Hug a Pony

Today is Hug a Pony Day, and I can't think of a better time that to test out the awards feature's capabilities than to turn  the function over to you. See a pony in need of a hug? Just want to let them know you are thinking of them? Send them a limited edition Hug! Badge.Here is how you do it

 

Click on the Awards Tab

 

 

Scroll down and look for the "Hug a Pony Day" award and click on "New Award". (Note that you you are on mobile you might have to switch to desktop view to see this.)

 

 

 

 

Choose the member and send them a message. Note that the message is public .... so BE CAREFUL.

@Cash In I'll probably let it run through the weekend TBH. Mostly for the reason you mentioned.

The system may not allow you to award someone the badge if they already have one. That's normal. Hunt for a pone that hasn't had one yet.

@Jeric Good call. I often find myself getting confused and forgetting things, since I'm 10 hours ahead.

Absolutely there will be plenty of these sort of community events. It's an ongoing thing and something I'm invested in making sure doesn't go away.

I ... Honestly don't know ....Buffy is set to handle the others. The Awards feature is actually simplistic and doesn't have many options so it's something I'm learning along with you.

@Jeric I give all awards out. Even community ones. 

It's my thing. Everypony can add their name in the reason field to tell who is behind the gifting of the Hug badge though.

I accidentally hugged everybody that I followed yesterday though.

On a serious note, I just had it awarded to me by Buffy. Was this sent by someone under the guise of Buffy?

Don't want to say anything about what is going on but I really don't like the idea that a random person can already edit a badge or even worse delete it. I can see how this can be used for trolling.

I agree on that. I thought the edit function was only for the people who gave the badge in the first place, but it seems not.
