Haha I'm a madwoman, motorcycles and fast vehicles and thrill rides, love em. The screaming eagle is sortof a swing hammer that goes quite fast, if it was a clock you would go from 2 o'clock to 10 o'clock very high in the air, you are strapped into a semi chair like seat and go very nearly upside down.

Dang I don't think I've seen that before... I might have to research it when I have time. I'm more in it for the drops and the banking. I just think it's awesome when the track banks steeply.

Just uploaded another new video not too long ago. A point of view of Boomerang at Six Flags Fiesta Texas:

I also drove by Six Flags Over Texas today, only to be delighted by a new paint job (still in progress) on Shockwave!

I've never seen that coaster look so good; ever! Then again, I've only seen it once. How often do you get to visit Six Flags Over Texas?

I live about 45 minutes away, but I don't really visit in the summer due to the 105+ degree heat that we usually have. During the spring and fall though, I might go once or twice a month.

Have any of rode on the Eagle in Dolly Wood? It is f***ing awesome. Its one of those coaster that leaves your feet dangling in the air, and the first drop goes straight down. On every turn there are loops, spirals. Its the fastest and all in all best coaster I've been on :3

I wish! Wild Eagle looks brilliant! Although the drop isn't technically straight down, it's pretty close! The zero-g roll and the corkscrew (the second and fourth loops) look so epic! What was your favorite part of the ride?

@EpicMuffinTime In all honesty it looks awesome! The landscape around the ride is what gets me. The way the lift molds with the ground is just awesome.

@CoasterCrutchfield Awesome! Those coasters never have looked so good.

I'm insanely sad about this... :( I dunno, it just seems so strange to know that Kings Island's skyline will be SOB free...

http://www.telly.com/I2BGW?fromtwitvid=1 video of them taking down the track that's missing from the image up top...

Son of Beast was one of those coasters that always taunted me in my childhood. By that, I mean I dreamed of one day riding it, and I knew all about it. It's sad to see it go... I thought Rocky Mountain Coasters could have brought it back to life, but I guess the whole concept of going upside-down on a wooden coaster is not a novel one anymore. (Son of Beast was a hipster!)

Yeah I thought Rocky Mountain could've done something great with it. I mean look what their doing to Rattler. Then again, the supports were falling apart from no maintenance so it's more cost effective just to tear it down.

Oh wow the Shockwave looks really good now. Reminds me of green hill zone from Sonic 1.

Confession time. Thanks to my dad forcing me onto a rollercoaster at age 5 and him and my idiot cousins overexaggerating it and saying how people have died on them during the wait in line, I am pretty much deathly afraid of these things. I keep trying to get on one here in six flags over Texas to finally get over this phobia but to no avail. The one I was forced on was the Shockwave itself actually. I almost got on it and the Titan last year I went but just couldn't go through with it.

I have to say my favorite parts were the first loop and the double corkscrew at the end. I rode on it with my friend. It took forever to get on cause the line was so long. It was worth the wait :3

@, Why did you start filming POVs with a panoramic camera? No offense, but I don't really care to see what a coaster ride would look like from a squid's point of view. It's really bugging me how everyone is suddenly switching to these "new, great" GoPros. Sorry for the sudden rant, you have awesome videos anyway, but it's just a really bug pet peeve of mine, and I miss your other 1080p camera!

Oh, haha. I have only used them when I wasn't able to get permission from parks to use my bigger camera. I'm not really a fan of fish eye cameras anyway, but I have to do what I have to do. Don't worry though, because I'm going to be getting a new POV camera that will pretty much look identical to my Sony camera.

Here is actually a video using the same camera that I am getting (though the person using it is not very good at keeping it still...)

@

I actually filmed that point of view video you posted believe it or not. I used to film some stuff for TheCoasterViews back in 2011 in exchange for advertisement of my page and videos. I haven't really talked to him in a while though...

But I thought that I would like to let you know that little cool fact.

I love coasters but have only been to a couple of park. So far my favorite is probably either the Viper (I am a sucker for wooden coasters) or for metal the Raging Bull

but again I freely admit I need to go to many more parks

Those are pretty solid roller coasters... I have yet to go on Viper though. As for Raging Bull, it is one of my favorites...

Yay! Another YouTube video! A point of view of the Road Runner Express at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It's a surprisingly fun ride:

That is one underrated roller coaster in the family department.

There has been a new coaster announced for Liseberg Park in Sweden for 2014. Looks pretty sweet!

In 2014 Liseberg will launch a new roller coaster - longer and faster than the any other coaster in the park. It’s the parks biggest investment ever. The working title of the project is Projekt Helix.

- It has extra of everything! The ambition is to build a ride which is two minutes of pure fun. When we built Balder, we built the world’s best wooden roller coaster, so we have a high standard to live up to, says Andreas Andersen, president and CEO of Liseberg.

The track is almost 1,4 km (4500 feet) long and the ride lasts for almost two minutes. Along the track are two launches where the coaster is accelerated using Linear Synchronous Motors (LSM). It will be the first multi-launch coaster in Europe. The ride will include six inversions, four airtime hills and plenty of drops, turns and twists.

With speeds up to 100 km/h (62 mph) this new coaster will be the fastest one in the park. It will also be the most technologically advanced coaster in the park. It’s manufactured by the German company Mack Rides Gmb.

- With Mack Rides’s Blue Fire technology we can offer a ride that has comfort, smoothness and freedom. You can do almost anything with the track system and we have tried to use that advantage to the limit, says Andreas Andersen.

The construction work will start as soon as the park closes this fall and continue over next year. The 3D-cinema Maxxima will close for good in order to make room for the new coaster station building. And the new roller coaster will premiere in spring 2014.

Projekt Helix - facts:

Investment: 200 million SEK (€ 23 million)

Total length: app. 1 355 m (4 445 feet)

Max velocity: 100 km/h (62 mph)

Max height: 41 m (135 feet)

Max acceleration: 4,2 g

Total ride cycle time: 110 seconds

Capacity: app. 1 310 passengers per hour

Appendix:

The new roller coaster will use lap bars as restraints for the passengers and it has special, so called, “Big boys”-seats on row 10 of each train.

Projekt Helix will have its own website: http://www.projekthelix.se.

Liseberg currently has three major roller coasters: Lisebergbanan (1987), Balder (2003) and Kanonen (2005). Over the years Liseberg has also hosted coasters such as: Berg- och dalbanan (1923-1987), Super 8 (1966-1979), Lisebergsloopen (1980-1995) and HangOver (1996-2002).

Furthermore, Liseberg has had a number of roller coasters for children. The first one was called Lilla Bergbanan and opened in 1977. It was commonly called Lady Bug because if the trains design being modeled after a Lady bug. In 1986 the attraction was redesigned and it’s name was changed to Cirkusexpressen, until 2008 when it was replaced by a new roller coaster called Rabalder, which is still in the park. In 2013 Liseberg will launch another coaster for even smaller children - Stampbanan.

And some cool pictures!

Haha yep! Kingda Ka really is an awesome coater! It's still the tallest, but the fastest is now a coaster called Formula Rossa at in Dubai.

Just saw the video, I still think KK looks more impressive and intimidating because of its height. FR just looks plain thrilling
