Tulpa Discussion Thread V1.2

Rizoel & Crepuscule

Recommended Posts

Watched the fireworks with my Tulpa yesterday. Truly was a bonding experience between both of us. (Despite both of us being absolutely winded by the shockwaves from the finale. Who needs plain ol' fireworks when you can just set off 80 M-80s [1/8th of a stick of dynamite] into the air and blow out everyone's eardrums from 300 feet away?)

Interesting experience again, my tulpa used magic to add to that fireworks display. I could see and hear those extra fireworks as well. That was very amazing, and beautiful. Helped form a deeper friendship with my tulpa than before.

That sounds amazing, I hope you two are getting on well. ^_^

Question:

SIZE?

How big do y'all make your Talupas?

Mine will be slightly taller than me. However, if I was making a pony as originally planned, it would reach around the waist level of an averaged size person. Just my idea of the size of an MLP pony.

Body is about as tall as my legs, then her head about the size of at least half or two thirds of my torso.

Something that I'm planning to do in the weekend, where I have extended periods of quiet time alone, is to try a parroting method that reminds a bit of narration: I'll take two chairs, one for me, one for Pinkie (yes, my tupper), and place them in front of each other. We'll take seats and then do this sort of interview-estique conversation back and forth; at the first interview, she'll make a very long intro of who she is, what she does, what her opinions on things are, and so forth. I'll take notes while she talks so that there are further subjects to talk about.

When she's done, I'll ask about the subjects written down, continually writing down more notes as she answers. When we will sometime get tired of this, we'll just take a brake and continue later or tommorow and just talk about regular stuff outside these interviews. I plan to keep going like this for maybe a week. Then we'll do something else.

I'll write back sometime to tell people how this will work out. At the very least, it gives me something to talk to her about.

Mine's quite large, with it being Celestia and all. I haven't made a full measurement, but standing up, she is about 6ft tall. 5ft when sitting.

My tulpa's been sleeping on the same bed as me for the past few nights. I go to sleep feeling the weight of her head on my chest, her slow rhythmic breathing as she drifts off to sleep with me, and it's been helping me really get a feel of the tulpa subconsciously as well as consciously. Interesting and improving the bonding between us.

Is it normal for tulpas to physically change? Mine had no cutie mark but after it helped me in a dire situation, the next morning it had one. It had already told me of it's desire to have one but I didn't know it could just make it happen like that.

Yes. Especially when they're in the later stages of gaining sentience.

It's merely the tulpa settling into a personality and shape that feels more comfortable for it. Especially since it verbally showed it's desire for a cutie mark, it eventually changed it's appearance to include one.

Wow bris, that is quite large. I was not thinking that large. Hmm, rethink time!

I think I might just have to give this a try, I mean really it sounds awesome so why not at least give it a go?

I will have to read the guides in the morning however, tonight I am very tired. :P

After reading all the guides, several threads on other forums, and every post on this thread I have decided to make a tulpa.

As a matter of fact I saw this thread when it was first started and wanted to make a tulpa, but, after I finished writing some traits I gave up. (Back then I didn't have enough spare time in my life to spend it tulpaforcing.)

But anyways I still have some of the traits for my tulpa lying around somewhere and that should speed things up a little. It’s the visualisation I'm more worried about though. (I am not good at imaging physical objects in detail, hence why I'm no artist.)

But, yeah, good luck to those of you who have already started creating your tulpas.

With luck I should be able to start work on the personality tonight.

Ah. Yes. Tulpae. The unicorn to your left? Eeyup. My first and hopefully last. (I can't lose that much sleep again.) Turned out to be my best.

She tries to open up my laptop to see 'what blasphemy this is' whenever I watch ponies or work on a pixel art of her. I...hope...she's joking.

Lol, my Tulpa knows she's based off of a television show, (although her personality ended up quite different than the real Celestia, that's for sure) and she watches the show with me all the time.

Another event. My Tulpa saw herself in the mirror for the first time yesterday. She won't tell me why, but she could not stop looking at herself, I had to snap her out of it.

Okay, another question as I am beginning to start this. Do y'all shape the Tulpas in the cartoon style, or real horse style?

I think it is whatever you want, although I have yet to really look into it. You could make them humans with pony personalities if you want, I believe.

Hey guys, quick question.

Does it matter if your tulpa looks like a character, but has a different personality?

I don't think it would, but I just want to check.

It's just that I really want my tulpa to look like RD. (I have also been thinking that this may help with the visualisation, which is my main shortcoming.)

I do mine in a cartoon style. It appears as if Celestia herself from the show was cut out and put into reality. (However, shadows still will appear according to the light, which give her more of a 3D appearance)

If the Tulpa knows that it isn't that specific character, and knows that it isn't limited by the appearance and personality of it, then you should be fine. If going for this, make sure to remind your Tulpa of this constantly.

Thanks Bris. That answers a lot. Digging into that guide in the first post right now. Really, really excited about this. Hopefully mine likes school as much as me and can assist me at times. lol. There are days I need it. If not, ive still been getting good grades.

Well I finally read through this entire thread, and I have yet to look at the guides posted earlier. I will look at those, use the notes I have garnered from this thread, and then formulate something that works for me.

My biggest problem is what to make them like, I don't really want a pony (not that I don't like the idea, or that I don't plan on staying a brony, I plan on being one for life), but I just feel like I want something different. I am considering a human, but there are so many other things. Maybe a bard from dungeons and dragons...

Before I begin anything, extensive note taking and consideration shall be taken as to what I actually want in a Tulpa.

I'm doing mine in a 3D style. While not cartoony, she'll look pretty surreal because of the bright pink coat and mane. :P She's not going to look exactly like the show, but definitely not anything like a real horse. Kinda like Hashbro's 3D pony models. I'll be pulling a bit of inspiration from those when we work on her form.

Like Bris said, as long as she knows she isn't supposed to live up to or be exactly like the pony in the show, she'll turn out fine.

@Bris - Argh, you're making me so jealous! So is she fully imposed at this point? Or is she mostly imposed and you're still working on cementing her fully onto your senses?

Also, a tip for you all. Without a doubt, the single most important thing you can do for your tulpa is talk to it. From the very beginning, make sure you talk to it like it's a real person, and as though it can already understand you. This survey is for fluently speaking tulpa. There's a few questions about what was most beneficial in the forcing process, and nearly all the answers are narration.

So, to reiterate, always talk to your tulpa as if they were fully completed. Talk to them as much as you can. Out loud is better, but in your head is fine if there's people around. Just make sure you're directing your thoughts/voice towards your tulpa, not just talking to thin air. You'll get results and sentience much faster with plenty of narration.

Wow, this thread is very interesting.(Saw quite a few posts that actually sparked my interest in this) I am wondering however if there are any health hazards. The amount of concentration in a single thing doesn't sound very healthy to me =/
