  1. I kind of agree with you (especially in regards to favourite pony). In general though, Rarity's always been a little messy (ironically) in terms of screen time. She had no episodes to herself in the first half of Season 1, but did get much more screen time in the second half of the season. Season 2, I'm not sure - I think she got her fair share of prominence in episodes overall, although it did seem to wane slightly after Hearth's Warming Eve (but picked up again with Putting Your Hoof Down). Going by this pattern, Rarity may get more prominence in the last five episodes. She has, however, become the target of Rainbow Dash's belittling this season (The Crystal Empire and Sleepless in Ponyville). In other episodes this season, she has been somewhat sidelined though.
  2. Sleepless in Ponyville. I'd always been a big Rainbow Dash fan, but I'd beforehand seen Scootaloo as a flat character - a wannabe Rainbow Dash who tried to copy everything the latter did except that she could never pull off Rainbow's badass attitude. And truth be told, I felt as though I was kind of correct, but with Scootaloo's extreme fear of rejection by her idol, I began warming towards her. Rainbow Dash was portrayed perfectly - she's always been a jerk with a heart of gold, but often, due to her brashness and general lack of empathy, her heart of gold side is easily overlooked. Much like in Hurricane Fluttershy (at least in the second half), she maintained her brash behaviour but showed herself to be empathetic when it was needed most, and did not seem one bit out of character. Magic Duel was also great, but lacked the brilliance of Sleepless in Ponyville.
  3. Absolutely brilliant. I could completely imagine this happening. Your interpretation of Beavis and Butthead is spot on.
  4. I'd always believed that Fluttershy had been abused, and constantly made to feel worthless. It seems I'm not the only one who thought this, judging by earlier posts. As for Rainbow Dash, I'd had the idea that her parents raised her well, but she lost her mother at an early age. For whatever reason, she believed herself to be responsible and is constantly trying to amend for it with brave and heroic feats (If she hadn't been stopped by Applejack in Dragonshy, she would've dived straight into the dragon's cave alone, with nopony even close to her.) Perhaps the fact that she lost her mother explains her aggression. She's a caring individual, no doubt about it, but hides her caring self under a facade of aggression and constant belittling of others. She lost an individual she loved and knows the pain, so as a result does not want to be a figure of attachment. Actually, I realize now that my post makes no sense. I'll post it anyway, but my theory is not a certain one. And what happened once her mother died? Did her father lose his grip on sanity? Did he fall into constant depression?
  5. My initial thoughts rested with Applejack. She's the kind who could put her feelings behind her if she needed to live, and she's got all of the required attributes to survive. While others struggle to adapt to the required lifestyle, Applejack will be earning herself a headstart. And I think she'll correctly judge the right time to use the given advantage. Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity I believe would let their feelings get in the way. Spike lacks the maturity to survive. Twilight Sparkle is not strong enough - if confronted by Applejack or Rainbow Dash, she wouldn't have a chance. Rainbow Dash has the fierce determination to win, but she'd be much riskier in her methods than Applejack and could make herself a liability if things went wrong. Who else have we got? Lightning Dust is ruthless and aggressive enough, much like Rainbow Dash. So is Gilda - I could see those 2 potentially surviving. The Flim Flam Brothers are ruthless enough, but probably lack the physical strength. Big McIntosh has the strength, but isn't quick-minded. I could however, see him as a potential surprise. The Cutie Mark Crusaders are too young. Ultimately my choices rest with Applejack, Gilda, Lightning Dust, Rainbow Dash and maybe Big McIntosh.
  6. I agree entirely. Rainbooms and Royalty is particularly well made - it's near enough incredible as makes no difference. May the Best Friends Win is not quite as great, but maintains the very strong characterization. On a separate note, Derpy (Ditzy Doo as she's called in these), plays a very large role, clearly not among the Mane 6, but she appears in many scenes and is given an interesting take which doesn't contradict the canon, but manages to greatly deepen the character.
