My poll still doesn't display how members voted correctly. It says that 14 members have cast votes, but below that it shows 5 votes for Bon Jovi and 1 vote for Megadeth. I haven't gotten a reply yet on my support request, so we'll have to see if they know how to fix it.

That total just probably means how many times members have voted in the overall tournament. I have been editing it so much that it's just probably kerskuffled with information lol.

After a little analysis, I found that the following games are between two artists nominated by the same forum member, so these members are guaranteed to have at least one artist advance beyond the first round.

No matter how much I want Flogging Molly or Pendulum to win, I really want to see Sublime and Goldfinger go against one another. It would be a very interesting match in the least.

 

Starting to look like Daft Punk and Cage The Elephant are my two best hopes to get to the finals. Though the majority of my picks probably won't make it past the first round honestly, seeing as most people on this forum would prefer Rock over EDM.

Something is definitely wrong with the polls last I checked Megadeth had 7 and Bon jovi had 5 now it says Megadeth has one and Bon jovi has 7 and 16 members have cast their votes

 

Can we start a discussion on the brackets? If so...

 

-I'm seeing Matches 2, 6, 11, 12, 14, 16-18 as the most interesting

-I also expect landslides in Matches 4, 5, 13, 18, 20, 21, 29 and 30

-If Queen, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Iron Maiden, AC/DC or Rush don't get passed the first round...

-The Beatles vs. Anal Cunt?! Holy shit that's gonna be AWESOME!!!

-The most even matchup I've seen thus far in this round would be between Tenacious D and Weird Al, or Nightwish and System of a Down. An interesting placement, to say the least.

Based on what I've picked, I won't get passed the second round (third round if I'm lucky as fuck). My best choice (Evile) is put up against Weezer (and I can see Weezer as a heavy favourite) so I know I won't get anywhere with that unless I get lucky, while I have Coroner up against Daft Punk which is a no-contest pick. Best case scenario is Evile vs. Daft Punk and and from what I known is a dead match there.

 

My Devin Townsend choice MIGHT get lucky, but I don't have much info on the Reel Big Fish, so all I can say is I'm at 50/50 until the song comes up. Either way, it wouldn't matter because I KNOW for a fact that Rush will move on next, and that means whatever pick goes against Rush will be saying adios.

 

As far as my favourites in the game, I see Meshuggah and Megadeth as Round 3 max, AC/DC to the quarterfinals, and Rush and either Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin at the semi-finals.

 

What's your guys' opinion? Who's your favourites? =3

 

...oh yeah, I vote Megadeth for obvious reason.

 

 

Shame really IMO Mark is a better vocalist than Freddie and runs circles around Brian May on guitar ( Knopflers tone and dynamics are legendary . Dire Straits unfortunately is too underrated to stand up to Queen. Even If I switched it to Dire Straits best song , Queen would still win. =/ However I still Like Queen but it usually saddens me when no one has ever heard of Dire Straits.

 

 

 

As Far as favorites? For match 12 I see Satch coming out on top. Match 11 has two completely different genres going at it.

 

 

Maiden has a very good chance of winning it all , as does Floyd

I just find it odd as to why it only registered one vote when I saw several members say the voted for Megadeth after the fix. Or everyone is just now approaching it from a strategical perspective

You're not putting enough faith in Daft Punk. Besides, considering this is MLPForums, the majority of bronies (I find) tend to love EDM over Rock.

Its close for me, i used to love Weird Al, were it Amish Paradise it would have definitely got my vote, but it is not so Jack Black and Kyle Glass take my vote. Tribute is a brilliant song, good strong first pick. ^^

 

Although using your strongest song first could work out badly for Tenacious D later in the tournament if they pass this round.

For me, the artist name "Tenacious D" sounded vaguely familiar, but I had never heard a song by them. This happens fairly frequently with me - there are lots of artists and song titles which I have seen on the singles charts but never actually heard. I was already familiar with Weird Al somewhat.

 

In this battle, Weird Al's song was a little more entertaining to me than Tenacious D's song, so I voted for Weird Al.

I personally voted for Weird Al because I am not AT ALL a Tenacious D fan. I think they come across as trying too hard to make nonsense but still produce solid hits. Weird Al actually has that parody genius in him that makes The Saga Begins more enjoyable.

 

Tenacious D kicks ahead of Weird Al with a 10-8 final tally! They will face Bon Jovi in Round 2!
