I'm not very sure, but I know I'm no saint. I think someone would have to really know me and observe how I act.

Hm... Well... Take a guess. :mlp_laugh:

Envy has been a strong one for me... Obviously. But I think I could argue for all of them except for maybe Lust. Pride is a complicated one because I could say that I generally doubt myself too much to have pride in myself at all. I could only make a weak case for wrath in me, as well, but... Can't say that completely. :worry: Just leave me to my routines and there'll be no wrath. :mlp_wink: Sloth, Gluttony, and Greed are... things I'm guilty of more substantially.

Pride.

And this one has actually surprised me because anyone who meets me irl tends to describe me as humble in my personality or approach to things.

The reason why I prefer humility is because when you approach anything with a humble mind, you are more prone to learning and exploring things like a curious child. If you jump into anything with hubris or avarice, you've closed yourself off from the potential of others, while blinding yourself and flying too close to the sun. You will be humbled against your will. It feels very foolish to me. Now, being overly confident is an entirely different thing. I do like seeing people being very confident of themselves and their skill or "showing off their vibrant feathers" out of pride of their accomplishment.. so this is not what I mean, either.

However, at the same time, when you do choose to be humble... you tend to attract a certain kind of individual. The kind who want to keep you down. The kind who do feel they are superior to you because you are humble and they underestimate your ability with their arrogance, smugness and entitlement...

I feel there is always something in this world trying to hurt people just for existing. Whether it's because you are different or you hold a different opinion on things -- something will be there to try to knock you down. If you hurt no one with your beliefs or opinion, why get attacked for it? Stand proud.

When I meet someone arrogant, putting someone else down, I evaluate them to see just what makes them so "superior." I see the insecurities they're so desperately trying to hide. The fact that they're human just like the person they're trying to keep down... and I instantly realise, "if they can be proud... why not the person they're trying to put down for no valid reason?"

This doesn't just extend to humans, either. Even when I'm in my garden, something as tiny as a little "roly poly" has a glowing little "will" inside of it, keeping it motivated to stay alive because it knows it's special. And its existence alone feeds some higher ecosystem that it is not even aware of. So that "will" or "pride" to exist as itself serves a higher purpose.

Your existence is unique and so long as you harm no one, there is no reason not to be proud to be you.

So, be proud. But humble... but not too humble that you're not proud. >:3
Yes. This makes sense in my head now. I think. :v

I think a lot of people in general misunderstand procrastination as laziness, when in reality the procrastination is masqueraded anxiety, low self esteem and intense fear of failure or rejection. Extremely important text that I think everyone should read, especially if they harbour feelings of shame about their unproductivity or procrastination.

Just a heads up to people mentioning Sloth as their 'deadly sin.'

I dunno about deadly sin tbh. Mine would be a mix of Wrath or Pride, I think. "Pride isn't the opposite of shame, but its source."

You know when I think about it if I were the one making the 7 Deadly Sins of the Catholics I'd not pick those ones. If you were to ask me Cowardice should be the most fatal deadly sin yet it's not considered as such... hmm. Wonder if "which traits would you consider deadly sins" is a thread idea.