  7. Many of you are probably aware of the pony version of the MBTI, which links each of the 16 types to a character (which was an incredibly great idea). But how agreeable do we think these choices are? Here's the link: http://cartoonoveranalyzations.com/2011/05/23/the-myers-briggs-type-indicator-for-ponies/ Firstly, in case you're curious, I'm an ENFP (according to this chart, a hyperactive pink pony made of sugar, who is not very well grounded in reality.) Now for my opinions (and everything here is entirely my opinion): I agree on Big McIntosh, Zecora, Spike, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Applejack's placements. The others, I'm either unsure of or I flat out disagree. Sweetie Belle comes across to me as something of a dreamer, with an abstractness that seems far more Intuition than Sensing. Introversion and Feeling I'm sure are correct. Judging or Perceiving - I'm not sure. Seeing as she's Rarity's sister, I'll give the benefit of the doubt and go with Judging. She's, in my book, INFJ or INFP. I don't think of Celestia as a Judging type. She seems too chaotic and seems to value certain degrees of disorder (Griffon the Brush Off, A Bird in the Hoof, The Cutie Mark Chronicles in Twilight's flashback and most notably, The Best Night Ever.) In fact, is Celestia even a Thinking type? A part of me reckons she favours Feeling (namely her wish to watch others grow around her), but I'm not sure. I will say that she's INFP or INTP. Luna, I think INFP is right, but I don't have the evidence to cement this belief. She's too quiet to be an Extrovert. I couldn't imagine a Sensing type being in charge of dreams. Her transformation to Nightmare Moon, and the reasons behind it to me indicates a strong Feeling preference. Judging or Perceiving, I am really not sure. Like Sweetie Belle, she's either INFJ or INFP. Twilight Sparkle is not a Perceiving type. She thinks like a computer, with her very organized and structured lifestyle, planning things up to weeks in advance. She's not the type who likes surprises. The rest of her functions seem correct. I'm vehement that she's an INTJ. Is Scootaloo a Feeling type? I'm not sure. ESxP seems right, but generally Scootaloo seems to be too much of a doer and too practical to be a Feeling type. She's to the Cutie Mark Crusaders what Rainbow Dash is to the Mane 6, so ESTP is the obvious type, and the one that I believe fits her best. Apple Bloom's a tricky one. Intuition and Perceiving definitely seem right (she often plays the role of annoyingly inquisitive child, especially in Season 1). The other functions, I could go 50-50 on. ENTP is one of four types I could see Apple Bloom as, the others being INTP, INFP and ENFP. Cheerilee? I haven't got a clue. The character never interested me much, and as such I've never been bothered to think about her to any great lengths. Rarity has a well developed Intuitive side (Secret of My Excess, with her fashion theory she discussed with Twilight comes to mind). In stark contrast, her cutie mark sums up her love for physical beauty. As well as that, she loves her weekly get together at the Spa. Both of these traits seem very Sensing oriented to me, and I believe it's her preference. ESFJ. I do not think of Trixie as a Judging type. She's a travelling performer, which is the kind of career that I could not picture a Judging type undertaking (there's little to no sense of structure). Extroversion and Thinking are definitely right, and seeing that she's a magician she probably is fairly intuitive. ENTP is my belief. On another note, I shall order the Mane 6 and Spike from most extreme on one end to most extreme on the other. The middle ellipsis separates the two sides. Extroversion...Pinkie, Rarity, RD, AJ...Spike, Twilight, FS...Introversion Intuition...Twilight, Pinkie...Rarity, Spike, AJ, FS, RD...Sensing Feeling...FS, Pinkie, Rarity...AJ, RD, Spike, Twilight...Thinking Perceiving...Pinkie, RD, Spike, FS...AJ, Rarity/Twilight...Judging
  8. Rainbow Dash is a tomboy (in fact, she's incredibly boyish) and as such, she has numerous traits that make her a stark contrast from others. Contrast Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity, all of whom are very empathetic, warm and maintain a typically friendly persona. Rainbow Dash, in contrast, does not. She constantly belittles her friends (Applejack and Twilight Sparkle especially, and in recent episodes Rarity's got the brunt of it), in a similar way to how boys do. Boys are anything but soft to one another, instead determined to prove their dominance. Interestingly, despite their typically vitriolic behaviour, boys can maintain a much more stable friendship than girls, who frequently fall out with one another and change friends. Rainbow Dash does not generally offer words of sympathy, but rather acts as a friend through her contagious enthusiasm ("Go get 'em, big guy," said to Spike in Dragon Quest comes to mind). She didn't apologize to Tank after realizing she was wrong, but made it very clear that she realized how mistaken she was. After Hurricane Fluttershy, she has nothing but praise, and more praise for Fluttershy. Then there's The Mysterious Mare Do Well. In actual fact, Rainbow Dash is memorable for her arrogance in this, but it arguably wasn't natural. She'd become famed for her heroic deeds, which she'd done a genuinely great job on. In fact, at first, she says that what she had done was nothing, but the citizens of Ponyville think otherwise. She was convinced by the citizens that she was even more awesome than she believed herself to be, and