  1. I shall begin with some examples of my own: Dahlia Hawthorne from Phoenix Wright and Fluttershy is the first. My other one is Jack Merridew from Lord of the Flies and Rainbow Dash. An arguable third is Celestia and Lord Vetinari from Discworld; provided that Lord Vetinari can count as a villain. (Let's see what crazy stuff comes out of the machine.)
  2. Pinkie Pie would detect my presence, begin testing me in her party cannon, begin trying to walk like a human, begin breaking physics etc etc... Well, it'd be something to remember and definitely something to enjoy. But I'd quickly be tired out by her crazy antics. Or maybe she would somehow find a way of giving me all of her powers. And she'd definitely throw me a welcome party. So I'd get to meet everyone else as well. Come to think about it, the one character I'd most want to meet is Derpy. I manage to be just as destructive and clumsy without wall-eyes. Imagining what the pair of us could do together is amazing. And if we're thinking destruction missions, I guess we'd have to bring Rainbow Dash in on it too. (I'm beginning to see the first steps towards a video game here.) The real question is, who would I request shelter from when it's time to sleep? Or would I be too excited to sleep? Screw that question then. The last thing I'd definitely want to do is make Fluttershy mad. She won't hold a grudge against me, will she?
  3. Rarity may be the element of generosity, but she's not averse to greed. She's often a little selfish when trying to get her way. More importantly, Ayn Rand values individualism. Rarity is an individual to the extreme.
  4. Rarity I could see enjoying Ayn Rand. Pinkie Pie is a definite hedonist. Fluttershy's all about "make love, not war!" Rainbow Dash I can see as a mild Social Darwinist. Not sure about Applejack or Twilight - though I could see Twilight being fond of Ayn Rand also.
  5. 1. Pinkie Pie. She's good at tic-tac-toe. I imagine she'd somehow keep winning. That said, Twilight Sparkle and Rarity could be good also. 2. Applejack. Her and Fluttershy are the two I don't really have anything in common, but Applejack will disapprove of me for my laziness and weird temperament. 3. Rainbow Dash. I imagine she'd fall in love with either Fluttershy or Rarity. 4. Twilight Sparkle. Fairly self-explanatory. 5. I put Rainbow Dash, but truth be told I think her look's too wild to win a beauty contest. I think Fluttershy. 6. Rainbow Dash. Her and Pinkie Pie are the wildest, but Rainbow Dash doesn't have any sort of spare body (whereas Pinkie Pie probably does). Whether it's a stunt accident, or an overly hedonistic lifestyle that causes it, she's the one who seems most likely.
  6. Look Before You Sleep. I was one of the people who didn't like Rarity to begin with, and this episode is exactly why (she seems slightly OOC, although I didn't know her well enough to notice it at the time). She's a total bitch, left, right and centre, and seems to provoke Applejack much more than vice-versa. Also, Twilight Sparkle is OOC IMO - I don't imagine her as the type who'd host a slumber party. My opinion of The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well is mixed. It could've actually been a great episode; there's a great moral to be learned, and what happened to Rainbow Dash was actually very believable: she'd developed such a love for attention and praise that she no longer cared about saving lives. Perhaps the Mare-Do-Well situation was justifiable; the episode never gave a chance to justify it. It has all the traits of a good episode, but doesn't put them together. The Show Stoppers is boring. It doesn't help that it's the second CMC episode in a row, but there's nothing to change the fact that Stare Master is easily the better of the two. Nothing is learned in The Show Stoppers, nothing worthwhile happens, it seems like a filler. Boast Busters has a lot of flaws. It feels a bit empty, and I thought Trixie was a poor character. I hated her in seconds. Snips and Snails were also poor, and Twilight Sparkle kind of annoyed me with her naivety (she's socially awkward, but she's intelligent enough to realize that the Ursa needed to be gone, and that impressive magic was required to do so.) If it was Rainbow Dash, and Trixie were a Pegasus, she'd have settled the matter in ten seconds flat, and managed to create something awesome at the same time. I am actually rather fond of Feeling Pinkie Keen. Let's face it, whether or not Pinkie Pie makes any sense, or is supposed to, she's hilarious. And Twilight Sparkle is, as a consequence, equally hilarious when they're together. The episode features both characters at their best.
  7. Most extroverted: 1. Pinkie Pie 2. Rarity 3. Rainbow Dash 4. Applejack 5. Twilight Sparkle 6. Fluttershy Sensing (1), Intuition (6): 1. Rainbow Dash 2. Fluttershy 3. Applejack 4. Rarity -------------- 5. Pinkie Pie 6. Twilight Sparkle Thinking (1), Feeling (6): 1. Twilight Sparkle 2. Rainbow Dash 3. Applejack --------------------- 4. Rarity 5. Pinkie Pie 6. Fluttershy Judging (1), Perceiving (6): 1. Twilight Sparkle 2. Rarity 3. Applejack 4. Fluttershy ----------------- 5. Rainbow Dash 6. Pinkie Pie Most charismatic: 1. Rainbow Dash 2. Pinkie Pie 3. Applejack 4. Rarity 5. Fluttershy 6. Twilight Sparkle (severely lacks charisma)
  8. Firstly, I have Asperger's Syndrome myself, and I identify most closely with Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash of the mane cast, much moreso than Fluttershy or Twilight Sparkle. I don't really see any Asperger's Syndrome in Fluttershy. She actually seems to have a pretty good grasp of socialising, just that she's naturally shy. I'd say her shyness is related more to her natural temperament than anything else. Twilight Sparkle having Asperger's Syndrome seems far more plausible to me. She always does seem a little computerised in her way of thinking (especially in The Crystal Empire regarding the test), and I'd say the vast majority of people with Asperger's think in this way to some degree (I certainly used to.) As well as this, Twilight Sparkle often seems to have her brain within her thoughts (namely Feeling Pinkie Keen, when she's not watching where she's going and falls into a trench.) Pinkie Pie seems much more Asperger's to me than Fluttershy. Not all people with Asperger's Syndrome are introverted. Pinkie Pie is the type who uses her quirks (and a lot of those she has) to her advantage, to turn into an incredibly charismatic individual who everyone loves. It doesn't take long at all to realize that Pinkie Pie, despite being a genius acts like a total idiot (It was under e, anyone?). She seems to either be genuinely oblivious to normality, or pretends it doesn't exist.
  9. There's a great one called What Mommies Do by SanityLost, which is all about Rainbow Dash's supposed fillyhood, and about all the things she does that make her mother mad. Another great Dash fic is Rainbow Dash: Alpha Mare - it's comedy gold. There is a sex scene in it though. Two interesting fics involving the writer's OCs are Cerulean - Tears in the Snow (OC Cerulean shipped with Twilight Sparkle), and The Risks of Braving a Storm (OC Storm shipped with Rainbow Dash). I believe others have been written in the series, which I've yet to read. Cerulean and Storm are both great characters, especially Cerulean.
