What's with all the Season 6 hate?

And yet I have known people like that - who take being the "office prankster" too far, then wonder why they don't get invited to events, are shoo'd out of rooms that are locked behind them, and so forth. RD went too far, with things only she found funny, and got taught differently and in epic fashion by Pinkie. It's not a great episode, but it is a fun one.

I can't see the fun. This episode made me not like Rainbow so much as before. It was a down right ridiculous plot. I believe they worked like less then an hour on the episode.

The issue with FF is in the filler, not in the story. I guess you could make the point that the extended failure sequences with Rarity served to give emphasis to her later realization and the final resolution, but I think you could have done a montage of some sort and cut out nearly ten minutes of cringeworthy programming, and the story would have been better for it. 

That may be so, but it was to slow. Rarity was a stereotypal 'mother' with a growing up teen. There was nothing original or fun to watch.

Fluttershy was really bold here for her character. She finally is able to tell people to go and say no. There was almost nothing about the past Fluttershy over in the conversation where she went against the others. Really well done.

Not too original perhaps ,but Rarity's acceptance of her sister growing up, and indeed of the whole of the CMC, is important to world building and to the development of all four characters. It would help if they would actually DRAW them as growing up of course; I get it, they want to keep selling the current set of toys, but still, surely the next gen can have teenage-sized CMCs?

But she wasn't. Compare THIS to S3's Keep calm and Flutter on, for example; she picked her path and stood by it, directly opposing the wishes of the other core fillies, but when Discord pushed her too far, lost it at him and stormed off.  Ditto with Discord AGAIN in Make New Friends but Keep Discord, with her brother in Flutter Brutter, and so forth. A key part of Fluttershy's character is that she can and does step up and express herself when she feels she needs to; she is non-confrontational by default, and will often compromise on method than assert herself, but she is not willing to compromise her goals, ever.  It seems to work for her though

But she now faced the discussion. Normally she would role with it, or she would walk away. She now told them what she thought, but she kept being nice. You can't say this is the same as in the others.

A real step forward if you ask me.

I think we will have to agree to disagree on this one. I don't see a significant difference here, but if you do, then that's good too - it's a subjective thing after all

That is the reason I placed Stranger than Fanfiction in the top 5 of S6, i was suffering so much before that episode

I must say that I found Fluttershy Leans In really fun and Forever Filly dull as ditchwater.

Still I freely admit bias, I have never not liked a Fluttershy episode.

It wasn't really good indeed. The best season 6 episodes are in the second half.

More like they wrote the characters around an idea instead if the idea around the characters. They wanted to write a zombie story, and Rainbow was the sacrifice to let them do that.

Yeah, I never really liked those zombie episodes in other shows as well. But here it was just so fake.

I prefer the Gravity Falls way.   Looks far better.

Going back to season 6 Buckball Season really did feel like a season 1 episode, but that was it's problem for me. There was no depth there, and it was all so underwhelming.

Buckball Season was just an episode meant for fun, just like PPOV. This kind of episode doesn't have to be full of depht. They just need to be funny.

God I hated Stranger Than Fan Fiction, although to be fair I don't think there's a single episode I actually like centered around Rainbow; either indifferent to or dislike. The same disdain goes for Flutter Brutter and Top Bolt; Hasbro really made a tendency for introducing more unlikable male characters. Regardless of their development by the end of each episode, the majority spent on Quibble, Zephyr and Sky's attitudes were enough to put me off.

I liked the problem in Top Bolt tho. It had a nice touch on the season.

Well, I never roleplayed before, so I don't know. (Want to try it eventually ) 

It wasn't the best Discord episode indeed, but he was damn funny and pissed at the same time.

Going back to season 6 Buckball Season really did feel like a season 1 episode, but that was it's problem for me. There was no depth there, and it was all so underwhelming.

I quite liked the idea that Fluttershy was getting past her fear of public performance (and in a team sport, no less). Filli Vanilli I have ambiguous feelings about; Ok, the final song was awesome, but the rest of the episode was as contrived as Honest Apple, and not much better in execution.

Fluttershy has never had a really bad episode, because it is Fluttershy. 

Filli Vanilli was not bad either. It made Fluttershy understand she doesn't always has to be quiet and humble, but let's her see she can speak out.
