Just out of curiousty anyone play MMORPGs?

I stopped playing Maplestory due to it being kinda little kiddie.

I might play it durring the Halloween and other holiday events though.

LOL. For now I just play Mabinogi.

I couldn't play WoW cause of the cash you have to pay for the subscription.

I've played MMO's since my diapers. I remember the first one I've ever played was Ragnarök, and then I went nonstop. I can't recall exactly what games I've played so far, they are so many.

 

I personally prefer the cartoonish/anime style MMORPG's. I'm at the moment playing Trickster Online. One of the best online games I've found so far, along with Dofus and Dragon Saga.

I currently still play wow, waiting for the MoP to get released!

 

I don't spend loads of time on them mainly show for raid's and dungeon's with friends

Back when I played MMORPGs, I really started with (ugh) Maplestory, then graduated to Mabinogi, then Atlantica Online (pre-Nexon), then went on-and-off with Mabinogi for a while before I quit for good. I DO occasionally log onto it every few months or so, just to see who all I used to know is online and stuff. Kinda depressing when you think about it... I've off doing other things, but to them, they're still sitting in front of the screen, grinding, watching numbers go up...

I've played WoW since beta, i worked out a few months ago that between sub costs, transfers and buying the games, I've spent over £2000 on WoW which is just mental.

 

I've also played just about any MMO you could think of, ranging from Runescape to maplestory to guildwars. I play the Space MMO EvE-Online too.

I used to play Runescape for like 2-3 years It was ok, now it's kinda stupid since it's been updated so much. Now I play Minecraft and an awesome game called Diablo III, It's a lot of fun.

I've played pretty much every MMO there is besides a few of the free ones. I played WoW for a few years and then did the math on how much money I spent on that game. (Far far far too much) and then idiotically went on to play other subscription based MMOs. Recently though I stopped playing the sub based and moved onto to normal games and games like Guild Wars 2.

Star Wars Galaxies was one of my favorites, pre combat upgrade of course. It was an actual sandbox mmo, unlike many of the same genre. Too bad it's servers have been taken permanently. I have played WoW for many years and spent a lot of money on it, I'm not proud of it at all. I've also started playing Guild Wars 2 and I have to admit, it's the only mmo I've actually enjoyed since SWG.

Runescape and World of Warcraft. Runescape has become terrible and World of Warcraft is boring unless you have other friends that play it and I don't so I stopped.

I've played: Guild Wars, World of WarCraft, RuneScape, EverQuest, The Old Republic, and EverQuest 2.

 

I'm personally sick of MMORPGs. Sick of the amount of time they drain out of my life and sick of monthly fees (though I know Guild Wars doesn't really have this problem). However, Guild Wars 2 has, admitably, gotten me back interested. I may pick it back up, but I swore not to pick up any more MMO's until all of my college apps are done. Prioritizing, woot!

Lol you switched from Maple to Mabinogi because Maple was too kiddie? Are you joking lol xD? When you're playing games like Maple and Mabinogi, you shouldn't throw around the kiddie word lol. There are MANY MANY reasons not to play Maple, but being kiddie is NOT one of them lol.

I've played a lot of MMO's but some of the ones I've played the most are MapleStory, WoW, Warhammer Online, Guild Wars 2, Dragon Saga, Dragon Nest, Darkfall, Last Chaos, Grand Chase, Runescape and Crimecraft. Also a shit ton of FPS games like Combat Arms, Soldier Front, Cross fire and MW

 

The best out of all of those has been Guild Wars 2, Darkfall and Crimecraft.

I have a love/hate relationship with MMORPGs. I truly do enjoy exploring the worlds in them. I truly despise endgame play. As such I have this tendency to content locust and move on. Thing is though I dont like just how much time they devour. They do keep you from being bored though. I just wonder sometimes if it ends up a black mark "Wasted too much of life's time playing MMOs" at the end.

I have this odd addiction with Maplestory. I've had it for so many years.

 

I have been playing since I was in 6th grade. I'm in 11th now.

 

I have dreams about Maplestory a lot.

 

I remember all my friends, and all the old guilds I was in.

 

I have so many fond memories building friendships.

 

God, I love the game so much. And I don't even care if people hate it. Maplestory is close to my heart.

WoW is a good game if you want a standard MMO, but there's nothing "bad" about it like lots of people claim. Runescape is however amazing (or it used to be a year or two back), got really unique gameplay. Lots of grind though.

WoW hasn't innovated at all. The content is stale and boring for most people. In the MMO industry, you can't just sit on your title. You have to work and innovate and they just haven't. It's a basic mmo. It's bad because the combat is boring because everything auto hits. There is no aiming. The bosses aren't very unique in their gameplay since the combat itself isn't very unique. It takes thousands of hours to grind and get the best stuff for really no use other than to look more shiny and fight the next boss clone with less people.

 

In the light of modern MMO's WoW is a P.O.S. xD
