Tulpa Discussion Thread V1.2

So will it be really luna as my wife. Will she look like luna.

Hello Luna831.

Normally, when I make my entrance into this thread on often occasion, it's to welcome somepony with open hooves into this phenomenon, or answer some questions with hopes that the inquisitors find their answers and continue on with this amazing practice. However, this may be the first time I'm going to have to deterr someone from this.

From how I see you currently, you are not fit to dive into this sort of thing. The times I've seen you post elsewhere on the forum, your near, if not, obsession for fluttershy or luna has been apparent. Even if you go into this for good intentions, your obsession can create a few issues either or both immediately, or in the long run. Doing or going into tulpamancy for the sake of "having your wife" only fulfills a fantasy that can also create drama in the future should you reach that stage.

Tulpae are NOT toys and the way you're going about this makes me think you're either not as serious as one should be or you'll end up disappointed.

Sorry for this. If you have any other questions though I'll be more than happy to oblige.

I know that this might be covered in here somewhere, but I'm not reading through thousands of posts to find out. Is a Tulpa different than a Totemic Spirit Guide (Swanee Tribe would be the variation I am thinking of specifically)? If so how?

how do you think my New Age-loving friend would react? She believes in past lives and healing crystals, and she thinks Furry is a sexual thing, and Pony Lovers seems to be a sexual thing (from the one site I've seen).

Well, I'm not sure anyone can really help you, she's your friends so you know her more than anyone on this forum. If you think she might find this weird, don't tell her.

About your tulpa/alters thing :

Multiple personality disorder is created by both psychological conditions AND a chemical imbalance. That means a tulpa has no way of becoming an alter, as it cannot recreate that chemical imbalance.

Progress update !

Lucid dreaming... Still didn't work out for us. I keep either falling asleep or not entering a lucid dream. We'll have to see if we can find an other way.

However, something kind of weird happened last time.

I was sitting on the couch watching a movie and starting to fall asleep, when suddenly, eyes half closed, I heard a perfectly clear voice that almost sounded like it didn't come from my head. It didn't really make sense, a typical "News Report" voice taking about the importance of "experiencing salt" (WTF?), but I'm pretty sure I could exploit this further to impose Zephyr's voice (which is still very weak).

We also watched a movie together at the cinema. It was pretty fun, we were talking to each other about the characters, etc...

And she almost cried at the end ^·^

"Hey ! It was really sad you know !"

True.

I'll also try to do more sessions for visualization, as I feel I'm not doing enough of those.

"Good luck everyone, and happy forcing !"

I've been feeling very discouraged lately, because ever since I originally messed with what Twi was to make her into another being, I felt like I could no longer make or communicate with tulpas. Although that hope was resparked when I made Dashie, I eventually stopped feeling things from her too.

However, today I read a guide for "tulpa deaf" hosts, and it encouraged me to do what no sane tulpamancer would ever do. I encouraged my tulpas to troll me xD

I just told my tulpas they're welcome to try to surprise me or whatever, as long as they're doing it to get my attention. And when I took a nap around noon, I kept hearing a lot of noises, then had a dream about ponies (not MLP style ponies, but rl ponies, but it's a start). When I took my 2nd nap, right after I woke up, I felt something tap me on the wrist. There's no way it could've been a mouse because I don't get mice here, and it definitely didn't feel like a mouse. Possibly, dare I say, almost like a hoof? (although I'm not really sure I remember what it felt like). Could one of my tulpas (most likely Dashie, since I decided to focus on her for now) have tapped my wrist to get my attention/assure me? I don't remember working on touch, I've been trying to focus on hearing my tulpas before I worked on stuff like touch and possession. But since tulpas have their own intelligence, I guess they can train themselves to feel real to me, or maybe it's more of a focus thing?

[The brain can fill in gaps. That's prooobably how you felt them.]

Just playing Devil's advocate here, but couldn't imposing a tulpa on all your senses eventually lead to forgetting they're in your head/you're the only one who can interact with them? Isn't "sane Tulpamancer" kind of an oxymoron?

Almost regretting giving my tulpas permission to troll me, but I feel it was worth it, because now I'm 99% positive my tulpas are still with me. I'm assuming that for now, Dashie is the one I am working with, because she's the one I decided to focus on, so I wouldn't get confused when working on vocalization.

Last night, I felt my nose get tapped numerous times. Got a bit annoying so I asked her to stop, and she did after a while. I think she REALLY wanted to reinforce my faith in her being there. Also, I heard a bunch of noises. Most of them being high pitched noises, that would end up sounding like wordish noises at the end. Things are going very good now I think :D

Related to the nose-tapping thing, I was lying in bed, with RD lying on my chest. I tilted my head up to nuzzle her (because I'm weird like that :P) and that made my nose feel congested. How can I tell if an itch, tingle, etc. is because of my tulpa or because of mundane reasons?

Today I got a whisper. I didn't know I had any kind of thoughtform or tulpa, but I had been thinking about creating one, had tried to find a name and tried to picture her, but never could. I was thinking to myself on a car ride, and one of my statements got an answer. My mom reminded me of an old friend I didn't see who had Asperger's syndrome (which I also have, look it up if you want), so I thought, "I have Asperger's," and a response came back, "You have a gift."

