Seriously the mane 6 members who were there with the fakes didn’t notices the differences in the cutie marks? Weird.

I had a hard time liking this one too cause it didn’t feel like much happened.

Absolutely a great episode. Really fun.

I was wondering a bit if this episode idea came from some kind of fanfic. Not that it matters of course. Twilight would be the boring, and obvious choice, and honestly not the most fun.

Found the ridiculusness of AL's lying pretty funny and Rarihoard's obssession made me think of Gollum. "My precious" you know. Gollum!

Man gota get rid that frog in my throut. Anyway, found pinkie's, and rd's evil the least interesting. Fluttershy's evil were good, and makes a lot of sense especially with regards to what happened at the Grand Galloping Gala. We all remember the "Your going to love me!" incidence. If that is what happens when you love something too much, this episode demonstrate what happens when you have no love for other creatures.

Apart from Chrysalis and her implied bloodlust, there really was not much to say about this episode.

Mean 6 themselves were good on paper, bad in practice, because they offed themselves at the climax of the episode, so were a non threat, since all they did was annoy Chrysalis and become disobedient, which I do admit was funny, but besides this, where is the action? Mane Six did not really have to worry about them because they did not even know what was happening, and at the end of the episode it was already too late as Mean Six had died, Chrysalis had lost her foot-soldiers before the war even began.

a villain without the drama in the story is a joke, the most generous I can give this, is mediocre, 5/10.

This episode basically wraps it all up for Queen Chrysalis.

Yes, she did go on to be a member of the legion of doom.

Her story as a character in the grand drama that is MLP FIM was not yet over by the end of this episode.

However, one thing was firmly and decisively established here, and it was a masterstroke.

Queen Chrysalis is really just a sad, somehow noir-esque, self defeating character.

She's just a criminal, perennially bested by her own flawed plans before she even takes her first steps in any undertaking.

She tried to recreate the Mane 6 in her own corrupted image, and they very nearly destroyed her.

Irony of ironies, the Harmony Tree saved Queen Chrysalis.

We cannot help some pony who is trying to hurt us.

We cannot stop some pony who has decided to hurt themselves.

We'd be foolish to try in the former case, and we have to understand that sometimes things don't work out how they should or how we'd prefer, in the latter case.

This episode is also really funny.

It's also terrible.

Thus, it is terribly funny.

Life has a sense of humor, a terrible sense of humor.

A friendly word of advice, learn to laugh.

Queen Chrysalis doesn't really laugh.

Her laughs are more like growls or howls.

Her laughs emote aggression.

She has very nearly no sense of humor at all, and thus she was entirely defeated by her own life.

We don't know what ultimately did or did not become of that statue.

Queen Chrysalis couldn't even die.

Nothing about life was satisfactory to her, she had to conform all existence to her own preferred patterns, as though life were nothing more than raw flesh.

Well, life is more than that.

As with Cozy Glow, Queen Chrysalis and Tirek are bad news.

They are handled in ways that make them not inappropriate for little kids, but the substance is there.

MLP FIM is about something, it's about many things.

Real things, important things.

It is one of the most courageous and wise kids shows ever produced, and it has a great deal of good reminders for adults.

Queen Chrysalis definitely is a sad case, she makes no effort to redeem, no effort to make amends for the hurt she has caused, even after being shown a non violent way to survive she pursues aggression toward Ponies in Equestria, it is a mature message but not one inappropriate for younger audiences. Starlight Glimmer did try to reason with her in To Where and Back Again, she did try to make Chrysalis see that her own lack of wisdom was causing her downfall, instead of being a true leader for her subjects and bring a sustainable future to herself and them, she chose a path of failure. Mean 6 episode did show this much about her character, losing her subjects was her own fault and in the end her villainy caught up with her, leading to her petrification in season 9.