  10. I thought this episode was great. Twilight Sparkle trying desperately not to panic, Rarity being Rarity and Pinkie Pie being even more hyperactive than normal. Rainbow Dash stole this episode for me though. Her constant suspicions in trying to figure out the gamemaster's motives, as well as her intense levels of excitement brought a great deal of humour. Also, did anyone notice how Fluttershy was airborne unusually often in this one?
  11. I agree entirely on this. Applejack - if I recall correctly I read that her accent is meant to be a Tennessee accent, where apparently a lot of apples are grown. Rainbow Dash - I reckon she'd be a fiery Mediterranean, but most likely Greek. Quite possibly even of Spartan descent. Fluttershy - Somewhere in Eastern Europe, I reckon. People from Eastern Europe seem to be very introverted, and they're often pale skinned, which suits Fluttershy to a tee. Rarity - Italian, I reckon (another fiery Mediterranean). Their culture is perhaps the most romantic I can think of, and whilst she's not as fiery as Rainbow Dash, she's anything but submissive. Pinkie Pie - Dunno. Personally, I reckon she's been through a previous MLP generation, who somehow developed special powers to move generation. Putting that aside - Scottish? A load of barbarians from the other side of Hadrian's wall? That may work.
  12. The Young Ones: Applejack as Mike Spike as Rick Pinkie Pie as Vyvyan Fluttershy as Neil Also Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy: Big Macintosh as Ed. Twilight Sparkle as Double D. Rainbow Dash as Eddy. Zecora as Rolf. Rarity as Johnny (with Tom as Plank) Billy as Kevin (or is it Hoops: I know one of them's voiced by the same actress) Fluttershy as Jimmy Lyra as Nazz Applejack as Sarah.
  13. Best Earth Pony: Applejack Best Pegasus: Rainbow Dash Best Unicorn: Twilight Sparkle Best Alicorn: Princess Celestia (TEA TROLL!)
  14. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20001222b Neutral A neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. She doesn’t feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most neutrality is a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil. After all, she would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, she’s not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. The common phrase for neutral is "true neutral." Neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion.
  15. There's a test you can take on the D&D website to find out what your alignment is - I got True Neutral. And I guess that somewhat describes me - I believe firmly in balancing out 2 extremes, and I think (don't quote me on this one), I'm generally well meaning but only when I want to be.
  16. What are your thoughts on 'Scootalove', and Dash and Scootaloo's relationship? I hadn't really thought much of Scootalove. I suppose I would've done, but I'd regarded Scootaloo as something of a flat character and really didn't care much for her at all. As for Rainbow Dash, she always seemed too free-spirited to be tied down as a foster parent. Did 'Sleepless in Ponyville' change your overall views on Scootaloo? If yes, how so? Yes. I'd always regarded Scootaloo as something of a clone of Rainbow Dash, and truth be told, I kind of felt like I was correct at the end of the episode. But, I was given new feelings towards the character - a young and excitable filly, with deep down fears of being rejected by her idol, fearing that Rainbow Dash may become fed up of her. And though I was never one to initially believe in Scootorphan, it now seems like the only logical explanation. Which made it all the more powerful how frightened she was. Did 'Sleepless in Ponyville' change your overall views on Rainbow Dash? If yes, how so? No. Nothing she did in the episode surprised me one bit. I couldn't imagine her acting any other way towards Scootaloo. The chances of Dash and Scootaloo's relationship not being continued at all in future seasons is highly unlikely. If and when we're to see Scootalove again, how would you like it to be handled? Would you like it to be an entire episode centered around a theme, or just a few short scenes showing continuation of their relationship? Do you have any specific ideas or wants? Maybe an episode where Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo fly together (judging by the ending of Sleepless in Ponyville, this seems highly probable). Otherwise, I'd be content with just a few scenes.
  17. I'm absolutely convinced that Rainbow Dash is a metalhead. Her voice sounds to me like the result of far too much shouting in short succession.
  18. The way the Mane 6 turned out after they became Discorded is incredibly clever, in my opinion. Applejack is telling constant half-truths. Firstly, this breaks her element (Honesty). Secondly, we have seen this from her, namely in Party of One. Pinkie Pie becomes angry and negative. This is most definitely the opposite of the element of Laughter, and in Party of One, after Rainbow Dash dragged her to Sweet Apple Acres, much of what she said was very similar to her discorded self. Rarity becomes obsessive about a rock, which she believes to be a diamond. Her greed breaks the element of Generosity. This whole thing about the rock seems rather like the Prince Blueblood saga to me - falling for a charmless prince. Also, could her skepticality be related to her OCD and her wish to have things exactly as she pleases? Fluttershy becomes a bully, breaking the element of Kindness. Although Putting Your Hoof Down hadn't aired at the time, it's likely that the production team finished the episode before this one aired. Rainbow Dash becomes someone similar to the man in the lyrics of Judas Priest's "Beyond the Realms of Death." http://www.lyricsfreak.com/j/judas+priest/beyond+the+realms+of+death_20076109.html We've seen her completely isolate herself twice in Season 2, firstly in The Mysterious Mare Do Well and secondly in Read it and Weep. Interestingly enough, the former of these cases seemed to result from failure, and when she was Discorded, could she have believed she'd failed to save Cloudsdale? Twilight Sparkle is probably the most straightforward - she became the Twilight Sparkle from the pilot, as she had lost all of her friends.
