I don't know if anyone here mentioned Tim Hecker yet. That dude is amazing. Harmony In Ultraviolet and Radio Amor are incredibly beautiful albums.

If you want calming music, you should take a listen to some of the tracks in Final Fantasy VIII. The following two tracks are of the same melody, but present themselves in a very different way. They flow very smoothly though, and is truly mesmerizing. I sometimes get sleepy just listening to this and going around in circles in the confusing labyrinths that "Find Your Way" plays in!

Theme for your home "Garden" facility.

Plays during labyrinths, caves, ruins, etc.

Hope this song fits in the ambient category.. the bass is a little punchy, so I doubt you'd be falling asleep listening to this, but that isn't to say you can't forget about your worries and troubles for 5.5 minutes.

I do love me some ambient music. If I can just close my eyes, lean back, and lose myself in the mental imagery, it's great.

Now for some I love.

The feels this next one gives. THE FEELS!

And you did say Drum'n'Bass was fine, and I don't know if this would necessarily be ambience, but I love it so.

No ambient music amounts or will ever amount in the history of mankind, to the genius creations of Jeremy Soule, composer of all the Elder Scrolls soundtracks from Morrowind to Skyrim.