the fame got to her head. So why does she have such a big ego? There are several potential reasons: firstly, Rainbow Dash is clearly inspired by a rising famed performer (sport stars and rock stars come to mind). Both those fields are brimming with arrogant souls (Axl Rose, anyone?) I believe it's a psychological tool that's required to allow one to win (if you doubt yourself, you will become settled too easily in mediocrity). The second reason, perhaps the more logical one, is that she was bullied. Despite being bullied, she has a generally "fuck you" esque attitude. The best way not to let bullies get to you is to believe that you're superior to them, something that Rainbow Dash most definitely seems to believe (and appears to be correct). Now going back to the former reason, this was highlighted in Wonderbolt Academy. At the start, when with the rest of the Mane 6, she did nothing but talk about how great she was. (She does it to degrees in other episodes, but she showed none of her ego in episodes such as The Last Roundup, Hurricane Fluttershy and Party of One). Because she felt confident, she was able to not be intimidated by Spitfire. By the end of the episode, when she had proved herself she demonstrated none of the ego we saw in the first half, because she had no reason to do so. And that's another thing that's great about Rainbow Dash. She never pretends to be good at anything she isn't. She likes to be seen for her awesomeness, and will showcase it in whatever way possible. Think about it, in Dragonshy, she was quickly stopped by Applejack. Her intention was to dive straight into the dragon's hideout, and get rid of the dragon for once and for all. That takes guts, the kind she claims to have, and most definitely does. She was willing to sacrifice her life! Dragonshy comes to mind as an episode that does not put her in a favourable light. She's constantly talking down to Fluttershy, clearly angry because Fluttershy is spoiling her plan (if it can even be called a plan). And in fact, Rainbow Dash is not completely wrong in her doubting of Fluttershy. Fluttershy is holding them back during an emergency. Rainbow Dash is blunt, to the point and a doer. She will get done exactly what needs to be done, and will stop at nothing to do so. In The Last Roundup, she was the most vehement on bringing Applejack back to Ponyville. Some say that leaving Pinkie Pie and Rarity behind was cruel, but that's being idealistic in my opinion. If they'd stopped, Applejack would've got away. In fact, Rainbow Dash was doing it for Applejack's own good. In Party of One, she dragged Pinkie Pie all the way to Sweet Apple Acres. In Suited for Success, Rainbow Dash came up with the scheme to bring Rarity out of exile (it was a little cruel, but I think everypony could agree it was for the better). Finally, Fall Weather Friends. I've mentioned above about her ego. Everything she did in that episode after a certain point was bang out of order, but she seemed genuinely unhappy at the end: more because of her unsportspony-like behaviour than losing from what I saw. And after belittling Twilight Sparkle at the start of the race, one is given the impression that, much like in May the Best Pet Win (although, granted, it's not made as explicit) she was proud of Twilight. The scene at the end is a great scene that, in my opinion, completely undoes everything that happened during the episode. Make what you will of this. I'll leave the conclusion to you, as I believe that's fairer.
  9. I thought this episode was good enough until the last 5 minutes. Very often, these final 5 minutes can make an episode for me (Hurricane Fluttershy and Sonic Rainboom come to mind very quickly). I'm very happy with the way in which they portrayed Applejack here. Arguably, because Applejack's the middle one among her brother and sister, she's kind of... not thought much of. This may explain why she likes to prove herself. We've seen before, in Applebuck Season and The Last Roundup, that she has a very strong sense of duty. However, in those episodes, her mistake was believing she was capable of something she wasn't. Here, Applejack took everything Granny Smith told her on board, and made the unfortunate mistake into believing she should stick by it (and as a result of this the family reunion became too rigid and boring). We can see very clearly how none of the characters are enjoying themselves (Apple Bloom and Babs Seed make it most obvious), yet Applejack is not listening because she's doing an Apple Family Reunion by the book (which, judging by Granny Smith's comments, are generally very successful). Applejack's mistakes became apparent reasonably early on, and one could clearly pick out a moral: Social gatherings should not be done by the textbook, but rather by listening to the wishes of others and allowing them to do what they wish to do. This should've been the moral of the episode, but that got completely sidelined, and they somehow managed to make raising the barn enjoyable. Meanwhile, you've got ponies dancing and whatnot, having a merry time, but they're not raising the barn at that moment! Unfortunately, raising a barn is hard work, and not fun, and any kids who've watched this episode have been given a dreadfully misleading message. Even worse, they were forced into raising the barn, rather than doing it out of their own choice. Those final 5 minutes felt rather like the last 5 minutes of Winter Wrap Up, except that vaguely made sense (Twilight Sparkle was able to very efficiently organize everything). This, in contrast, didn't.