  19. I couldn't help but want to create my own interpretation of Rainbow Dash. I've tried to keep as faithful to the character as possible, and if you're wondering, my intention is to cover significant events during her life, pre-canon, canon and post-canon (as well as her Cutie Mark backstory). It was six p.m. in the afternoon. Night was eclipsing its way over the pony kingdom of Equestria, its hold slowly strengthening. Yet despite night’s tight grip upon one’s surroundings, the feeling of most nights, including this particular one, was a feeling of tranquillity and peace. Night was the introvert to the day’s extrovert, or so Pegasus philosophy went. It was on this particular night, when two Pegasi, Emerald Dash and Flameborn Dash sat with Zecora in the same room, in an exotic yet well-heated hut. Amidst their company was a newborn female foal (although Flameborn was keeping her warm in her hooves.) Zecora was a zebra, with tribal ear-rings and an odd symbol where a pony’s Cutie Mark would normally be. She had a persona that matched that of the night perfectly – she was introverted, with a peaceful aura, whilst at the same time, open with her thoughts. (It should be noted that Zecora was not trusted by most ponies. The fact that these two trusted her indicated their education and level of class. Emerald Dash, although not noble-born, was of a scholarly background and had lived in Canterlot for several years). Flameborn Dash was born as Flameborn Skylighter, and the Skylighters were well known for many generations due to having brought some of the fiercest Pegasus warriors around.) “Flameborn Dash, a mare so brash. The foal I shall need, so her mind I can read. Do not fret, o proudest mare, for my hooves give warm and tender care.” The zebra’s voice sounded deeply spiritual, even magical, as it sounded multi-layered, yet soothing and almost musical, with an unusual accent to accompany this. She was trustworthy though – Zecora said that the foal would be in warm hooves, and Zecora’s voice seemed to emit a relaxing ray of warmth. Flameborn Dash was weak from the birth she had just given, yet the position of her cheeks made it clear for all to see that she was in a relaxed state of mind. “Here…” Emerald Dash, though not exactly sure how his mare was feeling, smiled as she spoke, for her voice sparkled with life even in its weak state. “Flameborn is well, this a truth I tell.” Zecora’s relaxing words served almost as commentary, but it was relieving to hear nonetheless. Emerald Dash was named because of the colour of his mane and tail, which were a metallic dark green. The overall feel was a strongly dynamic, but not aggressive presence. This combined with his body, which was deep blue in colour, and these two put together made him look rich: not as in wealthy, but deep and philosophical, internally strong-rooted, and yet, at the same time, fierce. His eyes were green, but glowing. In general, describing him as deep may have been an understatement – he was always somewhere below the surface, but had a very well-developed and intensive thought process, which was very well networked, but at the same time, flexible enough so as not to feel like a computer. Meanwhile, Zecora studied the foal’s features very closely. “Her gaze is strong. She is deeply in-tune with her senses. Her mane it flares with energy, of power and light for all to see. (At this point, Zecora passively raised her voice and shut her eyes as she appeared to be entering some kind of trance, and the trance’s power could be recepted by touch as well as hearing. The trance brought a dreamy and sleep-inducing, yet pleasant sensation.) Strong of hoof, brave and bold, and passion from a heart of gold! Fighter-born, wild by dawn, she’ll never be a pawn!” At the end, Zecora opened her eyes once more. “Yet, she will not be easy. She yearns to be free. She will feel unsettled, endangered and weak, if you don’t grant her what she seeks. And she is proud, perhaps too proud.” Zecora warned, now taking a more serious tone. “Will we be proud of her? Does the good outweigh the bad?” Emerald asked, trying desperately to suppress any emotions in his voice, but not quite succeeding and bringing out faint worry. “She means nothing but well, this for sure I can tell. She may not show her love for ye, but proud of ye she’ll always be. Ye soon shall be just as proud, this I am sure – I have no doubt.” Energy was slowly recharging through Flameborn’s veins, as she now spoke – “Seems you’ll have more than one strong female to handle.” She gave a smile as she said this. Flameborn was a fierce mare, and by all accounts one of the best fighters that Cloudsdale had witnessed. It showed in her appearance – the most distinguishing of her features were her two dark rose-coloured eyes, which were far brighter than anypony else’s eyes should ever be. She had maintained this brightness even in her weakened state. Her mane and tail were orange, but a very reddish-orange, almost flamelike, a colour which makes one think of passion. Her body was a sun-like orange, radiating with just as much heat and energy. This powerful appearance was aided by her mighty wings, which were sharply angled like blades. Many Pegasi had very light and thin wings, but hers were tough and thick, and soared against the wind with ease. Her appearance was that of a warrior, and although as a mare this was not encouraged, she was needed. She looked far too strong for anypony to think twice about giving her military powers. Emerald Dash laughed at what she had said only to follow this by quietly contemplating in his head whether this was a serious matter or something to laugh about. He’d come to the conclusion that it was the former. Zecora interrupted them: “Perhaps ye wish to stay for tea, for all that I provide is free.” Emerald Dash gave a prompt reply: “We would gladly do so.” Flameborn spoke up, somewhat bluntly. “Zecora, when can you return the foal?” She was always somewhat blunt (for want of a better word) in conversation. She didn’t quite seem to understand the fine complexities of manners. “Flameborn, you may now have her back. For I now know her winding track.” Zecora said, handing over the newborn. Flameborn turned to Emerald. “What name is she worthy of?” Emerald replied, his thoughtstream speaking aloud: “She has a rainbow mane and tail, an undisputed rarity among ponies. Rainbows are filled with colour, these six colours reflecting a wide variety of tones and moods. It’s a spectrum of complexity, and rainbows are of intense beauty. I believe Rainbow should be her name. Rainbow Flameborn Dash.” Flameborn replied: “Seems fitting. A truly awesome name, rather befitting for the daughter of one of Equestria’s finest warriors!” “I only hope she’s more modest than her mother.” Emerald snarked. Flameborn was typically belittling to anypony she ever spoke to. “Unlikely. And the mother is always right!” She attempted to stare down Emerald and frighten him into submission. “Alright, you win this time. Stop rubbing it in everypony’s face.” Emerald said lightly. “I do not rub stuff in everypony’s face! I just state the truth! False modesty doesn’t unveil a pony’s greatness!” Flameborn said, in a tone that created a thin line between joking and arguing, and nopony (or zebra) in the room could be sure which it was. “You hate false modesty? Wouldn’t have guessed.” Emerald said, very obviously sarcastically. Emerald was the notably softer of the two, but Flameborn (and Flameborn’s mind is the law here, because she dominated just about anything they ever did together) had nothing but utmost respect for him. Emerald was a highly intuitive figure, who was very analytical and a deep thinker. He always had a lot more in his mind than what he spoke. This latter point was made even stronger by the fact that he found it easy to analyze situations, but very difficult to come to any sort of conclusion. Hilariously enough to Flameborn, he was still quietly contemplating inside his head all of the potential problems that may be offered by his seemingly troublesome daughter, what may happen, how to solve it and whether or not this will actually do anything to solve the matter. Flameborn did not want to get into a philosophical discussion with Emerald, least of all when Zecora was present. Whilst warmly holding Rainbow, she found a quick chance to change the subject: “Hello, Emerald. Hello. What planet did you make it to?” She said somewhat mockingly. She was referring to one of Emerald’s psychological theories – his own idea that he had a vast solar system inside his head. “Not one that I haven’t been to before.” Emerald replied, having a good laugh. (She softened her voice, raising her pitch at the same time): “Rainbow, see Daddy over there? He’s always contemplating. Always contemplating, isn’t he?” Flameborn joked. She did this all the time. Chapter 2: A Threat from the North-west The pony kingdom of Equestria was vast. Earth ponies, Pegasi and unicorns all lived in harmony, each fulfilling a much needed role. Earth ponies were strong, and naturally durable, allowing them to be great farmers who provided food for the Pegasi and the Unicorns. Unicorns were scholarly and regal, with a strong sense of order that allowed them to handle their duties with maximum efficiency. They were also the only ones who had magic, allowing them to be specialized craftsponies. The Pegasi, who had wings were in charge of military duties. There were bands of Pegasi all over Equestria, with Cloudsdale as the Pegasus capital. Commander Windblazer of the Wonderbolts had been given an order by