewhat soured on the thought of Enterprise level business and even development. It never felt rewarding to me, and at the end of the day I need that more than anything ... specific to employment that is.

weesh 690 November 25, 2016 Share November 25, 2016 (edited) it's shocking to me that you guys think that every job in a this huge company is going to be tedious and boring, and overshadowed by corporate culture.Wizards of the coast was a small company acquired by hasbro, and you know what changed? basically, they had to change a few ways that they interacted with the public. for instance, the head designer's twitter account now has "#wotcstaff" as a tag under each post. Big companies are cool, because they have so much going for them. want to change thigns up? move to a different toy or department or subsidiary. They have web developers, accountants, a plethora of creative types, managers, etc.Yes, SOME corporations struggle to maintain a family feel, but not all do.I've worked for a company with 80k employees. one with 55k employees, and another with 70. one of the big companies was horrible, the other has felt in many ways similar in feel to the 70 person company. Would you believe, that in the exact same field, I have FEWER bullshit meetings in the 55k company than in the 70 person company? If you draw a line in the sand and refuse to work for a company solely based on the size, you might miss out on a great opportunity. And I think corporations are getting better at it too. Many use the rule of 150 and make sure that you interact with no more than 150 people, so that you can get to recognize them all. need more employees? build a new building across the street to keep the two groups segregated. Also, working for a small company isn't free of problems either. You can rapidly run out of advancement opportunities, or a lost project can be a catastrophe, when a big company can afford losses that would sink a smaller one. I've talked with people that worked under the Hasbro umbrella, and they have made it clear that the company still feels more like a family than a machine. Regent 77 November 26, 2016 Share November 26, 2016 Nope, but it would be cool to work for DHX or IDW... But it would be even better to work for myself, on my own IP.
Rikifive 24,225 November 27, 2016 Share November 27, 2016 As an indie game developer, that loves to toy with making games, I actually would love to work for them and develop some pony games and not only. I have some ideas for games, that both target audience and brony community would probably enjoy and I'm sure, that with their help (mainly music/resource wise) things would be nicely going. And of course - having game development as a job would be the best thing I could ask for. I just love this and if I could work at home - then I'd be totally happy. ❤ ■■■■■■■■■■ ⭐ ■■■■■■■■■■
Moony the Cat 3,703 November 27, 2016 Share November 27, 2016 If i can create a Movie of some Sorts, with talking Animals in it than sure ! Or maybe, if i would work on a new Hasbro game, that would also be cool. But i also would take other Jobs, because almost everything is better, than being jobless...like me. But i wouldnt want to be a Janitor...or maybe i could try it out and then just see how it works out. Sig made by Kyoshi