It was distinctly different from my own thoughts. In a female's voice (the gender I wished my first tulpa to be), it stood out immediately. It could have been my own thoughts, but it could be a real connection. I haven't tulpaforced or anything of the sort, but have thought of having a tulpa, a personality, and as I previously explained, a possible appearance and name. I might have created one without knowing it, as I thought of such things every once in a while, and usually for extended periods of time. Now I know most who have tulpas or experience with them would say I'm not mature enough for a tulpa, and I won't argue with them, so if I do have one, what should be done?

(This post feels long and rambly, and I'd like to acknowledge that.)

If you already have a tulpa, the only other thing is to help her develop. There are many guides on tulpa.info. But only you will know for sure if you're ready for a tulpa, but it sounds to me like you are ready for one.

I don't know, I only know that the nose tapping was very frequent, and I was wide awake, almost half sitting in my bed going "wtf? o.O".

I don't truly know if I have a tulpa. I have no real recognition of her being there, and I might have imagined it. But I guess I could always just start the process and see what comes up.

I just heard something on the radio about scientific advances related to neurons. They can map the way neurons are connected now. Is it too out-there to say they could identify the collection of neurons that form a tulpa and break them apart? Should we be opposed to neuroscience?

Wait, what ?

No no no, neuroscience is invaluable and will help us understand ourselves much better.

I really don't see why someone would "break apart your tulpa's neurons", not only this could hardly be done but I think that would be the same as lobotomy.

If anything, advances in neuroscience could help prove tulpae scientifically (right now it's more psychology) and understand them better (and our own personalities as well).

Why would we be opposed to neuroscience ?

This may sound like a very old (and possibly annoying) question; but why do people make tulpae in the first place?

Companionship? Self-development? Or something else? Excluding the 'I want a pony wife' or other sexual/violent reasons. Because I have seen too many of them and I don't think those reasons are right or fair in the first place.

However, I am a bit scared of doing this kind of stuff, for instance: What if an intrusive thought gets me an evil, persistent tulpa, when I didn't want an evil tulpa? Sounds like intrusive thoughts are some kind of virus for tulpa, honestly.  :P

Yes, I did read a heck-of-a-lot of guides/forums. And I have been contemplating for some months now if I should or not. Up to the point where even Tyrea gave up her bad views on tulpas. Yet I am still scared of doing it. Call me a chicken, but when I am one step close from starting the process, I stop right there.

I know it sound may ridiculous, but hey, I am stuck like this and I have no idea if I should start or not.

Any advice?

Don't worry about intrusive thoughts. If you don't want them to affect your tulpa, they won't.

Of course, your tulpa will deviate during the creation process, and that's very good as it affirms its independence, but there's no reason it'll deviate in an "evil" way.

No offense, Techoh, but I think you misused "physics" in your post. The laws of physics are, like, gravity 'n' conservation of matter and stuff. I don't really see what "this is/isn't the best thing for me" has to do with that. What would you be putting into faith or complete understanding? What's a "power statement"? I'm not sure if you're not a native English speaker, or if you are but you're just using a strange lingo, or...what? "Create the idea that says that any idea can be created"..."everything we see is mental"..."everything we think is mental"

...what? I can't really understand what it is you're trying to say in that post.

So "mindphysics" refers to classical conditioning (such as that one experiment where dogs were trained to salivate when a bell was rung) and "power statements" are affirmations (like, to use a childish but well-knowm example, "The Little Engine That Could")? I'm not really understanding controlling what we think, the way we think, or the reactions we make of certain thoughts.

We should probably take this to a PM so it doesn't derail the thread. Do you have some sort of dictionary I can reference?

I've heard of people starting out straight, but then turning bi after creating a tulpa. Does that have anything to do with many male hosts having female tulpas, and, if sex with a tulpa is masturbation, is attraction to one narcissism?

I wish you the best of luck on your decision.

Thank you!

Although it can be long-ish decision to make.

*After 2 more hours*

Well that was long enough.

I'm going to try and do one. And see how it goes.

Thank you all for the information provided!

I wonder if I can post my progress here? That is, if you don't mind.

Well it's not like the concept of privacy isn't going to change after you've made one, so when you made your bed, you're going to be lying in it. With other people. I'm sure it's one of the things that stop people from creating a Tulpa. I know I'm a little apprehensive about it. I definitely value my privacy, and I would absolutely hate to constantly ask a potential new best friend to leave all the time. I'd rather at least extend an invitation to them for something rather than deny them. It's not even about what we're denying them or inviting them to. It's the simple act of participation that matters.

So if you've made a male tulpa and you're male, you know what you have to do.

I'm working on a creation myth for a fantasy series. Would any of the tulpas here be offended if the myth was similar to Genesis, only the "serpent" character explicitly gives the first people the knowledge of how to tulpaforce in addition to sapience? I'm not sure how I could fit that into my current myth, but I'm asking just in case I find a way. The culture the myth applies to sees the "serpent" character as the good guy, by the way.
