I would go so far as to say that the TPS elements added in later games of R&C are what make the newer games better. R&C1 is more difficult than it needs to be because it doesn't have typical TPS elements such as the strafe button.

 

I just remembered Valkyrie Profile 2 and I'll mark it down as being my favorite game from the PS2 era, as well as my 4th all time favorite RPG. With a game so gorgeous and intuitive as this, you would really think it's a PS3 game.

I still want this game. After seeing gameplay of it a few months ago I was simply amazed by how advanced the battles seemed to look. The particle affects were absolutely amazing.

Y'know, with the price being amazingly low for this particular game and if you ever get the chance to pick-up a copy, you should definitely do it. It's really one of those games that more people should of played just because of the experience.

If I had a job I'd be all over it for sure. Being jobless sucks when there are still so many games out there I haven't played. Tons of RPGs on the PS2 I've yet to explore!

And then there was Cricket 07. Being a fan of the Pom's sport made me buy this one and I have to say, it may not be that good a game, but it was definitely among my favourites:

But these games are just two of my favourites. I've played Call of Duty 1-3, every single Need for Speed available for the PS2 and also all the Ace Combats available for PS2 as well. I was never really interested in RPG's until Skyrim came along (to be honest, I only played it because of the FUS RO DAH meme).

ive played the ratchet and clank series so much on PS2 defiantly the best games on it

I'm terrible at organizing favourites, but I always loved the Final Fantasy series.

 

I've only played Final Fantasy III for SNES (VI for GBA or something, but i grew up with III for SNES so that's what I'm used to calling it), FFX for PS2, and FFXII for PS2. FFXII is probably my favourite Final Fantasy game... Balthier is epic lol

 

I also like Ratchet and Clank, I used to own Ratchet and Clank (the first one), Going Commando, Up Your Arsenal, and Ratchet Deadlocked all at the same time at one point, but I think we lost most of them except for Up Your Arsenal.

 

I also played Jak 3 and it was pretty cool. It was a while ago and I only played it once because the ending was really hard for me so I forget most of it lol

 

I haven't touched my PS2 ever since I got my Wii two christmases ago... which reminds me, slightly off-topic:

 

2 Christmases ago I got a white Wii, then my brother bricked it or something and we got a blue Wii next Christmas (totally RD coloured)

 

 

 

Anyways... I also like the hockey games for PS2, preferably the EA ones over the ESPN ones. I also have NHL Slapshot for my Wii. It's definitely one of my favourites, and it makes sense because I'm Canadian

 

I've played Kingdom Hearts but I didn't find it extremely awesome. It was good but... idk, not exactly a favourite.

 

And of course there's Grand Theft Auto...

My favorite ps2 game is Spider man 2: the video game. I just swing around the city and nothing else. I find its really relaxing and kinda fun. The later games really messed up the swing system.
