Why did you turn off all the filters, HMM!?

I had to cry, so I looked at fluffy pony stuff.

A couple friends invited me to a maid cafè event. Basically one of those night where you get served and entertained (in a SFW way) by girls with a french maid uniform (they ones you typically find in animes, y'know, the black and white kind)

I'm not really an anime fan but I was like "what the heck, why not".

We met a few and just played games and lol'd around, and then I saw her

She had a pinke pie necklace

Pinkie pie is my second favorite pony

I switched from "Normal ColonVee" state to "Ultra excited" ColonVee state and was like "IS THAT PINKIE PIE"

Did my best to regain control of myself, friends looking at me like "o.o"

And I had to tell them I was a brony.

Result: Me and the girl started talking for literally hours. She was as much as a pegasister as I am a brony, She stuck with us even past the event and we exchanged our favorite poni music,

My friends started watching MLP as well. I think one of them didn't really like it but they're both cool with me being a brony. I think their reaction was "Oh, if HE watches it then it must be a good show" rather than the standard "Ugh, pastel ponies? REALLY?"

Everything went better than expected. And I'm going to meet that pegasister next saturday :V

I hung out with my friend and this chick he knows like two months ago, and later on he told me that she asked him if I was a Brony.

I don't know how in the world she knew, I didn't even mention it and it never came up in our conversation at all...

Wonder if he said something and didn't tell me? Oh well, just thought that was mega weird. That definitely caught me off guard... maybe she has Brony Sense?

I think it was a few years ago, I was with a few of my friends. Suddenly an advert comes on the TV for MLP toys. Only one of my friends knew about my bronyness. He said "Getting excited, are we?", Looking at me. Everyone in the room, turned and faced me. Thank god my reply was "As much as your mother last night!". Woo... saved it.

Nope, I'm a full blown brony XD I walk around in shirts, hats, etc. And whenever someone asks about it I just say "Yeah, I watch My Little Pony."

When I was with some contemporaries I mentioned "everypony", instead of "everybody" in the context of a sentence, never had done that before, it was a total subconscious slip up.

That's never happened to me before though a lot of Bronies have mentioned it. The one time I did slip up with a word was after talking to my family when I came back from Bronycon... I kept calling Baltimore Baltimare...

But hey, you can't blame me, everyone was doing it at the con and it must've rubbed off on me!

I almost said this on my first day of college during a conversation. Lukily I caught myself as I am sure things would have gotten really awkward lol.

I can't say there's really anyone left whom I'd rather hide my 'brony-ness' from, honestly. I wouldn't say I'm "loud and proud" about it, but I will occasionally wear a pony shirt/wrist band in public undeterred by people's opinions. Just don't give a hoot, brah.

Then there are those images of adult-like (really adult-like) plastered all over the community by, well, I don't like to mention them. This being done, that Ant-bronies get to give the people who could become potential bronies another reason to not become one, and another reason to grow hate against our community.

If you're saying that anti-bronies use r34 as ammo to deter people from potentially looking into the fandom...well, all I can really say is that if a person is so easily led around by his nose that a simple smut pic will cause him to think "oh em gee, all bronies like this stuff?! :o ", then their choice not to join is honestly no big loss. Last thing this fandom needs is an influx of easily manipulated fools.

  • 4 months later...

Considering that we have had multiple threads on this topic, I went ahead and merged threads started by @Rainbow Skywalker and @GXPBlast with an older one started by @Dino-Mario.

Any and all recent discussion dedicated to "being almost caught" and/or "being caught" belong here.

Thank you and have a good day! :)

I draw ponies, and pony related stuff at school a lot, and once I drew a moon with Nightmare Moon in it, and my classmates saw it. I was really nervous whether they would find out, and they thought it was awesome, and they asked what kind of beast was in the moon, and I told them it was the Eyemonster... O.o Also I drew a Vinyl Scratch thingy, and they just said it was cool, and didn't even think about what it might be... So I have been lucky a lot. :3

I had a close call about two years ago.  I was cooking some ribs over at my stepdad's house (because we didn't have an oven that worked at mine), and I decided to wear my Twilight shirt.  It was during the afternoon, so I didn't think he'd be there when I was cooking them. Luckily I heard him pull up and I had my jacket with me.  I put the shirt on backwards and put on my jacket before he saw me.

I suppose I would fit in to the catagory of closet brony, though I do not typically hide my fandom, neither do I carry/wear anything that shouts "Brony!".

I suppose I fit in best with "Casual Brony", I do not display nor do I deny.

The other day a waitress at Ihop was discussing with me what series would be best for her daughter, so I responded "My Little Pony". And went on to explain why.

Honestly, Liking Ponies has never really been an issue for me. Aside from a few sarcastic jabs from my parents here and there, Nobody I know really cares and even the staff of my workplace all know and have bought and made Pony things for me. I've always liked whatever I wanted and I'm not going to let stereotypes and gender norms get in the way of something harmless that I enjoy.

My monitor is a big ol' T.V., so it's hard to miss anything

My friend comes over and I just minimize my MLP browser and bring up my other one where I do my other stuff, and we're hanging out and doing stuff on the computer, and I forget I have MLP forums up on the main page, and this pop up comes up and I can't exit out of it, so I alt+ctrl+delete and task manager brings up all running programs, I end the task and suddenly notice "My Little Pony..."

my friend was on his phone texting, but I have the slightest feeling he noticed because I swear he cracked a smile in the corner of my eye.

Yea I almost got caught like five times since all of them are similar I'll name two close calls

1. Once I was on the bus listening to music like a boss and then suddenly I realized that I had it on shuffle and then smile hd came on I was looking at the video as well by the way and I literally paused the song at a superhuman speed and changed it I thought for a minute my peaceful school life was over but luckily no one noticed and I continued my life like normal.

2. The second time was just where I borrowed my friends mlp dvd so I was watching it in my room then the door suddenly opened I just barely managed to change the screen to my ps4 channel and I also threw my friends mlp did box out the window which I slyly recovered later but my family came into my room to tell me something they went back out after that and I just felt I should watch it on my iPad or tv when my parents aren't in the house. That's my experience with almost being caught watching mlp.

I've been "caught" watching FIM every time I watch it with my mother. xD  And anytime I venture into public wearing a Rainbow Dash t-shirt, I'm "caught" sporting pony merchandise.  Once, I went over to my brother's to have a Diablo III gaming session, and I spent my break watching moments from FIM on Youtube.  Heck, the guy that came over to fix my light switch walked into a room with pony merch all over. xD

Yep. I was watching it at school and my computer teacher saw. He announced it to the entire class. I lost some major tomboy points :(

Now that was unprofessional behavior by a staff member, they really have no business announcing that to the class. I feel sorry for what you had to go through. That would be what i consider  a strike against them, every time a teacher did that to me, i would mark that down and after three times; i would take it to the office.
