On mobile devices, Annoying Video Ads

Will Guide

Recommended Posts

When using MLP Forums on mobile devices recently, even when logged in, I keep getting pulled down to seeing some annoying video ad at the bottom of every other page. Every time I try to scroll back up to look at the actual topic and its posts, I keep getting pulled down to the video. Even when I tried to pause the video, it STILL sometimes won't let me go back up. Even when I'm trying to read through PMs.

I think it might be a technical bug. Any of you higher-ups have any idea?

Having the same problem here on a desktop, won't even let me pause it and Opting out of commercials still won't prevent it from happening. It will even interrupt me while I'm typing so that one Ford commericial is effectively putting a hault to my using the Forums as a whole. Kind of surprised it hasn't... speak of the devil there it goes... Thank goodness there's not much length to this thread. Do hope we get an answer & quick, or I will have to just accept being wholesale rejected from these forums!

Beatings & Salivations Everybeing!   Creativity is something blatantly important to me as is no doubt evidenced by the 28 OCs I have posted here of the some forty plus I have, they're linked altogether at the bottom of my About Me page in my Profile & I would deeply cherish anything you wish to say about them! Among which of those I am proudest most of is my Draconequusona, His/My Ask Thread  and my Hydra, Gallimaufry or "Mauf" and their own Ask Thread!  Either way, sufficed to say, I am quite confident I have more OCs than you! Crazier to! Do You have a tatzelpony?! No, I rather think you don't! Hew-Hew-hew!

I'll take a look at what ads that are here, but they are google ads so you're somewhat receiving content based on them too. I've personally not seen any of these issues on my mobile devices or on the desktop, even though I do enable ads, otherwise I might've taken a look at it sooner.

Whelp, since then I've tried being on the forums on Firefox and now on... uhh... Internet Explorer, the big blue E thingie? Have the same issue there, but admittedly little less frustrating as those two browsers are a lot slower for me. It always seems to be the same ad too, one for a Ford... something about kicking open a truck or Wi-Fi or something.

So, my point is, doesn't seem to be a browser specific thing. But I don't know nothing about no technology. Besides, I did mention, right, about how even opting out of ads won't stop the commericials from popping in? I can't seem to do anything to stop them, apart from being to laggy for them to load in before I go to a new page.

I understand that it's not really browser specific, but it is based on your web history a bit. So I'm having to block ads that seem to cause that. Also IP.B is broken right now so disabling them apparently is a bit broken.

You should be able to block them drilling down to All My Sites in the block content section of the AdSense account. It may be a pain finding the Ford ad if you don't have the ad URL, but it's one way to kill those ads.
