I love pokemon but I haven't played it in months! My favorite pokemon is Kyogre.

Generations one and three were my favourite, two was okay too I guess. There were a number of good Pokemon from 4th gen.

The sheer amount of creativity gone into previous generations is phenomenal! Some were quirky, but nevertheless they pulled through! Having a cog, evolve into two cogs, which evolves into three cogs is ridiculous! And then having an Ice Cream, which evolves into a bigger Ice Cream, which evolved into a Double Ice Cream is stupid! Nintendo have totally ran out of ideas, and it's starting to show. There are submission on DeviantArt which have more creativity and effort put into them than the crap Nintendo are jerking out this year.

But hey,at least we've got other awesome Pokemon like Reshiram and Zekrom,the Musketeer trio,Scrafty,Hydreigon...sure,they might have ran out of ideas,but there's tons of other amazing ones in the bunch! Those are another couple of Pokemon from 5th gen which I dislike. They're poorly designed IMO.

Basically, if you compare the Pokemon nowadays to the Pokemon back in the 90s, you can see a very distinct difference.

You know, it may just be me, but I kinda like the ice cream line. At first I thought it was meh, but when I saw it's 3D model, I liked it more. It showed more detail, and just made it look more appealing. Besides, I like the idea of entering a tourney and beating somepony's EV trained Garchomp with Ice Cream.

I understand where you're coming from, and I agree Nintendo have done the whole "three" thing since the beginning. But looking at Magneton and Dugtrio now, and comparing them to the recent creations, they have a more "Pokemony" feel to their appearance.

 

Furthermore, Magneton is the best Electric type ever, and it's evolutionary form looks silly.
