At this point, they would rule the entire market industry.

Join Disney (your new overlord)!

Disney will easily just absorb Fox and Sony into Touchstone Pictures, making it a super studio for PG-13 to R rated films.

Star Wars was ruined LONG BEFORE Disney bought them! Remember The Prequel films? At least the post-purchase of the films were at least better than the horrible Phantom Menace. And like I said before LucasFilms still is the maker of the films, NOT Disney.

If anything, Disney has breathe new life into the Franchise!

Even though emoji and pixels weren't good movies, they did profit in the end which means they didn't perform poorly.

I liked both, myself.

If you say Disney doesn't ruin most of the properties that they decide to buy out, then explain Cars 2 for me, and honestly every bad movie that Pixar made since Disney bought them.  (Good Dinosaur, Monsters University...)  Pixar literally only made amazing movies before Disney bought them 11 years ago and forced them into writing sequels (the only one they wrote before they got bought out by Disney was Toy Story 2 and now almost all of their properties have one. Heck Toy Story's suddenly going on its fourth movie, and they weren't even going to release a third one, which I'll admit I don't remember being half bad).

By the way, before you ask about the good movies they have produced since, Cars, Ratatouille, and Wall-E were all conceptualized before Disney bought them. The only other fairly good movie that Disney really had a part in was Toy Story 3, otherwise it's basically a lot full of Pixar movies that fail to shine, especially as Pixar films. Sure, Finding Dory was alright for a Pixar film, but it wasn't exactly as good as.. EVERY movie before they got bought out by Disney! By the way, this debacle of Disney's is partially why I completely detached myself from Star Wars when Disney bought it. I was pretty sure they were going to do this to it, and from reviews of The Last Jedi, it seems as though my premonitions about it were right.

Also, for the first paragraph, you clearly never watched the last of the prequel trilogy if you think that it was ruined before Disney bought LucasFilms. I watched it in theaters and it was almost as good as A New Hope in my honest opinion. A lot of people seem to agree also that it was better than everything that had been produced before Disney wiped their hands all over it. Sure two of the three prequel movies were no good, but that's still a better track record from what I've heard than Star Wars has had since Disney bought it, and that seems pretty sad to me. It's a real shame you can't see the corporate monster Disney has become. The only thing you see are the decently good films that are made under them once in a while.

@Duzzkey

You clearly never saw "Inside Out"

That's it? One movie? About what I thought.

I will admit that the movie sounds promising, and that I never watched it. However, that's one movie, and I don't see how that could redeem Disney's poor track record with Pixar, and particularly to make Post-Disney Pixar be even comparable to Pre-Disney Pixar. Literally the only debatably lower than stellar movies that they worked on before they got bought out was Cars and Ratatouille. Even then both of the movies were still nowhere near as bad as anything Disney produced afterwards (in fact, both were still good movies), and the only seemingly great movie since was Inside Out. Still looking really bad in my eyes for the Post-Disney Pixar in comparison.

But there is Coco. Maybe that movie is as good as people claim it is.

I know it seems like Disney has Sony's back to the wall, but in fact the wall is right in front of them!! With the recent allegations against Tarintino by Uma Thurman, Sony may have paid big for poison. So best to sell off and focus on technology and gaming.

I agree with that. Sony has only been pumping out complete and utter garbage in the movie department.

But, even then, recent Sony consoles haven't been able to reclaim the past glory of the PS2 in my eyes.

I saw a meme not long ago, which showed that by the year 3000 Disney will rule the world and enslave us all under the whim of Supreme Leader Mickey, as we struggled to fight against The House Of Mouse's oppressive mantra as they took over all beneath its hefty foundations.

Based on their recent financial transactions and this apparent prediction... it might occur sooner than we think.

Perhaps over 900 years sooner at this rate.

They paid BIG cash for Passengers, Birth of a Nation and Ghostbusters

And we all know how that turned out.

As Screenjunkies put it.

From the studio that...

1. Got hacked by North Korea

2. Lost creative control of Spiderman

3. Lost the rights to James Bond

4. Bombed with the Ghostbusters reboot

5. Couldn't even keep Adam Sandler happy.

Its time to sell.

I dunno, i’d gladly take Phantom Menace and Revenge Of The Sith over the Last Jedi. Star Wars was still pumping out tons of quality content even after the Prequels came, especially in terms of Video Games and the Expandded universe. I’d actually argue that Star Wars is in a worse spot than before, between the Last Jedi’s divisive showing(audience ratings on RT is lower than goddamn Attack of the Clones), the horrible state of Star Wars Video games(The BATTLEFRONT EA games have been complete train wrecks), Disney nuking the expanded universe, Disney pumping out new Star Wars movies every year, and making people getting really sick of them quickly. Honestly at this point the only good thing I think the franchise still has going for it are the cartoons, which I hear are fantastic

That had better be a joke. Mickey Mouse would NEVER say that!

I don't entirely agree that it's in a worse state than before, but I became jaded on the topic of Star Wars after the release of The Force Awakens. Yet again, I'm really only considering the film side here. With the video game side, there's not much to tell, and it has nothing to do with Disney, but nonetheless the same breed.

Perhaps not, but the company he represents seems to think that way.

So Disney buying Sony ?  Im not surprised because Sony makes only a good once every blue moon, so to speak. The Alien Franchise has been total shit since 3 and their attempts at Spider-Man suck as well. Oh and their animation sucks so much ass when did that studio ever produce a good movie?   So Disney buying Sony is a mercy and I hoping Disney closed down the animation department. Plus, I welcome the new Disney Overlords

Nah. Malls would still be gone. It was a dated way of commerce compared to online shopping. It's like saying kerosine lamps fell out of favor because of electricity having a monopoly.

Add Sony to make 7 and you have a monopoly.