Princess Celestia to deal with a threat of wind demons from the north-west of Equestria. He read the letter to himself: “Dear Commander Windblazer, An emergency has arisen in north-west Equestria. Wind demons are ravaging the isle of Edonna, and we require an army to quell the masses. Gather no more than five of the hardiest warriors, but nothing less than the hardiest warriors we have. Immediate action is required. Signed: Princess Celestia.” And there was nothing more. Nonetheless, Commander Windblazer knew exactly who he wanted for this mission. Young fellow Wonderbolts Spitfire and Soarin’, great warrior Brazen Skylighter, Brazen’s sister Flameborn Dash and an old friend of Windblazer’s, Thunderblade (he had considered Emerald Dash, but as Rainbow was still only a foal this was not possible). Commander Windblazer believed that they were the five mightiest Pegasi in Cloudsdale, and soon they would be put to the test. With no further delay, Commander Windblazer flapped his wings, and took off to immediately inform his chosen five. Within fifteen minutes, they were off to the island of Edonna. It was a magnificent sight, to see six of the best fliers racing to their destination – or at least it looked as though they were racing. Furious turbulence was created behind them, knocking out any onlookers. They every so often moved sideways to avoid strong wind zones (and hoping not to collide with anypony in the process). The image of six of the fastest fliers, six of the most daring warriors, as friends, side by side, wind in their manes as they fly together on their adventure undoubtedly brought strong and moving feelings all through the witness. It felt like romance, except without lovers. There was no disputing the power of friendship. Some said that friendship was magic, and the saying may’ve seemed crazy at first, but if one sat down to think about it, it would not be long before one realized how true the saying was. Without friends and loved ones, there would be no reason to live life. (Emerald and Flameborn had taught this to Rainbow, and while at just under two years, she was far too young to understand it, both her parents were sure that the phrase would subconsciously etch itself inside Rainbow’s mind.) It was a long journey to the island of Edonna, one that for most Pegasi, was far too aggressive upon one’s wings and hooves (perhaps surprisingly, most Pegasi were not strong fliers). They would either fall short of strength or short of stamina (or in many cases, both). The ideal flying directions depended on the wind, and one had to be alert to make sure that they were taking the line with the least turbulence, whilst still travelling in the right direction. One had to pay close attention to avoid being caught up in turbulence, as the directions of wind could change whenever they liked, and sometimes without warning. Tornadoes often lay ahoof as well, and they could easily slaughter Pegasi, for if a Pegasus ended up on the inside of one, they would lose all their flight control, and consequently be thrown wherever the laws of physics pleased, wings battered and hooves limp. The six Pegasi arrived at their destination. The island of Edonna was sparsely populated, with no border patrol. Yet there were ponies who lived here – and ponies of all three varieties, albeit few. There was, however, a vital reason to keep Edonna defended. The island was a rich source of a very precious gem – sapphire, as well as being rich in gold ore. Princess Celestia could not, if Equestria were to continue functioning properly, allow this island to fall to the wind demons. The six studied the skies to see if they could spot any influence of disorder around. “Anypony see any unusual wind levels?” Commander Windblazer asked, his voice very serious, yet he spoke on a steeply rising intonation, which made his voice sound slightly concerned. All six looked around, but none of them could see anything. Commander Windblazer, sensing this, gave a quick order. “Spitfire and Soarin’, we shall scale this island together clockwise. The rest of you, scale anti-clockwise together. If you find the wind demons, shout to me. We’ll do the same in our case. Everypony understand?” “Yes, sir,” was the response of the other five, all spoken in unison. Without another word, the six scaled the island, saying nothing to one another, but their faces, mouths slightly open and teeth gritted indicated nothing other than fiercely intensive focus, trying to spot the smallest of oddities in the sky. Soon enough, Flameborn Dash, Thunderblade and Brazen Skylighter believed themselves to have located the wind demons. Brazen Skylighter, with his very keen eyesight spotted some seemingly un-naturally strong winds over to his left. “I think I’ve found them!” Brazen Skylighter called out to Flameborn and Thunderblade. “Where?” Flameborn Dash asked. “Over to the left. Follow me!” Brazen did not wait for their response before making the charge. Nonetheless, as the three of them moved together, the grotesque faces of wind demons (and they seemed to have no bodies) were now clearly visible. They were a company of five clones, roughly ten feet tall, with stone black eyes, bumpy foreheads and mouths that resembled black holes, and they were far removed from any sense of civilization. Wind demons were as cold on the inside as they were on the outside – should a pony come into contact with one, there was no avoiding imminent death from hypothermia. They bathed within mercilessly strong and cold winds, themselves far removed from any civilization or comfort. Their force field of wind – which was a circle of roughly a twenty-five metre radius, could safely have been called a death zone. “Fire can damage wind demons easily. I’m going in first!” Flameborn Dash shouted fearlessly, and dived straight into their force field. She was now flying at full speed, leaving behind a magnificent and warming trail of fire behind. She spent half a second studying the wind demons (and no more), and without further delay whirled around one of them, creating a ring of fire. She rose up, and flew less than a metre above a wind demon, praying that she had not misjudged her distance. The flame from her trail touched the wind demon’s head, and with a blood-curdling cry of pain, the wind demon vanished. Flameborn shook, but it was impossible to notice as she continued her flaming flight within the force field, seemingly immune to the effects of the mighty winds. She zoomed in all directions in an attempt to confuse the wind demons. The line she had taken led perfectly to taking out the second wind demon, which was seemingly a clone of the first one. She created her ring of flame once more, sealing the demon’s chances of escape. She opted to dive below the demon this time, roughly a quarter of a metre away from its minimum point. Once again, the demon let out a cry of pain, but this time Flameborn had hardly heard it due to the intensity of the winds around her. Three wind demons remained, with three Pegasi to bring their doom. Thunderblade was now directly above the death zone, attempting to use rainclouds to bring a lightning bolt upon one of the wind demons. The demon seemed oblivious to this, refusing to look anywhere outside of its home. Thunderblade jumped upon the cloud, sending a deathbolt to fall upon the wind demon. One more wind demon fell away, leaving only two. Meanwhile, Brazen Skylighter was now in the wind demon’s force field also, and his presence combined with Flameborn’s was bringing heat into the twenty-five metre circle of doom. Thunderblade took another cloud, and set that one to bring a storm upon a wind demon, to which it did. A loud bolt, yet inaudible within the crescendo of wind drove itself through one of the remaining wind demons. Flameborn had the last one in her sights, as she proceeded to create her ring of fire around the demon, to once again burn its forehead. The last demon had been vanquished. But all was not well, as the last demon had been forming a tornado within these winds. It had not fully formed until after the demon had met its doom, and Flameborn Dash was stuck inside of it. She helplessly screamed, but there was nothing she could do. The winds ravaged her wings and hooves, throwing her from high in the skies to a groundbound plummet. There was no escaping this fate. The tornado disintegrated much like the wind demons, but that was now besides the point. Thunderblade and Brazen Skylighter raced over to Flameborn Dash, who was lying on the ground, with the brightness of her rose eyes having almost completely disappeared. Commander Windblade’s party had also now located the wind demons, and the five Pegasi stood together, unable to believe their eyes. Flameborn Dash? Defeated? She’d always seemed far too tough for one to even think about her dying. “Don’t mourn me, friends. Rather, remember me as a fine warrior who fulfilled their duty. I always dreamed of being a heroine, and I’m proud of my bravery. Have you ever seen me cry? I doubt it. Rather, ask yourselves, what would a brave pony like Flameborn Skylighter do? (Her voice weakened) Emerald, don’t let my death tie you down! And I don’t doubt you, Rainbow. I… know you’ll… be… strong.” Without a further word, she passed away. Her words upon death, telling the others not to mourn her made the death even more sorrowful. Flameborn, brave, strong, brimming with life, boisterous, yet kind-hearted, with undying loyalty. Everypony loved her for her free spirit. Trying to imagine an Equestria without her was unbearable, and something that nopony was brave enough to do.
