Too Much Apple Bloom?

Does anyone think Apple Bloom hogs most of the spotlight from Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo? Not only has she gotten more episodes then them, but she also got the most appearances out of all of them.

 

I hope in season seven we get more Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo, there are plenty more story possibilities with them.

The problem isn't that there's too much AB, but that there's too little Scootaloo and specially Sweetie Belle. I hope both get more screentime next season.

I'm so fucking sick of Applebloom, and I honestly don't find her a very interesting character and most of her episodes are usually really dull. I hate the fact that they constantly give her so much focus while Sweetie and Scoots constantly get fucked over despite both of their episodes being top tier

I've experienced redundancy with the last CMC episodes. So I would rather them not focus on any of the crusaders, unless a new aproach is taken.

I'm hoping that Season 7 gives us one Scootaloo centric episode. I could go for another Sweetie Belle focused one, but Scoots has the most unanswered and unresolved questions.

 

AB could probably take a back seat for a little bit.

Here's a novel idea. Pair the two off with an unconventional character who has not been featured along side the CMC often.

Apple Bloom has the benefit of being Applejack's sister. While a Scootaloo or Sweetie Belle episode might also have their sister in a supporting role, it's rare for the opposite to happen. Applejack however is more likely to have episodes that involve making use of her family including Apple Bloom, so she's going to get more chances to star.

 

It's also likely that in a similar way that Twilight is the leader of the mane six, the writers may think of Apple Bloom as the unofficial leader of the CMC, or the one that best fits the main character role. She was the only one that really had any roles or focus before the formation of the CMC, playing a major role in Bridle Gossip and Call of the Cutie being her episode. Plus originally the CMC wasn't even going to be a thing, it would've just been Apple Bloom until Hasbro asked for Sweetie and Scootaloo, so more may have been planned with Apple Bloom as the focus.

Sweetie Belle is really coming into her own.  Her magic has moved from non-existent to sub-par to a fast track that could lead to Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns.  They weren't ready to show her in that vein in season 6 as she was on the path.  Now that her magic has improved so very much it opens up all sorts of ethical issues that could come up, as well as her path leading away from the other crusaders.

 

Scootaloo has a major issue in that she still can't fly, while at the same time Rainbow Dash is becoming a lot more busy with the Bolts.  They have been trying too hard to dance on the pin between her never managing to fly and keeping hope that she may one day fly.  So they have not been able to progress the character much.  They have a big decision to make and we could have episodes from either side.  The thing she won't have is Rainbow Dash around to fall back on when she needs it.

I would appreciate a Sweetie Belle focused episode. She seems to be the silliest of the three characters. Plus we could look forward to all the Sweetie Bot memes to float around, which is always a good thing. Scootaloo seems to have one direct flaw within the character that makes her hard to expand upon. She has no family to work around. Whenever we try to learn about her, we end up falling on her interacting with characters like Rainbow Dash, Sweetie Belle and yes, Apple Bloom. It leaves a lot less options on how to write for her, but could also lead to an incredible episode for her. If they were to create one based on her family (or lack there of) and how she gets by, it could make for a very attractive story, maybe even worthy of two episodes? I guess you'll have to put your faith in the mighty Faust. Not that Faust! The one that created the series.

Hopefully next season will have one Scootaloo and one Sweetie Belle episode and one CMC episode and no Applebloom one. I don't dislike her but there should be more balance among the CMC, Applebloom could get a supporting role in sole Applejack epsiode anyway. I suppose she seen as the leader of CMC by the staff since we met her first and she was the the one with the first episode there is no reason continue this. Twilight's epsiodes have actually decreased over time so the same should happen to Applebloom in comparison to the CMC.

A chance to do just a Sweetie Belle or Scootalloo focused episode without one or another is rather tough because the CMCs are always so intertwined together. Seeing that Applebloom is also the main driving force behind the CMCs, her presence do help in bringing Sweetie Belle and Scootalloo into role but only very scarcely compared to her. Not that there's too much Applebloom but quite frankly, the CMCs as a whole has to be shown more too in that regard because it would be hard to separate them and to not mention one or another. As CMCs episodes go, they would still have the same amount of screentime but it's the emphasis that Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo needs compared to Applebloom and I believe that's when we're seeing more character time with Applebloom.

Well like I keep saying, I really want to see next season is Babs having another appearance along with her Manehattan CMCs!

 

But yeah, next to that, it would be really nice seeing a Sweetie Belle-centric episode, and a Scootaloo one! Baykush does have a point saying that there isn't really too much Apple Bloom, but more like too little of the other CMCs. Like Rarity and Rainbow Dash in the previous season - there wasn't too much of them, just too little of the other Mane Six, especially Pinkie and Fluttershy. That's why all the characters should have an equal amount of appearances.

Yes there has been. It feels like it was forever sense Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo had episodes focusing on them. Which is a shame, as they are much much more interesting.

Apple Bloom's problem is that despite having plenty episodes of focus, she remains a largely dull and uninteresting character, so it just feels like all that focus has gone to waste. 

 

Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are significantly better characters without having as much focus on them.

I don't mind seeing much of Apple Bloom, however, I do agree about the Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle part. I'd love to see how Scootaloo lives. She surely has parents or some kind of family like the other two.. Right?

Not enough Apple Bloom, and definitely not enough Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo. They ought to be the protagonists of the next generation if you ask me. c;

I don't see what makes one of them more interesting over the others personally.. I like them all pretty equally. The writers do tend to focus more on Applebloom than Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo when it comes to solo episodes, so I do think they need equal time if they want to do things like that... or they could just keep them together and have them take turns being the center of the episode  as they have done in the past. Mainly I just would like to see them do an episode with Scoots learning to fly... even if only basically.
