Will there be a new theme song?

Will the theme song change again?

 

I liked the first one the best and I can stand the second one but if they change the song anymore then I might lose the interest I once had.

 

What do you think and have I completely missed a topic which already discusses this?

 

 

I'm trying to upload something which shows the two songs so that you guys can listen to them and see the difference but I don't think I'm slamming down on the keyboard hard enough

I think that they might change what goes on in the backround a little.

To be honest, I couldn't really tell the differnce between the first season's song, and the second one's, until I heard that there was one.

They wouldn't change the song any, but they may change the background... That's the only thing that makes sense to change, because there isn't a reason to change the song.

I don't think they'll completely re-do it. I really liked how seasons two's was changed very subtly from season one's. I hope they do the same.

Agreed, shows tend to try to keep the same theme song or just change the opening sequence once and keep it the new one after that.

 

And I noticed a slight difference in the sound, but nothing really too big or noticeable.

I think Daniel Ingram likes the remix he used for Season Two, though he might tweak it a bit. As for changing the theme song, I doubt it. Aside from being integral to the show's identity, it's an excellent song and perfect for setting the mood.

 

We will probably see even more product placement in Season Three, though. They pushed the Friendship Express train set pretty hard in Season Two, both in the OP and various episodes. If they come up with a new dream house or something, we may see that.

 

If they could work Rainbow's cloud house in, I wouldn't mind. That's one sweet crib!

Ok, I am so lost right now. I'm not even seeing a change between season 1 from season 2 other than just a little audio enhancement. Everything sounds the same to me.

 

I dont believe they will change season 3's theme. I'm with Dusty, we might be able to expect a change in the opening sequence since we've met a whole bunch of new ponies, but the song, no matter how annoying it is, will probably always remain.

I was pretty sure I heard a difference between the S1 and S2 songs, but it was so subtle I couldn't pinpoint it. Nice to know I wasn't imagining things. And like most of us, I hope they keep it pretty much the same, but an updated video sequence would be cool.

I expect Shining Armor and Cadence will appear in the opening...maybe not in the Ponyville scene, but in the palace. I'd like to see Spike included in the picture that's sent to Princess Celestia.

I don't think they well change the song. If anything they are going to put more side characters and background character in it. Hope they put Mr. and Mrs. Cake in the song, carrying Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake in that cute little saddle bag. Or maybe just them running around would be cool to. That was so cute I want to see it again.

I may certainly wish they change the theme song somewhat, if only to take out the repetition of the franchise name, but that's only because I have a strange irrational dislike for theme songs that are perfectly good otherwise but repeat the franchise name at every opportunity. (With the sole exception of TaleSpin and Transformers, but they make that work. ^^) I understand why they do it (brand name recognition and stuff) but that doesn't make it less annoying for me.

 

Speaking aside from my personal preferences in theme music, I doubt it is going to change further - the current mix, as is, is very nice. (Of course, Mr. Ingram may find ways to surprise us. ^^) I do think they'd add some visual elements into the S3 OP, though, as they did with S2 - @PonyHag1's example of Shining Armour and Cadence, or perhaps Luna if she were to take a larger role in the series (as was originally planned).

The theme song will say the same, they probably just add more background and side characters in the very opening. You really don't notice the much of difference between season 1 op and season 2 op.

I think they may just change the beat of the song, but keep the same lyrics, as well as change what goes on in the background.

The addition of the Friendship Express to the opening sequence was a decision by Hasbro for selling another toy or ten. Given the brevity of the upcoming season and that this "Crystal Kingdom" thing is likely to be a huge departure from what we've seen before and an arc unto itself, don't be surprised if the video portion of the opening sequence changes even if the song gets to stay. They've got a lot of selling potential with it and you know Hasbro is aware of that.

 

For the record, I like things as they are. I like the second season intro more than the first. The only exception being that weird, unnecessary sound effect they added as Rainbow Dash initially swoops down upon Ponyville. Aside from that I think the sound quality is appreciably higher.

I think itll change slightly. If the theme song is different it makes it easier to figure out if its a S1, S2, or S3 episode.

They probably won't change the theme song, because it is a pretty traditional theme for the My Little Pony series. I will doubt that they'll have a new song to replace with, but they might edit the song.

I wish they could make some kind of awesom remix of it! Plus with new opening scenes!

Personally, I'm pretty convinced they may change it a little bit again, but only in subtle ways. Keep the same structure, maybe change up the instruments and stuff in slight ways to make it seem a little different in style. Personally I'd like to see some electronic elements in it, if it's kept mostly the same.

The video will be very slightly changed I think. Nothing too major for the song though. Like what happened in some episodes, the background will most likely be changed.
