Strange Pet Behaviours

My dog is rather weird. ô-õ

She doesn't like swimming very much for a Golden Retriever (she fell in the water a few times when little, so I'm assuming she's afraid of it), but she only drinks water from the pool. We can put a water bowl there, but she'll go for the pool instead.

Another interesting fact is that she keeps scratching and barking at her food bowl (even when there's food in it), like she's angry at it. I don't know if she wants to dig, or if she wants to move it a little to the side, but it happens very often. :|

She used to lick wall sockets when little as well. Hopefully we had no accidents with it though.

Having 4 cats I'm rather used to them pawing at the water bowl or scratching to cover food, but I have one cat who scratches the floor around the water bowl while she drinks. It basically looks like she is either trying to make the bowl bigger, or trying to swim. I have no idea why she does it and it cracks me up.

She's also been known to bury her nose in one's armpit to get a big whiff, then pulls her head up with her mouth open and a weird look on her face like it's the most amazing thing she's ever smelled. It's not something we encourage.

Also, whenever we're eating and the dog sits there and begs the boy cat has to come sit right next to her and beg alongside her. He's so much like a dog I wouldn't be surprised to hear him bark.

My 2 year old Jack Russel mix always does this after it gets a bath:

Dead serious, it just does that for 15 minutes and then starts rolling around like an idiot.

I tend to take the high road, get stoned, and fly low . . .

Also, my dog does this as well. Even when we put her in her cage temporarily she goes insane. lol.

As for the sweat, most animals just want the salt out of it. My cat will do that with my hand after I've been outside on a hot day.

Crazy thing about here is that she adores water. She always asks to get a drink from the sink's faucet even if both water bowls are full (cat and a dog). That's not it though, if we fill up the tub a little bit, she'll jump in and play with the water. This seems to be constant with most of the cats I've had though. xD Two of them tried to drink from the toilet and fell in. My current one just kind of stood in there for a bit though as if she was thinking "...some thing's not quite right here.. but I can't put my paw on it."

The other just freaked out and ran.

A family friends' small cat ruled over two Irish Wolf Hounds(which are on average a tad bigger than Great Danes, for those who don't know) and would steal their giant dog bones we got them.