  20. Not a TV show, but I'd been imagining this with Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Spike as Link (both orphans, and the least exposed characters to what's around them (Link is at the start, anyway).) Fluttershy as Saria (only fitting for a race governed by a tree, and Saria's also very warm and tranquil) Rarity as Princess Zelda (regal, yet very friendly. They're also both dreamers, Rarity less so if anything.) Twilight Sparkle as Impa (very strong sense of duty, but slightly cold in her approach to others) Applejack as Darunia (somewhat boisterous, yet very affectionate with strong family bonds) Pinkie Pie as Ruto (both slightly creepy due to a poor sense of personal space, yet ultimately lovable) Rainbow Dash as Nabooru (a skilled fighter who admires Link for his guts.) Other characters - Big McIntosh as Medigoron. Apple Bloom as Link II. Zecora as Rauru. Sweetie Belle as Malon? Scootaloo would be a Gerudo guard. Oh, and the Castle guards making way for the Canterlot Royal Guards would change nothing. Luna as Din, Celestia as Nayru and Cadence as Farore. Ganondorf would be King Sombra, I reckon. Also, having recently watched The Hobbit, Radagast stood out on how Fluttershy-like he was. Going by that logic: Spike as Bilbo Baggins ("I was busy sleeping! Can't you ponies wake up at a decent time?") Twilight Sparkle as Gandalf Rarity as Galadriel Rainbow Dash as Thorin Oakenshield Applejack as the Dwarf elder (whose name I've forgotten) Pinkie Pie as Gollum Shining Armour as Elrond Surely the Alicorns would be among the Vala.
  21. I'm not sure what I think. Initially, I was firmly disapproving of the idea, regarding shipfics as ludicrous. And then I began to change my mind, with the idea that Rainbow Dash x Rarity is a very interesting idea. It's the only pairing that's ever come to interest me particularly, but I may end up changing my mind and developing an interest in other pairings also.
  22. Rainbow Dash and the Quest for the Diamond Unicorn Rainbow Dash awoke from her midday nap, into a surfacing state of mind. She watched her stream of thoughts that one so often does when in semi-consciousness. It was one of the many midday naps she had undergone, and much needed it was too – she felt exhausted after all her work clearing clouds, although it was more her boss than the actual job itself that wore her out. Transporting and clearing clouds were no problem for her (if left to her own devices, she would clear the sky in an impressive ten seconds flat), but unfortunately her ideal methods were declared “unsafe” and apparently “breached the terms of her work contract.” On many occasions Rainbow Dash simply did her job as she pleased, but unfortunately she had a boss who seemed to have eyes everywhere. Trotinari was his name, and none could quite be sure what he got up to, but none who ended up in a position to speak to him ever dared ask him that. Not even Rainbow Dash, who self declared herself “one of the boldest Pegasi to have ever lived.” And when Rainbow Dash made a claim about her abilities or awesomeness, her claim was likely to be completely outlandish, but annoyingly also correct. It is very easy to diverge, for this is merely the setting, and a narrator likes to cut the fat as quickly as possible, so that they can unveil a tasty joint of meat. And meat, horse meat to be exact was exactly what Rainbow Dash had on her mind. She was always sleeping around with a mare or a stallion (sometimes more than one in the same night), but not one of them could satisfy her desires. Others accused her of wild behaviour, but in Rainbow Dash’s eyes, this was an unfair and greatly over simplified accusation. She would never be tamed until she found the one pony that was truly right for her and Rainbow Dash believed she knew exactly who it was. Rainbow Dash didn’t know her nearly as well as she should’ve done, considering that they were virtually always together. The five ponies Rainbow Dash was closest to were Applejack, a great friend who shared her love of physical activity. They’d always fight each other, race together and hurl their fair share of insults at one another. Then there was Fluttershy, a friend from fillyhood whom Rainbow Dash regarded as a true legend and deep down, just as badflank as Rainbow Dash herself. Pinkie Pie was crazy and unpredictable, excellent for last minute ideas of which Rainbow Dash saw no coherent pattern, which was perfect for two ponies who hated predictability. They were also both lovers of mischief. Twilight Sparkle was a mistress of magic, much as Rainbow Dash was a mistress of flight. They were both fond readers (although Twilight was considerably more diverse in her genres). In particular, Rainbow Dash enjoyed the Daring Do series. And then there was Rarity, whom she very rarely spent any time with. For the reader who has no knowledge of Daring Do, she is a fictional adventurer. A seeker of ancient artefacts hidden deep within a jungle, these precious artefact once well guarded secrets, now they were legends fallen into the wrong hooves. The jungles of Coltombia were filled with gold, and ancient settlers had designed artefacts that were mighty beauties to behold. Many of them were master craftsponies, and it showed. “The Sapphire Stone was a beauty that was entirely blue, but contrasted two very sharp shades of blue. The stone itself was a metallic sky blue in colour and depicted an Ahuizotl, a ruthless and bloodthirsty animal with two heads, its vicious looking faces crafted to resemble most threatening facial expression, mouth open and its teeth scaled to perfection. The two faces looked at each other, making the statue entirely symmetrical. Towards the bottom rested the Sapphire stone, which was a deep dark blue that was much like the colour of Rarity’s eyes. Although these stories were fictional, they were based on legends, which Twilight Sparkle had confirmed to be true (and Twilight was never wrong on these matters). Rainbow Dash was determined to have Rarity for herself. She believed that Rarity was the one who could satiate her. The mare was deeply passionate and it showed all too well in her sapphire-like eyes. She behaved like a fairytale princess, with her love of fashion and her constant dreams of meeting the perfect stallion. But she was hardly a fairytale princess. She was feisty and just as strong of will as she was of heart. She was not especially athletic, but she knew exactly what love was about. She was a deeply sensual individual. Deep down, both of them were just as wild as one another. Unlike her friends Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash also lacked imagination, meaning that the only way that she could experience Rarity’s skill was while they were together. Rarity was a pony of class and sophistication. Rainbow Dash was charismatic, but for a pony like Rarity to succumb to Rainbow Dash the kind of charisma the latter possessed was not enough. Rarity had a natural shield towards seduction, her inter-ponial skills naturally top-notch. She knew exactly what a pony was feeling at one time and was rarely afraid to use it to her advantage. Yet Rainbow Dash had devised a scheme. She had invited Rarity on a cave