Possible ideas for an evil Twilight

This would be fascinating! She could be somewhat of a magical equivalent to this weird fanatical happiness cult. For those who don't know, this type of "Buddhism" preaches tolerance and compassion for all people, but believes the only way to find "true happiness" is through joining them (where, by the way, they treat their members with very little respect). Actually, TBH, the whole "Friendship School" kind of reminds me of this anyway, what with the belief Twilight seems to have that she needs to "teach" other societies about friendship in order for them to be happy - and more importantly, that they themselves are not able to learn it without her coming in to save them. Not really purposefully evil in either case, but definitely ignoring someone else's truth for the sake of a cause.

Those are awesome idea and I've mostly got an idea on how she could become an extremely powerful villan (even if, true, I'd join her side instantly)...

She could lure ponies to her side by her pure hot-ness and seductive stares (kind of what Midnight Sparkle does... ok, maybe just to me but AAANNNYYYYWAY) yeah, she should do that,

I don't see the appeal to evil Twilight being corrupted by light magic.

Maybe even on the level of Thanos. Going to such extremes, the prices don't matter...

My thoughts on an evil Twilight was having her be a terrible friend and lose everyone's trust. She would see friendship and her friends as tools. Evil one has embraced being manipulative and tricky to have control over others. In the end, she became a scourge to everyone. So she wants a clean slate and finds a way to make contact with a parallel world version of the good Twilight. So the evil one tricks good Twilight to swap places, good Twilight is stuck in the evil one's world while the evil one steals the identity of the good one.

Twilight has already been a Braniac-esque villain during the dark water arc. It was awesome and I'd be fine with it happening again in the main show

But it was worse than too late.  Twilight, using Tempest Shadow as a servant, busts into CAnterlot, defeats as many of the Storm King's Minions before defeating the Storm King.  She then takes the Staff of Sacanas to drain the petrified Celestia, Luna and Cadence of their magic before shattering them to pieces and taking over as Empress of Equestria, shedding her former title of Princess of Friendship.  This revelation shocked the Mane 5 and even Starlight Glimmer.  Twilight finally believed that ponies have gotten too weak over time, binding by the slavery called "Friendship."  To prove this, she summons the Windigos from their hiding and beats them in combat, enslaving them to her will.  And to make matters worse, she encourages every pony to abandon the ideals of friendship, and join her in conquering the planet.

Queen Novo took wind of what Twilight has become and challenged her to a fight, only to be bested by the Empress of Equestria.  Humiliated, Novo surrendered her forces to Twilight and forces her daughter to go into hiding, along with the Mane 5, Starlight, Spike, Tempest Shadow, and even Discord.  Equestria was entering a dark age lead by a failed student of Princess Celestia.

 

How's all that?

We open on Twilight attending a funeral for one of the mane 6. Celestia tries to comfort her but she lashes out and runs off as we go into the opening song. Personally I prefer the first one.

This is my idea of a Possible Evils twilight. seeing all her Get Murder by nightmare moon and get corrupted. 

From an alternate universe where Nightmare Moon destroyed her friends before they could defeat her. Twilight was able to use the power of the elements herself to revert Nightmare Moon back to Luna, but was corrupted by all the power in the process(and it turned her into an alicorn), and Luna has to live with the guilt of what happened. 

 

Corrupted Alternate Future Twilight sparkle: 

"Evil? I do what needs to be done. What my mentor refused to do. Even when she knew it was the right thing to do.

Luna? I more than likely will never truly forgive her for what she did to my friends, and she knows this.

But I still call her a friend. Why? Because I know she will never forgive herself for what happened, and she has vowed to spend eternity trying to make up for it.

I honestly don't know if she can. But I won't stop her.

Discord? Literally no one on the planet weeped when I got rid of him, and Celestia is a fool to say he could have ever changed.

Chrysalis? I knew my brother was dense, but I didn't think he was that stupid. But Cadance is more than happy to remind him.

Sombra? The Crystal Empire all but begged me to be their new Crystal Princess after that. I almost said yes too.

Tirek? Need I say more?

Starlight? Her heart was in the right place, but her ways would never haved worked. I made her my student for a reason.

Cozy Glow? Same problem as Starlight. But that's why I have them under my wings as my students.

And they both know what awaits them if they fall to darkness.

So yes. Call me evil for what I've done. Maybe I would have been different had Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash lived.

But I do this to make sure what happened to them never happens again
