Changeling Behemoths [Final + WIP + Time lapse]

My previous work Trix Unleashed was a rather fast one, though useful for sure. But the one I think set the bar for me was First Contact War, Griffon So I'll have something to aim for because the reaction were so positive

This time changelings were swarming my head, and I was curious to see how much they differ from normal Ponies. Also adding in a creation of my own :P

A lot more static image but the amount of characters have been doubled! (sorry!)

So many changeling already... and all with horns and wings and holes and... things like transparency in the wings

They're an interesting bunch though. And I think definitely worth looking at for other works ... not that there's not plenty of options already  within MLP alone...

I am recording this one (20x speed), so I'll have a timelapse video to accompany it in the end.

Edit: I noticed the changelings have only been changing into somepony of their own size. So I imagined what it would take to have one change into a bigger creature, like a Manticore!

Well, consider me blown aay

The behemoth's leg seem s a bit to long, maybe shorten it

Maybe make Crysalis neck a bit thinner to giver her a more gaunt (gaunter?) appearence.

behemoth looks a bit bold mybe give him a headcomb

maybe add a banner somewhere

My Art Thread, updated (almost) daily

Tomorrow will take us away, far from home

No one will ever know our names

But the bard songs will remain.

Was working on an update already and also noticed some of the same things.

Especially now looking back at my new update, the Behemoth body to leg part gives of an entirely wrong impression  I really have to fix that. Including his head, I noticed I've been forgetting a lot of the Fins the changeling have behind their ears.

And I also felt like Chrysalis was a bit too heavy, something with the shape of her front body, combined with the position of the hair and head, I'll definitely work on her some more. I've build her proportions heavier than the show.

Might end up slicing her in pieces and stitching her back together.

Breaking up the big blob of changelings in the image with something like a banner or more flying changelings or something could be a good idea too yes.

Trying to get all those changelings right, and I'm still only working on those close by :P

Update 1 (WIP 4):

Update 2: [WIP 5 + 6]

Alright, I thought I'd update my progress again since I've added colours and revisited just about every changeling I've had.

Might have to do a second run on them though. Tried to fix some thing, Like Chrysalis her big head :P

Still playing around with the colours though, their colour scheme isn't really that... colourful

I'm glad that the main focus, Chrysalis has the hair that she does, gives me something more to work with.

It was great fun doing those distant changeling, foggy shadowy figures, trying to get the basic elements that make them recognizable as changeling. Which I hope worked out!

Though fairly rough yes :P

PS: With the way I'm creating things lately... I feel like I should have a blog?

Update 3: Final + Time lapse

Al right, the final stretch for this one.

*calculates total time spent*

.... Waaa... just 4,8 hours?

Ok... it does show I guess :P

Soo, sooo many changelings.

I think it looks awesome! And only 4.8 hours? Wow. And please excuse my ultra noobishness, but what program do you use?

Thanks,

I honestly thought for myself it also took longer, but I don't think the math fails here, recording at 20x speed, 14:20 min of footage, 14 min times 20 is already 280 min or 4.6+ hour

Anyhow, to answer your question (which is not noobish, but a proper question) I used Photoshop CS5.1

To any pony out there, feel free to ask questions, just a friendly reminder

I was afraid you were going to say that...... Damn, now I need to learn how to use ANOTHER program. Looks good though.
