Will someone die in the finale?

This would be an incredibly stupid idea. The advertising for this season has already been depressing enough and doing this would have the show end on a rather bleak note. Not that it matters much to me anymore, but the least they can do is make for a good ending, hopefully.

This show barely acknowledged Tank, Pear Butter and Bright Mac's "deaths" so, no, I don't think anypony will die in the series finale.

Plus, I agree with @Kyoshi that it would be a really depressing thing to end on considering this show is about colorful talking ponies.

I don't even believe that King Sombra is dead, so no, I don't think so. If someone had to die in the finale, Grogar's the only candidate I'd put money on, but I feel implications of characters being alive prior to the events of the show now being dead is the farthest we're going to get.

Death is NOT an answer in MLP.  It's a kids show!

HA HA!  That'd be nice.  But no.  (I don't mean a protagonist, but, y'know, a villain actually dying would be cool.)

Yeah.  You're right.  They could never kill any character in something made for kids.  That never works.

Aside from the villains - which would probably be unlikely as it is, I don't really see it happening, as it would cause a massive rift in tone as well as within the fandom. That wouldn't exactly be ideal, especially in the final episodes.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

It’s a completely different show about world about people who control the elements at war with the Fire Nation. This show is about freaking magic, candy colored horses spreading the magic of friendship

They might kill Grogar, I don't know about the other three. Good guy character wise... I could see them symbolizing that Celestia and Luna might have to "leave" in a way that symbolizes death. Other than that... no way.

I doubt they would kill even Grogar - they managed to "unkill" Sombra after all, so presumably Grogar will just be banished back to wherever he has been since he lost his bell...