  10. Fluttershy. Her softness is combined with a naivety and inner filly, which brings out a real feeling of innocence which is magnified by the fact that she seems to be an idealist. Cutest moments: "I'd like to be a tree," and "I wish I could be brave in my closet, with my teddy bear." Rainbow Dash is very cute as well (though she'd kill me if she knew I thought that). She's got a voice which sounds like that of a pre-pubescent boy, which gives a feeling of immaturity. Which shows, in that she's very hot-blooded. Much like Fluttershy, this gives her a feeling of innocence underneath her capability, magnified further by her vulnerability (albeit for a very different reason to Fluttershy). (If you're wondering why I think she's vulnerable, it's because of her chosen path and her desire to join the Wonderbolts. If she screws things up she'll be knocked out into the cold)
  11. This idea is absolutely awesome. You've earned yourself a fan! Unfortunately I can't think of any team names right now. Could Discord and Queen Chrysalis' team be Ferrari? Discord can apparently speak Italian. On a separate note, Rarity as Defending Equestria Champion seems hilarious; I can just imagine her shouting things on the radio such as: "Oh woe! Not more sweat!" "All that sweat I had to bear for this reward!" "Can't you find me equipment that absorbs sweat?" "This heat is dreadful, and does not give me the appearance of a true lady." Rarity team radio would be epic.
  12. I really don't feel as though Pink Floyd would fit Applejack. A song like Wish You Were Here could fit Twilight Sparkle quite nicely though. As for my opinions: Twilight Sparkle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGM-wSKFBpo Or actually, perhaps not. Maybe this instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baksZqjhsUY Twilight Sparkle did give Rarity an astronomy lecture, after all. Rainbow Dash: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPkUVOKmls0 Rainbow Dash is most definitely a rockstar at heart. Rarity: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1btUMdEwYcs Rarity is very in tune with her feelings and also sensual, much like this song. Fluttershy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKFIlO8KBlo I thought this song is quite fitting for an admirer of beauty. Applejack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asq8UKoVcVQ I believe this song would be good. Or this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5wkPiBcc_4 Pinkie Pie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZkzZIUiHzs She's probably said most of this at one stage or another.
  13. There seem to be a lot of Rainbow Dash fans posting on here, and she's also my favourite character. I remember how after my love for Rainbow Dash went even further with Sonic Rainboom, I didn't really manage to enjoy the next few episodes all that much (I've grown to appreciate 3 of them on a second watch) because Rainbow Dash was either completely absent (Stare Master), a background character (The Show Stoppers, Green Isn't Your Colour) or quite a minor character (A Dog and Pony Show). My love of the show resurged with Over a Barrel, where the character got some screen time. I think I would still watch the show, but I'd lose interest very quickly indeed. In fact, chances are, they'd flanderize another character (probably Pinkie Pie, Applejack or Spike) to seem slightly more like Rainbow Dash. Suffice to say, please don't let it happen.
