Well for season 2 they didn't change the opening until after the first two episodes, who's to say the same thing won't happen for season 3?

You make a good point i actually did go back and see that the Season 2 premiere still had the S1 intro. But then again Those episodes were originally S1 episodes werent they?

I don't think Luna explicitly desired power, she was royalty ranked equally with Celesta. Luna only wanted to be loved an appreciated as much as Celestia, so I don't see how teaming up with Sombra would have accomplished that

Because jealousy is a darkness of the mind that caused her to try and force love from the inhabitants of Equestria which manifested in the form of veangence. Twilight was able to subdue her anger by showing her kindness and how she actually helps spread kindness and love by celebrating one day a year in which the fear Luna instills is actually celebration of love. But anger kept in the heart for a long period of time can still bring back old habits as if it were an emotional trigger. Thus making temptation still possible.

The foreshadowing of the story is giving me goosebumps! Well, everything in the spoiler is giving me goosebumps, and now I really can't wait for November 10th!

But there is only one thing I'm a little sad about... and it's a personal issue, really. But still. It killed my headcanon. ;~;

We have no idea if that was true or not.

 

Also, the new intro, (or the remastered intro song at least), for the second season was actually decided by the fans when Danial ingram asked.

 

After watching the preview, I know this episode is going to be awesome.

She did seem like she wanted to go help Cadance and the others. And her glare-like looks toward Twilight probably weren't out of anger, but out of jealously.

The theory I've been seeing is that Celestia won't let her go help because it's quite possible for Sombre to corrupt her somehow. (Which would mean that the Elements didn't fully purify Luna...)

 

And naw, Nightmare Moon probably won't ever return. :c Though that would be epic if she did come back!

Sombra looks bad ass. I wonder who his VA is. Nice to see Luna again. Wonder if this means she's a permanent cast member? And Twilight is adorkable as usual.

 

Overall not a very eventful preview but it's enough to get me hyped.

Yeah, I was just being a little silly. But I do agree with you, though Celestia did seem a bit off too...I wonder if something affects the royal princesses that has something to do with the crystal kingdom. Celestia did say that whatever affects the crystal kingdom is replicated throughout Equestria. So perhaps the princesses are affected somehow, which is why they cannot help.

This looks to me like the opening of something truly epic. They gave us a truly stellar finale for Season 2, which opened a tremendous amount of doors, and they've grabbed this opportunity by the heart. If this season premiere is as good as the first 8 minutes are, I think it'll top even The Return of Harmony.

 

I do wish the episodes were released on Tuesday though (Lesson Zero and It's About Time).

The villian looks super awesome in this one!! Love how epic it all looks so far. Can't wait for the whole thing to come out! This is gonna be a great season: I'm sure of it! I wonder what it means how Twilight and Twilight alone will help out Cadnace/Shining Armor....seems interesting. Thanks so much for sharing! My curiosity as usual gets the best of me.

Oh my goodness. This is too good to be true. The end of a hiatus...a new beginning is coming, and it looks like it's going to kick off with a bang.

 

For one thing, I see they're still getting the most out of Flash, and it's just gorgeous. They've took what they did good in the past seasons (notably simple mane and tail movements, mouth animation, special effects, lighting/shading etc.), and cranked it up all the way to the extreme with this. Everything is smoother. So much eye candy, I cannot wait to see this in glorious HD (thank you, iTunes!). Just think, since they made this in Flash, who knows, maybe they'll be able to recreate the show's episodes in better quality than 1080p, since these are vectors they are working with. Oh, the possibilities.

 

Off with the nerdy stuff, and onto the story. I see everything's slowly falling in place with the whole King Sombra thing. What Celestia said he did to the Crystal Empire is insane. This is still a kids show, right? Also, seeing him fully animated is what I wanted to see. The plot overall is interesting, including from what we've learned in the past about it. And it's going to be nice seeing Shining and Cadance be involved with this, it doesn't seem right to make the two characters that much important and never bring them back again.

 

Other than all of that, it's just the general epicness I feel when Celestia is discussing Twilight's mission. I can definitely tell that this has the chance of being the greatest two-parter yet.

Is it just me or was that beginning epic? I mean, compare that to the Season 1 or 2 premiere. This looks like something out of a movie rather than an actual show. Especially that scene where Celestia and Luna are talking to each other. The animation in it was so fluent it made my face light up. Man, do I expect great things next season!

Alright... first 8 minutes of this and I've already seen Spike getting flattened by a book, getting overwhelmed with work, getting yelled at by Twilight, almost getting shot in the face with a magic beam and getting smacked to the side with Piknie's party cannon. And by the looks of it: Luna, Shining Armor and Cadance are going to have major roles in this episodes.

 

Eeyup... Comic relief Spike that gets to do nothing relevant in a two-parter episode... here we go again!

 

 

Other than that, this looks great... I'm looking forward to see how things unfolds.

Even thou this is probably the biggest spoiler so fare, I have to say this I liked it. It give us a better idea of what the episode is going to be about, with out giving to much away. Still apart of me is saying, Hasbro why don't you give us a break already. We already have to wait another week for the episode. Stop torturing us.

 

Also I like the info on Kind Somber. He's just a unicorn, a pure evil unicorn. I have wanted to see a villain in the show that was the same as them.

Also, I have to agree with what everypony is saying here. It seems to be a higher-budget (or at least higher-quality) production now. Much smoother than before, and the detail is wonderful. It seems to be a bit darker than before, too.

 

On another note, the royal guards seem to be voiced by Batman. xD

Nobody ever saw Twilight's test failure song turning out to be about -this- back when the song itself came out. That said, I'm finally glad we have some chronological sense now with the song, story of King Sombra and what exactly the Crystal Empire is all about and how it fits into the rest of Equestria, all being explained in this clip. Sombra looks like he'll be a truly epic villain; not that the return of Discord isn't going to have me more excited

 

Look forward to seeing Shining Armor again. Moar bro sis interaction? Yes please.
