The Dreamcast console is my favourite console but with Current Gen stuff I like the Wii I like the PS3 I hate the Xbox 360 and I love the PC.

Ok, while you are at that I will be enjoying bluray and better exclusives such as uncharted and infamous. Better games Puh-leeze where do you get your twisted view of good? GoW is mediocre at best, and don't even get me started on halo, eff that game.

The only differences between PS3 and Xbox 360 are Xbox Live/PSN, Blu-Ray capability, and exclusive games. The only real reason to choose one over the other here is the last one. If you have a 360 because you prefer the likes of Gears of War and Halo (I don't have a 360 so help me out here those who do) over Uncharted, inFamous, Ratchet & Clank, LittleBigPlanet, etc., or vice versa, that's fine. Blu-Ray does allow PS3 exclusives to have more content, but few developers actually cram it full because it's a lot harder to do so than it is for a DVD. The only game I know of that takes full advantage of this is inFamous 2. Blu-Ray movies are pretty much a non-factor at this point. Why can't we leave it at that?

 

Regarding the poll, I have a PS3, 3DS, and Wii. This doesn't reflect what I think is best for gaming, because PC wins in a landslide in pretty much every respect except cost-effectiveness (gaming comps cost tons of money) and portability (DS, Vita, and graphing calc win there, although I suppose you could game on a laptop. But still, the point stands that the DS, Vita, and calc are easier to carry around).

The only thing I would use it for would be bluray and the browser. Thats it. Maybe as a door stopper. And even then, I dont watch movies like that. And I have a computer. So now its pretty much just a door stopper.

You're right about Halo. Halo 1 and Halo 3 campaigns were the only thing I liked about it. Multiplayer is the same thing over and over again. Reach was...bleh.

GoW is god. No exceptions.

Never played Uncharted or Infamous so I cant exactly say anything about them. They also have no real appeal to me that makes me wanna play them. I will give you LBP though. I want to play the hell out of that game.

funny thing is that I just bought my Wii just for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and the game worth it, all the games that I've had later were plus. The NintendoDS were a succesful console, I loved it, I spent too many hours playing all the games I bought (and I still want more!), sadly mi DS is on the verge of dying (it is the brick one that was released in 2005), but it's still alive. Now, the PS3 (and XBOX) are equally awesome and has a lot of awesome games for sure (I own a PS3, not an XBOX 360). I've never considered PC as a gaming console, and i'm not planing to use it to play videogames, maybe because i'm a ocasional gamer (don't get me wrong, I love them. I can't live without videogames) but not a 'harcore' gamer per se.

I was never trying to start an internet fight. When I did own my working xbox I loved it more than anything, I played the shit out of cod and dragon age. But when it started to fail, I was literally pissed, I had a butt ton of achievements, in ps3 speak I would have platinumed half the games I owned for it. So that is why I bought another one, and it was good for about a year, and it failed again. I sent it in because it had the warranty and they sent me a refurbished one that was glitchy, it would freeze a whole bunch, scratch up my disks and then finally red rings. So I buckled down and told myself I was never getting a xbox again, about a year and a half later and no problems on my part. Love it so much and I have managed to get a lot of trophies over the span of the last year.

As for the loss of my achievements, I am sure my account is floating around somewhere out there. And for the party chat, I loved that sooooo much, I really did. But like you all of my friends had the same system, unlike you they all had ps3. So that was another reason why I buckled down and got a ps3. When we all want to join something similar to a party chat, we used to use vent, but I rented the server and it got spendy. So we use steam now, I just bring my macbook pro out into my living room, boot up my ps3, turn on vent with my turtle beach headset and we game our hearts out.

I was not talking about favorite systems of all time, I wanted to see what current generation systems bronies used, sorry about the lack of older gen systems.

I prefer ALL the games on ALL the consoles, I don't really have a favorite. Except for PC games. I don't play games on my PC as much, and I don't even play new games on it, at that.

I beg to differ, it counts, I happen to really enjoy all systems, including xbox (when its not me paying for the system). I still play the wii on occasion, because I love to replay twilight princess and majors mask. The reason why I posted this thread, is so I could gain a better understanding of how the bronies operate as a whole. Now, I know bronies are people too (and people are way different in every aspect because people are individuals) but I guess I was just hoping for a correlation in preferences. prefer my old school stuff like my NES and SNES because they still work after this long and so do the games, just try and find a old this gen game with a disc that doesnt look like a monkey went nuts with a wirebrush.

meh but if i have to pick a new gen console it will have to be the xbox 360 because I only recently had to replace the first one I got 6 years ago but that was because i got the newest one free with my phone contract.

I don't care much that my laptop isn't some mega-expensive, ultra-gaming-ready gaming computer as long as it does what I want it to do at a good pace, mainly internet browsing, multi-tasking in terms of internet browser + word processor + anything else I feel like having up, and occasional gaming if I feel like it.

 

Although if I had to pick a console, I'd say PS2. The ability to play all of the PS1 and PS2 games I own without getting as much memory as the console can support or downloading them is more important to me than awesome graphics.

The ps2 is one of my all time favorite consoles, I played so much kingdom hearts that I started to have dreams.

PC hands down. Plays modern games and emulation keeps getting better. Throw DOSBox on a windows 7 rig and you have a vast amount of backward compatibility that was only rivialed by the old fat PS3s that could play PS1, 2 & 3 games. With any luck, AMD's Kaveri will have a better IMC which would in turn make Fusion more viable for gaming, thus lowering the cost of entry, but I doubt it.