  14. 1. Rainbow Dash: I find her the easiest to associate with (for a starter, I like motorsport and always dreamed of being a hero). One has to love her free spirited and rebellious nature. She's also willing to take some quite extreme measures to help her friends (Dragging Pinkie Pie to Sweet Apple Acres, placing Opalescence in a tree, leaving 2 friends behind to reason with Applejack etc.), and that's why she, of all characters, is the Element of Loyalty. She's an amazingly well crafted character - and I actually like her ego (apart from on a few occasions), I think false modesty is just as bad as arrogance. 2. Twilight Sparkle: Easily the most intelligent character in the show, and the most open-minded. Sure, she's not as exciting as some of the others, but so often she speaks the words of wisdom (almost being the Gandalf of the Mane 6). In Dragon Quest, she was the only one who really understood what was best for Spike, in A Canterlot Wedding, she was the only one to recognise a false friend, in Feeling Pinkie Keen, despite ultimately being wrong everything she said was perfectly true (and she even fulfilled Rainbow Dash's role in her absence, and Twilight seemed much further from her comfort zone charging the Hydra). She is very conventional and orderly, which creates a well made Red Oni, Blue Oni contrast between her and Rainbow Dash (Twilight is Blue). 3. Rarity: I didn't like Rarity at first. Sure, she had her rare (no pun intended) flashes of greatness, but ultimately she seemed boring and prissy. Then came Suited for Success, and my opinion got shot in the face. A truly great friend to have, despite her bouts of vanity. Ladylike, as well as very well-mannered she demonstrates a somewhat damsel in distress esque persona, but when need be she's feisty and certainly not one to mess with (and usually manages to seem just as well mannered and ladylike). She's a pony of top quality, wanting only the very best of everything and she won't settle for less. In other words, a true Rarity if ever there was one. 4. Applejack: Applejack likes apples, rattlesnakes, gravy, lawnmowers and a few other things. Applejack is the Average Joe of the Mane 6, and in a group of extreme dynamics an Average Joe is much needed. She's of a very moderate personality and is excellent at settling disputes since everypony (except maybe Rarity) can associate with her in some way. Firm and strict, yet with a very upbeat persona at the same time as well as a strong moral code. She also doesn't panic easily, and does what needs to be done. 5. Pinkie Pie: Probably the character who stands out most. Whether or not you like her, she's definitely not forgettable and makes her mark on everything she does, whether it's for the good or for the better. What one has to admire the character for, is the fact that unless she's the focus of an episode, she has little bearing on the plot and is usually there more for laughs (rather like that one character you get in every pantomime, usually called Silly Billy or something along those lines). Pinkie Pie is actually very enjoyable in this role, and they still managed to create a character with great depth and a bizarre, yet believable mind. In fact, she's so bizarre that she's generally agreed on as logic defying, and if one tries to understand her, they will be mind screwed... FOREVER! 6. Fluttershy: One of the Mane 6 had to be my least favourite, and for me it's Fluttershy. I love her as a character, but she's the most flawed in her design. She can switch very erratically from very shy and quiet to very assertive and aggressive, which makes her great to watch. Unfortunately, sometimes, this doesn't make her all that believable (especially Green isn't Your Colour, where she manages to hold in her feelings for an impressively long time). Nonetheless, her patience and kindness make her truly lovable, as well as her ability to bring an aura of peace in her presence.
  15. This looks to me like the opening of something truly epic. They gave us a truly stellar finale for Season 2, which opened a tremendous amount of doors, and they've grabbed this opportunity by the heart. If this season premiere is as good as the first 8 minutes are, I think it'll top even The Return of Harmony. I do wish the episodes were released on Tuesday though (Lesson Zero and It's About Time).
  16. What stands out more is how the Mane 6 lean out of the window, even when going through a tunnel (or is that A Canterlot Wedding they do that?). Nonetheless, anyone who's seen The Young Ones must surely think of a certain scene. On a side note though, as much as I loved Chancellor Puddinghead, Commander Hurricane and Smart Cookie were awesome also. Having Rainbow Dash as a military commander is just too awesome to even think about. As for Smart Cookie, her reactions to Chancellor Puddinghead are simply splendour of the finest calibre. And Rarity as Princess Platinum gives us an absolute gem of a quote. "Do you see this invisble line?"
  17. One of my best friends is like that. He apologizes over every little thing, and rarely shows a hint of emotion. When his friends aren't around he is easily driven to madness.
  18. You'll like this place, I hope. I certainly do, anyway. Welcome to our herd!
  19. I charge up the stairs, and move my hands up the banister as I do so. Always. It's a good way to climb two flights of stairs within 30 seconds.
