I didn't knew exactly where to post this, but I had to post it somewhere as soon as possible. I just found this picture in a not very reliable source and it had me to jaw-drop. Guess who's back?...

 

 

 

Now, if this picture is real or not, I have no idea. Little I know about it.... I just wonder, if it IS real, maybe Lauren Faust is the one behind it? Maybe that's why she left MLP:FiM a while ago, to revive PPG?

 

Again, little I know about this very picture, or about Lauren's steps and movements. But what if?

I wouldn't be too surprised if they did come back, Teen Titans made a reappearance albeit as a new shorts cartoon and is said to have a new show coming out in 2013 as well. This five year-frame, a lot of old popular cartoons seem to be making a comeback in one way shape or form.

I have my doubts, but if they brought it back, that'd be sweet! I loved watching that as a kid and anything made by Lauren Faust is amazingly high quality.

I seriously hope that this is legit. I loved watching the Power Puff Girls as a kid, maybe even more than the likes of 'Dexter's Laboratory' or 'Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy' (which would be an incredible feat indeed)! I would definitely watch every episode whenever they air, and then when I'm bored, I'd watch them again, then again and again

I still doubt this. This image in particular is getting REALLY popular and it worries me. Something about it just doesn't look right.

Its just way too ambiguous to tell if this is a fake or not.

 

I saw an article that some people were posting along with the image (I'll link it if I can find it) but it basically outlines the "development" plans the show is going under. It was made WAY back in 2010 and it mentioned Lauren Faust and Craig McCracken moving in with Billionfold Inc. (famous for Nickelodeon shows like Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom).

There was much discussion in the comments section about the credibility of the article because it mentions Lauren Faust "left My Little Pony Friendship is Magic after its production ceased after 2 and a half seasons." Which is creepily accurate, BUT the article was mentioned in 2010! 2 YEARS AGO!

There is no way they could've known that Season 3 by then was to be half length of the other 2 seasons and thus really questions the whole credibility of the whole piece.

 

Now this could be completely unrelated to said article, but convincing fakes of this show's reboot are not new. Its a popular series that is getting new attention due to people falling back in love with Lauren Faust's style and thus is a show many people would love to see rebooted.

But in reality I'm guessing this is a hoax. I know the appeal is there, but Faust and McCracken have moved on since Powerpuff Girls ended and either of them going back to reboot a dead franchise of theirs seems unlikely. They both have other things to do, namely their new series coming to Disney Wander Over Yonder, which is the first series to have both Faust and McCracken together again since Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

 

TL;DR: I'm going with fake! I wouldn't get your hopes up.

For me it's fake until we get some sort of confirmation. I've seen things like this before that looked convincing enough, but in reality, were quite fake. If it isn't fake, I hope Faust is behind it; it'd give a good reason as to why she left FiM.

I hope this is a reboot of the PPG; there are certain shows that deserve to be run again, and this is definitely one of them. I just hope it will be as good as the original.

I would love to see them back. But its unlikely thats its returning. Luaren and Craig and working on other shows now. I doubt they had time to make more PPG. But it is also possible. U never know. Maybe this is the reason she left and reason she couldn't say why she left is because she wasn't allowed to say.

But u know what it probably is? Reruns. Yup. I bet they are just gonna show the reruns of the show. Like they did on Boomerang.

But i will at least try and keep my hopes up and say its actually making a return.

I don't know if this is true. I would need to see some more info before I can think this is real. It would be cool if they did bring it back. It could also mean they are doing the Japanese version of the PPG. I know they dubbed it, but it was only shown on Boomerang. Would be cool if it came back.

That poster looks so amateurish that anybody could have done it. To be honest everything about the Powerpuff Girls looks amateurish and that's part of its charm, and it's the reason why there have been over 9000 false alarms about it getting a reboot. A quick search for that poster gave me a ton of tumblr results, so I'm thinking that it originated from one of them. We're also way too close to the alleged debut for it just to be announced. In other words, this doesn't have any hallmarks of officialism.

As ecstatic as I am to see that image, I definitely have reasons to be doubtful.

 

However, my hope for the return of this show exists. I watched ample amounts of PPG out of boredom earlier this year, and I enjoyed all of it. I actually liked the simplistic charm the show had to it. I feel as though many of today's cartoons try too hard.

If it's true, then let's see if the show would have the same action-like sequences like the old ones. If not, then so much for good old nostalgia. Besides, most shows in CN are horrible, let's see if this one's like better, but same, than the old PPGs.
