I'm actually surprised that either very little or nothing has really been said about this series. Overall, I feel this series has thus far been the most consistently strong series in the MLP comics lineup. Granted, not everything has been perfect, but I have had little complaints!

That said, we have 10 issues of a 12 issue series released with a 48-page annual issue coming in December. Much to be excited about!

Any thoughts so far of the series thus far?

They look pretty nice, I have a feeling we'll probably be seeing a lot of Star Swirl in the new comics! I still find it so awesome that he's actually back in the main series

oh i've been loving them!
as wonderful as one-shots are, if we get 6-parters of this quality, i'm all for it!

The background on stygian and the team has been lovely.  Meadowbrook has been especially enjoyable to read about, and her part with the dragons was the highlight of the series to me so far.

I have the first graphic novel and I enjoyed it.  When is the second one supposed to come out?

All right, so with issue #11 of this series released, we have:

1. Stygian and the gang arriving at Mistmane's greenhouse, only to find the plants have gone insane and Mistmane to be nowhere.

2. In the end they overcome the plants largely thanks to Stygian's leadership, rescuing Mistmane who eventually calms the plants.

3. They go to Canterlot and find Starswirl; leaving us with some great smart phone wallpaper material:

Well, issue #12 is out and...it's sad one, in a since. The six-issues are sees:

...Stygian pretty much overrun as the leader of the group due to Star Swirl's hero worship of the heros, and Stygian's athority-bias towards Star Swirl. It's amazing just how Stygian's downfall is not due to one certain thing, but a combination of things. It really puts a nice cap on this arc.

Overall; a GREAT read! Highly recommended, with only the 2018 annual left to finish the series coming next month!