exploring holiday in the Coltombian jungles. And although Rarity despised getting dirty, she loved beauty. The jungles were famed for their vast quantities of gold. And greater still were the artefacts that lay inside the cavern. If Rainbow Dash could claim one of those (and she was determined to undertake the challenge), she may be able to have Rarity bow down to her will, through a combination of the bravery required to reach such trinkets and the fact that the Pegasus could offer such a grand trinket. Rarity was a pony of fine quality, and Rainbow Dash knew that the best ponies are not won over easily. These paragraphs more or less sums up everything that was in Rainbow Dash’s thoughtstream. The free-spirited Pegasus was finally progressing towards full scale consciousness. It was time to wake up. She made a loud groan, flexing her hooves and her wings. It was now time to stand up. She had been napping on a cloud in the middle of nowhere, high above in the skies. But these clouds were exactly where Rainbow Dash wanted to be, as although she had a home, the clouds felt far more open. Nothing felt better to Rainbow Dash than freedom and wide open spaces. These brought her a feeling of power – for she could see for miles below, and the sky was quiet which meant that any noises could easily be heard, alerting her of unwanted presence. She felt completely secure and safe here. To look at Rainbow Dash, she was light blue in colour. Her mane and tail were rainbow-coloured, although on her mane it was the red, orange and yellow which were most prominent. These combined with her fiercely bright rose eyes gave her a very fiery, wild and even aggressive presence. She was very muscular as well, with distinctively powerful looking legs as a result, yet her overall presence was stocky rather than bulky. But stronger than her legs were her wings, which over the years had thickened – these clearly being the mark of a constantly exercising Pegasus. Her face typically bore a somewhat mischievous smile, one that allowed no pony to be entirely sure what she was thinking at any one time (apart from, as Sod’s law would have it, Rarity). It was now time for her daily flight. Rainbow Dash strained the muscles on her flank to fart (as gas made her heavier and would limit her acceleration). She proudly released a loud noise and dived forward, headfirst into the surrounding sky, controlling herself with a fast yet powerful flapping of her wings. She continued these flapping motions, now kicking back her rear legs to generate speed. 1! 2! 1! 2! The rhythm continued, her legs kicking back with the power of bass drum beats, steadily speeding in their pace. Her wings became sharper in their movements, as she determinedly attempted to achieve the fastest speed she had ever soared at. She quickly spotted a less turbulent zone to her left, so she made a rapid glide over. Any loss of speed was impossible to notice, and it was very quickly regained as she continued accelerating towards maximum speed. It was an utter amazement to watch, as her mane and tail left a rainbow through the sky (and at the speeds in which she was flying, that was the only way in which to tell where she had been). After reaching a certain speed (which was nearly as fast as that of a bullet), the Pegasus angled her face and allowed herself to loop the loop, leaving a rainbow ring behind as she did so. This was exactly what life should be about – freedom, speed, adventure, adrenaline, being on the verge of danger and the feeling that you can do anything. The powerful winds bought a rush all over the Pegasus’ body. It was time to proceed downwards, down towards the town of Ponyville. In much the same manner that one moves a steering wheel, she aggressively angled her face downwards to roughly fifty degrees. Down and down she travelled, slowing at the latest moment possible to avoid any unnecessary danger (although, seeing as this was Rainbow Dash, her definition of dangerous was… different). Nonetheless, she seemed to have perfected the art of late landings, with rapid kicks in her front hooves to slow down. She now hovered a metre above the ground, and gently dropped herself the last metre. She had some watchers from the ground as always, which she was only too proud of. There was Scootaloo, the young orange Pegasus with a purple mane and tail, who’d idolized her for a long time. Her sweet, yet enthusiastic shouts could be heard. “Awesome flying as ever, Rainbow Dash! Will you be here again tomorrow?” Scootaloo asked with a high pitched shout of intense excitement, the kind that only fillies and colts would ever speak in. “Same time tomorrow, Scoots. And I’ll be even more awesome than I was today.” Rainbow Dash spoke with a loud and boisterous voice, which had a certain raspiness that sounded like the result of shouting too much. “Do you need to be somewhere?” Scootaloo asked, smiling nervously, realizing the question may have alienated the Pegasus. “Unfortunately I do. But hay, I’ll be here again tomorrow and I’ll have more time then. See you around, little fella!” Rainbow Dash held a hoof out to Scootaloo, to which Scootaloo quickly high-hooved. Rainbow Dash did have business to attend to. Ever since she’d convinced Rarity to join her on this expedition, Rarity had requested something called “a preparations meeting.” It didn’t interest the Pegasus one bit, but she needed to make Rarity feel at ease as much as possible. Rainbow Dash, upon finally arriving at Rarity’s Carousel Boutique, gave an unusually polite knock. “Come on in!” Rarity said in a somewhat musical voice, which sounded like it was taken straight from melodrama. Although then again, just about everything Rarity ever did sounded like it came from melodrama. “Hay, Rarity!” The Pegasus bellowed, with her familiar raspy voice that would make one wonder what on Equestria did she sound like when she had a sore throat. “Rainbow Dash, do not come into my Carousel Boutique with wet hooves!” Rarity replied, in a voice that sounded like the voice an upper class pony would use to indicate anger. In fact, it sounded much like Rainbow Dash’s normal voice, except with Rarity’s eloquence. Rarity was a unicorn of class and sophistication, and it showed in her appearance. She was very well groomed, with her purple mane combed into a series of very thin wavy curls (and somehow, so was her tail, although one could never be sure as to how she’d pulled that off). She was white in her colour, a true “rarity” among ponies, but nonetheless widely regarded as one of the most beautiful colours there was. This white allowed her Cutie Mark, a trio of shining diamonds to radiate with power. But these three diamonds were not the most beautiful of the five gems the unicorn bore. The most beautiful gems she bore, at least in Rainbow Dash’s mind were the two sapphires she had for eyes. “Such a deep blue shade...” Rainbow Dash thought to herself. “Filled with power, and primal energy.” Rainbow Dash’s thoughts were ceased by the annoyed-sounding unicorn. “Rainbow Dash, dry your hooves and stop showing me your flank!” Rarity’s voice now sounded as though she were telling off a badly behaved schoolkid. Rainbow Dash couldn’t help