They should do a episode about Shining Armor feeling envy of his sister and wife and daughter.

I feel like they should a episode about Shining Armor being jealous of Twilight Sparkle and Princess Cadance and Flurry Heart because of them being Alicorns while he's not one.

That would likely be a wasted opportunity to address familial envy and generally unrealistic. Think about it ... what is a better way to approach envy considering their family makeup? What would be more realistic?

Indeed.

The ideal of him just being Jealous of them being Alicorns would make him seam like (Well actually be) A pretty massive jerk.

There are other things they could do.

 

Like Cadence is getting to see Twilight more then he is. (She does seam to be) Something to that effect, something that seams reasonable without making him seam petty.

I was talking about how most parents deal with envy at lost time. Even young kids go through this since they have not yet developed a sense of true permanence and time referencing. Could be felt by Shining, Cadance, and/or Flurry.

As other users above me have mentioned, Shining Armour doesn't seem to be too green-eyed. So, this episode wouldn't be too realistic.

I think it would be interesting to explore, and from several fanfics I've seen there's definitely enough basis for it. But you'd have to be careful not to just rehash episodes that have already happened, and with Brotherhooves and such I don't see an easy way to do it.

I totally get where you're coming from and I wouldn't be against it, but I'd prefer a get-to-know-them slice episode about interesting named ponies in royal guard and their interactions with Shining. I'm just a little tired of the so-called "villains" getting defeated left and right without any satisfying buildup. Same ol' machinations, same ol' motives. It has become as repetitive as casting couch. FIM villains just can't raise my interest anymore.
