music What music has got you through some bleak times

"Island in the Sun" by Wheezer. It has a low kind of relaxed sound to it overall but is also upbeat and hopeful. It was playing a lot during a part of my life where I felt low and was one of the few seemingly good things. It's something to play when things are good or bad.

Green Day. Most of their songs almost all, does.  I grow up with it and it was actually my first favorite band. I love myself some old school punk rock. It seems that every time I grew older and faced new struggles and challenges I’d always come back to listening to Green Day and rediscovered a song that could relate to that moment. So as times passed, it always has been that way till this day. You would notice how I always love quoting their lyrics. I know all by heart. I wouldn’t know how to cope if Green Day never exist. I have another music interests but Green Day is everything to me.

As my other song interests, I love listening to jazz or Elvis, just to be carefree or if I feel a bit lost in time like homesick. Gorillaz is my go-to to enjoy some good vibe. K-pop is just to enjoy as well.

"I'm The Moon" from Five Dimes and "Until I relapse" from Eminent. These are some of those songs that you listen to and realize. "They were real all along". Because we all need that sage advice that only rappers can give sometimes. Especially with "All Money no Hoes" from BleakBoy and G-Herbal. It sounds like a brand of tea, I know. But believe me when I tell you it is just as comforting.

"Compositions For Piano" By Benn Jordan (The Flashbulb)

This is one of those albums that not necessarily helped me through the dark times, but this album literally changed my life in some ways
and what ultimately lead me to where I am today. Both musically and emotionally
This is an album I can put on when I'm feeling down, feeling up, relaxed, tense, etc. Each listen gives me thoughts of interesting moments in my life and I sometimes go about my day with some of these compositions in my head.

Ghost's Impera album for this past year. Which is why I spent an arm and a leg on tickets for their concert over the summer. Although that was mostly because I wanted decent seats and the meet and greet with Amon Amarth.

This one being one. Hymn to a Blue Hour. https://youtu.be/rwBsTzKajvo

There’s more but that’s just one. I subbed 2nd trombone for a friend once my senior year in high school. I love the strong moments… because I’m a trombonist.

I have a playlist just for comfort songs. Among my favorites are ‘Smile’ by Charlie Chaplin (possibly my favorite song ever), ‘I See the Light’ from Tangled, ‘Cheer Up Charlie’ from Willy Wonka, ‘Pinky’s Smile Song’ from some pony show, ‘Clair de Lune’, ‘O Mio Babbino Caro’ sung by Amira Willighagen, ‘What a Wonderful World’, ‘Take me Home, Country Roads’, ‘Say a Prayer for Me Tonight’, ‘Hushaby Mountain’, and several Jimmy Durante songs like ‘Make Someone Happy’, ‘Smile’, and ‘Glory of Love.’ I could name a bunch more, but that could run into some lengthy discourse.