laughing at Rarity’s response. The unicorn never quite seemed to be aware of the fact that ponies in Ponyville didn’t normally wear clothes. Ironically, this meant that despite her typically being the first among her friends to primly stick her nose up at a crude joke, she was often unintentionally the crudest among them, simply because she was the only one to ever pick up on it. Rainbow Dash dried her hooves on Rarity’s welcome mat, which seemed to be unusually posh and richly coloured for a welcome mat – but then again, this is Rarity we’re talking about. “My welcome mat really needs changing. After all the wet and muddy hooves I have been made to deal with, it has become discoloured from dirt. Oh, of all the dreadful things that could happen, this is the WORST POSSIBLE THING!” Rarity’s voice turned from a rant, to full scale whining. Rainbow Dash, much like anypony else, did not want to hear Rarity’s whining. It was very grating on the ears and brain. “So, you wanted me for some “preparations” meeting.” The Pegasus said in a somewhat rebellious sounding voice, much like that of a teenager attempting to sarcastically talk down to a figure of authority. “Greetings, Rainbow Dash. Why, I did indeed. After all, we cannot possibly travel without equipment. I know that I need my extensive beauty supplies. I need protective equipment, like boots to stop my hooves getting dirty. We will need a shelter, someplace to stay the night. And what have you booked in regards to travel?” Rarity asked, sounding deadly serious and formal in everything she said. “Travel? There’s a last minute flight that can get you there exactly as and when.” Rainbow Dash replied, sounding somewhat mischievous. Rarity raised her eyebrows in alarm, having quickly realized what the Pegasus was up to. Rarity raised her voice in a sudden mixture of shock and fury. “In the name of Cloudsdale, you know how much I detest sport! The prospect of me tugging onto your hoof for dear life is not exhilarating one bit as it is downright scary. (At this point she raised her voice further still) Least of all with a pony like you, who holds no regards for precautionary safety measures!” Rarity’s voice was now one of flat-out anger. As much as Rainbow Dash hated to admit it, Rarity was right. Rarity had always tried her best to be generous, and would never have dragged Rainbow Dash into anything she did not want to do. It was only right to treat a friend - especially such a great friend as Rarity, in a way she would never treat others. Secondly, Rarity could be killed if things went wrong. The thought of losing a friend through her own foolhardiness was unbearable. Rainbow Dash’s typical bravado almost completely departed her, as she said “I’m sorry, Rarity. You’re right. I’ll have a Friendship Express ticket ready in several minutes.” The Pegasus flew out of the Carousel Boutique without waiting for a reply from Rarity, and dived straight towards Ponyville train station. It was around three in the afternoon on a weekday, when most ponies were at work, so the queues for tickets were light. Walking up to a desk, Rainbow Dash gave out a “Hay!” that was ever so slightly quieter than her normal greeting. She was talking to a grey, male unicorn. His fur was in a poor condition and his green eyes lacked depth. He looked very tired and bored. “May I help you?” He was trying his best to sound polite, on the simple basis that it was a requirement in his job. If Rainbow Dash didn’t have what she believed to be an important duty to fulfil, she would’ve sarcastically responded “No. You can’t help me with anything.” She resisted the urge and instead said, “Yes. I’m here because I need a ticket to Coltombia this Friday.” Her voice sounded blunt, but not threatening – at least if you knew her it didn’t. For a stranger, one couldn’t quite be sure. Regardless, it created a “don’t mess with me” tone that was exactly the feeling Rainbow Dash wanted to assert over another. The stallion responded, stepping back slightly. “Coltombia? Friday? Morning or afternoon?” He seemed rather a stoic, speaking with seemingly programmed speech. Rainbow Dash hesitated and closed herself by moving one of her hooves upon her chin and gently tapping the top of it. She wanted to be certain before making the decision, and this meant stepping into Rarity’s boots. For some, trying to imagine one’s thinking complex was as painful as the feeling in one’s gut after eating mouldy hay, but fortunately Rainbow Dash was not the type who would go into the extensive details of analyzing another individual’s mind inside out. Rainbow Dash made a slight giggle to herself as she imagined Twilight Sparkle in her situation making a very extensive decision-making process. For Rainbow Dash, however “What would Rarity want? She always talks about getting her beauty sleep. And she hates being rushed.” These factors pointed all too clearly towards the afternoon, so that would be the time. Rainbow Dash cleared her hoof from her chin, and rapid-fired “Afternoon!” upon the grey unicorn. Trying his best to remain stoic towards the rather flamboyant Pegasus, the stallion quickly moved his face to the side, and tried his best to robotically return it to face Rainbow Dash once more. “Okay, we have a train at 13:37 and one at 15:37. Which one would you like?” All questions end on a rising tone, but he paused in the middle of a five word sentence, which made all of his speech seem un-natural. It was bound to be a long journey. Rainbow Dash wanted some time to explore on the first day, and on that basis it was clear which one to go for. “13:37.” The stallion now spun around halfway, at a slow speed but void of even the slightest changes, until he stopped when he was exactly, or roughly one hundred and eighty degrees around. Judging by the robotic behaviour he displayed so well, chances were that he’d been made to practice this hundreds of times before actually doing his shift, until he was consistently turning exactly one hundred and eighty degrees. The extent to which a boss typically cared about propriety was hilarious, impressive and sad all at once. After finding a ticket from someplace over the counter, the grey unicorn levitated the ticket over to Rainbow Dash. “There you go. Ticket for the 13:37 to Coltombia on Friday. That’ll be fifteen pieces. Is that all right? (Rainbow Dash handed them over) Bye bye.” “HEY RAINBOW DASH!” It was a very loud, high-pitched and happy sounding voice that could only ever have been associated with one pony. “Pinkie Pie? How did you find me?” Rainbow Dash said, slightly shocked. It wasn’t all that unusual being found by Pinkie Pie (who seemed to have a knack for knowing exactly where a pony was at any one time.), but she’d often find somepony when they least expected it. “I followed your hoofmarks! The angle of the rainbow trail you left behind made it all too obvious where you’d landed!” (At this, Rainbow Dash began questioning more and more inside her head. She hadn’t left behind a rainbow trail for much of the landing stages, so for Pinkie Pie to have worked that one out it required an immense deal of intuition. And knowledge of the pony in question. How the hay did Pinkie Pie know THAT