So. Anyone a fan of Electro Swing? I don't seem to have found one in the thread listing, but if there is an existing one, please let let me know.

Hmm. Not entirely sure if Electric Slide would count to be honest. First time hearing of the genre. Will check it out.

If you want some sweet sweet dance moves to go with the music, feel free to check out takeSomeCrime.

I came into this topic like "Nah, most likely not." I only very sparingly like any electronic music, and the taking of a very old genre and turning it into something electronic when it already had a fantastic instrumentation just makes me sad. Just my personal opinion.

But then I listened to that song the OP posted and... I don't understand what about that song is "swing"? Electroswing must have an entirely different definition from what I assumed.

I haven't heard of that type of music before, but it sounds cool!

Been listening to Swingrowers a lot at work.

Oh, and can't forget Caravan Palace either!

Each to their own, love.

Electro Swing is a genre taking vintage or modern Swing or Jazz and mix it with EDM, House or Hip hop. It's to make Jazz/Swing more modern but still retain that dance floor-esque feel to it.

Oh, and got plenty of people dancing to the genre, too.

I wouldn't consider myself an electro swing fan but I do have this one song in my favorites playlists. Don't remember how I came across it but it sounded really catchy at the time

I'm working on a paper and found that there's a new song that just premiered mins ago:

Glenn Gatsby - Lovefool (Electro Swing Mix)

Also here's another fun song:

Balduin & Wolfgang Lohr feat. J Fitz - Magic Man

One more for the road:

The Soulmate Project & Wolfgang Lohr - Ein Tag wie Gold (Electric Swing Mix)

Okay I lied, here's another one that came to mind! It's arguably the most catchy one out of these songs:

Peggy Suave - Posin'

There was a time when electro swing was still the freshest style around and I thought it would dominate music for a while (this was before I got super engrained into drum and bass) but it got overshadowed heavily by future bass. It felt very fun but also wasn't super aggressive like brostep or big room.

I wonder if there's a "dark" electro swing thing happening. That'd be super interesting since this specific genre is super happy in tone. It'd be like dubstep coming out as a darker reaction to the happy UK garage stuff that was coming out around late 90s - early 2000s.

Anyways, loved Caravan Palace, Parov Stelar and Electric Swing Circus back then! I have no idea about what's around now. I lost touch with it around 2014 or 2015, but I'm gonna save some of these newer ones for later. to listen at low volume for... reasons
