likely because the network itself, and whatever they air, tend to be skewed towards older kids vs Nickelodeon and especially Disney, so chances are people aren't as interested in Preschool content on CN like they usually are for Disney

Most of Cartoon Network's schedule consists of Teen Titans Go!. The channel is basically for preschoolers already.

Could you see Nickelodeon or Disney airing something like Steven Universe or Adventure Time? I couldn't.

(And yes, I know Adventure Time was originally pitched to Nickelodeon).

Nick is crap nowadays so probably not. Maybe Disney for Steven Universe though

CN is pretty much cutting investment in the channel. They know streaming is the future, so they're focusing on pushing their apps.

Besides, what good preschool content is there? Discovery family already has paw patrol, Strawberry shortcake, littlest petshop and arguibly MLP. Stuff like miraculous ladybug is on syndication. And I have no clue what's on Nick or Disney.

Paw Patrol is on Nick Jr, not Discovery Family,

Talked about this on another site, but I'll talk about it again here. It doesn't seem CN has had much (if any) success at preschool programming. I'm not sure how many people know this, but while these weren't exactly blocks (although one did have various shows as segments), CN first tried preschool programming in the 90s with Small World and Big Bag. It doesn't seem those caught on either, unless most people just forgot about them. Bottom line: preschool programming never seemed to work for CN and I'd be surprised if they tried it again.

And Nickolodien decided to go for "Fanboy and Chum Chum" instead!

I think Cartoon Network could, just put re-runs of Amazing World of Gumball, isn't that preschool friendly despite being aimed to 7 and up?

Why doesn't Cartoon Network do what Disney Channel and Nickelodeon does and make a preschool block? I know they failed with Tickle U, but they could try again.

You pretty much said it yourself. They already tried preschool programming, and it failed. It looks like they tried it and failed several times actually, reading some of these other posts. Everyone knows the saying "If you don't succeed, try, try again" Well guess what? That's a great saying for an average Joe, but the TV executives at CN loose money, millions of dollars if they try something at their network and it fails. It's even worse when it's already been tried several times and failed each and every time. At this point, I think CN learned their lesson and decided that preschool programming just isn't what works on their network.

This could just be me, but I didn’t think it seemed like something that would fit with actual preschool programming.

Man, I bet the people at Nickelodeon are kicking themselves for letting Adventure Time slip by them. It's even worse that they greenlit Fanboy and Chum-Chum instead.

Nickelodeon has made some STUPID decisions in the past.

If they tried doing so in the past and it didn't live up to expectations, they might not be willing to go through the same experience again unless they planned it out carefully and had contingency plans to keep it going in case the initial pitch doesn't work.