much about her friend? Then again, it wasn’t a smart move to ask Pinkie Pie questions, unless you were trying to melt your brain. Unfortunately, Pinkie Pie’s antics regularly made you want to ask questions of the most outlandish kind possible.) And then I followed your hoofmarks all the way here!” Pinkie Pie said, bouncing all around Rainbow Dash and consequently making the latter feel a tad uncomfortable. “Not all that difficult, huh, Pinkie? I leave my mark everywhere I go!” Rainbow Dash said, boasting in the manner that only she could get away with. “Your Cutie Mark? Don’t be silly Dashy, your Cutie Mark was nowhere to be seen! Or wait, I found it!” She tagged Rainbow Dash’s Cutie Mark, an extreme breach of anypony’s privacy, for it was located on her flank. Rainbow Dash had “shown herself off” to many stallions and mares alike. This, however, was a bit more than the Pegasus felt comfortable with. “Ummm… Pinkie? Not here, please. For decency’s sake.” A horrible feeling crept up in her sixth sense that seemed to have momentarily paralyzed an area of her brain. She was sure she’d said the wrong thing (although, that was very easy to do when Pinkie was around. Pinkie Pie managed to make Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy believe that Rainbow Dash thought Fluttershy was a tree, as a result of misunderstanding Rainbow Dash’s sarcasm.) Pinkie Pie stopped talking. For about half a second, she managed to completely stop moving, which she always did whenever she lost track of what she was talking about. The moment that half a second was over though, she’d come rattling at you with all guns blazing. “What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, now I remember, there’s a party on tonight! One of my very own specialities in fact! There’ll be many guests, mares and stallions alike! AND MY NEW POTION IS THERE FOR EVERYPONY TO TRY! Hey Rainbow Dash! There’s a party on tonight! One of my”- Pinkie Pie appeared to be reciting exactly the same speech, word from word, twice. Regardless, Rainbow Dash was quick to raise a hoof against Pinkie’s mouth. “Ya’ know Pinkie, for a pony who never forgets anything, you seem to forget a lot of things.” Pinkie Pie appeared to completely ignore everything Rainbow Dash said, and instead replied: “So, Rainbow Dash, will you be at my party once more?” As Pinkie Pie had grown older, she had begun to bring a new atmosphere to her parties. What was once a party fuelled by innocent laughter was now a party fuelled by competition, where dangerously daredevil antics (such as seeing who could take the hardest knock on the head, or seeing who was the most willing to expose oneself to a storm) would likely make you the party star. (And party star in this case meant you got the first choice on who to sleep with.) And with guests like Rainbow Dash, avoiding competition was like trying to avoid freezing in the icy north in that it was never going to happen. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie had always been by far the wildest within their circle of friends, and it had shown most as they’d grown, now that Rainbow Dash was the only one who fully enjoyed Pinkie Pie’s “new” partying methods. Pinkie Pie was always brewing strange potions, which the resident herbalist Zecora had deemed unsafe. Pinkie Pie made them anyway, and goodness knew what would befall a pony who drank too much of them (and there was no avoiding the potions at Pinkie Pie’s parties). Not even Pinkie Pie knew. Rainbow Dash, being naturally fuelled by danger was never likely to decline. Yet, despite this, Rainbow Dash did have doubts. She certainly didn’t want to sleep with any more ponies than she already had done. It soon enough had become graining, almost routine-like. Stallions would try and satiate her, only to fail. Sure, some of them managed great feats of ferocity and stamina. But each time, Rainbow Dash found herself longing for more. She wanted passion. Intensive electrifying passion, with strong sensual pleasure. She wanted love. As exciting as Pinkie Pie’s potions were, they always weakened one’s senses in one way or another. Pinkie Pie seemed to have read the expression on Rainbow Dash’s face quickly enough that it seemed to be before Rainbow Dash even realized how she felt herself. The latter looked grumpy, and bordering on depressed as her cheeks inflated, which made her face look far heavier than normal. Pinkie Pie looked as though she was about to cry. “I’m sorry, Pinkie Pie, but not this time I’m afraid. I don’t really have time to explain my reasons now, but I’ll explain things later. Will I find you in Sugarcube Corner?” Rainbow Dash could never hurt the pink pony-shaped sugarball’s feelings. Pinkie Pie trusted Rainbow Dash well enough to know that she would never, ever, refuse her company without a good reason. Rainbow Dash, in turn was fully aware that Pinkie Pie felt this way. Pinkie Pie seemed to cheer up very quickly indeed, as she blasted out non-sequiturs once more. “Yes! I’m always in Sugarcube Corner! Apart from when I’m not in Sugarcube Corner, like that time I rode up to Cloudsdale in my last minute contraption! Oh, and that time I kept sneaking up on a disloyal Twilight! And many other times! I’m never in Sugarcube Corner!” Rainbow Dash believed that this meant yes, but she couldn’t entirely be sure. “Don’t take it to heart Pinkie. My reasons have nothing to do with you.” “Okey dokey lokey! See you later at Sugarcube Corner!” It was now apparent that Pinkie Pie could definitely be found in Sugarcube Corner later on in the day. Rainbow Dash, without any further delay, flew straight back to Rarity.
  23. Second disappointing episode in a row, if anything this one was worse for me. Mainly for two reasons: The first of them was that Applejack seemed out of character. In Apple Family Reunion, she seemed to be an awful lot like Twilight Sparkle in her almost "computer-like" methods of dealing with matters. But in that episode, it actually worked. Here, she showed similar traits, and ended up coming off like an idiot. Spike bowed down to Applejack, saying he'd do anything, and Applejack has shown herself to have enough common sense in the past to have been able to realize that this was her chance to dismiss Spike. Maybe we could've even had an old fable from Applejack - the Apple Family seem to know a fair few bits of old folklore. Secondly, I did not like Pinkie Pie's experiment. Pinkie Pie was just being her weird and crazy self, but frankly, the rest of the Mane 6 were treating Spike like an idiot, expecting him to fall for their plan. Spike is NOT an idiot! Naive, but not an idiot. If I were Spike, I would've been very angry if a friend treated me like this. I'd regard it as flat out mockery! In fact, that reminded me of the Mysterious Mare Do Well.
  24. I'd like to say I'm friendly, but I've never been friendly towards myself (merciful, but not friendly), so I can't really decide. I am however, willing to give anyone the benefit of the doubt on first sight, and until I'm proven wrong I will continue feeling this way.
  25. A truly interesting idea. The scene has been set incredibly well, and I very much look forward to see what this can be turned into.