  20. Applejack: The "Average Joe" of the Mane 6. She's perhaps slightly forgettable because she's not that special. She's proud and stubborn, yet also very easy to get along with. Despite her pride, she remains humble at all costs, allowing her actions to speak for themselves. Despite her stubborness, if she's not the centre of attention (i.e the mountain climb in Dragonshy), she shows herself to be rather flexible, and I admire the fact that she was willing to go out of her way to comfort Fluttershy. She shows herself to be very level-headed, doesn't panic easily and has a strong sense of focus. I see her as the most mature and well-rounded. Fluttershy: The Quiet One. She's kind of like a far more intelligent version of Lennie from Of Mice and Men - and their love of animals can most definitely be paralleled as both characters feel inferior to their own kind, so petting animals creates a sense of superiority. She's gentle and loving, and a good friend to all (and incredibly cute). She does however, seem to suffer from some kind of disorder (I don't think it's Tourettes, nor ADHD, but something along that line). She's fully aware of all her shortcomings, and does her best to keep them at bay with a very peaceful and relaxing lifestyle. PINKIE PIE: SHE'S PINKIE PIE AND SHE THREW THIS PARTY JUST FOR US! A CLOUDCUCKOOLANDER TO THE END, WHOSE PERCEPTIONS ON MOST MATTERS SEEM TO BE VERY DIFFERENT TO OUR OWN (POSSIBLY EVEN DISCORD STYLE). EVERY SOCIAL GROUP HAS THAT ONE FRIEND NOBODY UNDERSTANDS, AND PINKIE PIE FULFILLS THAT ROLE PERFECTLY. SHE'S ONE HUGE PARTY WHEREVER SHE GOES - FUN LOVING AND WARM, WITH LIMITLESS ENERGY. AND SHE'S MET BRONIES BEFORE - SHE HIDES IN TV SCREENS AND COMPUTERS ALL THE TIME! BUT I LOVE HER FOR WHAT SHE DOES! Rainbow Dash: Adrenaline loving, free and wild. The more dangerous a situation, the more at home she feels. She seems to get bored easily and comes across to me as having a rather short attention span. She's incredibly ambitious and possibly thinks she's able to do more than she really can. Her aggressive nature creates an attitude of "I'll never falter, stumble or kneel," which serves as a double-edged sword. She has never ONCE come across as one for bickering, and would much rather deal with a volcano from the core. Frequently, it is Rainbow Dash who brings the Mane 6 together (even moreso than Twilight Sparkle). On the other hand, she is self-centred, as is universally agreed. If there's a boulder blocking her path, she'll destroy it. Rarity: And what an admirable character she is! Very high strung, with high expectations from both herself and others (possibly moreso than RD). She demonstrates truly female qualities with pride, which is a true rarity, especially in this day and age. She's also more realistic than other characters (bar maybe AJ). And despite her femininity, she's anything but submissive. She's elegant, yet feisty and true to her convictions. And despite her sometimes selfishness (Sisterhooves Social springs to mind), in the same episode she proves that she is always there for those she cares for. Twilight Sparkle: She's the clever one. Cynical and hard working, yet fearful that her standards are too low. She's always ready to disagree with even her best friends if need be, and quite often she's either correct, or the closest to correct. If she needs to do something (or believes she does), she will NEVER shirk away from the task at hand. Especially in the first season, she wrote many letters to Princess Celestia, genuinely learning from everything around her, proving to be a quick learner. And the most wonderful part is that in the Season 2 Finale, all her lessons of friendship are put to good use when she promptly realizes a false friend. She may not be the most exciting character, but she's what most people could only dream of. Favourite to least favourite: 1. Rainbow Dash (10/10) 2. Applejack/Twilight Sparkle (9.8/10) 4. Rarity (9.7/10) 5. Fluttershy (9.6/10) 6. Pinkie Pie (9.3/10)
  21. In terms of being a fast flyer, Rainbow Dash could outpace the Wonderbolts (they wouldn't make it easy, but she'd manage it). Unfortunately, she doesn't always know her capabilities, and believes she can do more than she's capable of. She crashes many times. As well as that, Rainbow Dash has a poor sense of discipline. She appears to have become more mature in recent episodes (Hurricane Fluttershy, possibly A Canterlot Wedding (but we didn't see enough of her to be sure,) though, but that's just once. Apprentice level, maybe. Full time member, not yet. I agree that the Wonderbolts need an appearance where they don't fail though. An episode that centers on the Wonderbolts would be truly "wonderful" - seeing as their adventures would surely be epic, breathtaking (and probably something straight out of RD's best dream) maybe even the finale? I'd love that, although I doubt it would happen. But maybe another episode.
  22. Did anyone notice the Rocky Horror Picture Show reference in this episode? I'm referring to Rainbow Dash giving Spike the dumbells as his birthday gift.
  23. Apple Bloom. I admire her for her gutsy and courageous nature. If anything, her best episode was Bridle Gossip, which showed us her character better than any subsequent CMC episode.
  24. Another few I forgot: "We wouldn't care even if you came in 50th place!" - Rainbow Dash to Applejack. "YOU'RE ME! But that makes no sense, because I'm me!" - Twilight Sparkle to her future self. The whole converse between Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy at the end of Hurricane Fluttershy.
  25. OPALESCENCE!!! I'm not sure I'd want her as a pet, but she's definitely my favourite pet. The other pets seem appropriate for their owners, but Opalescence most certainly doesn't. On a side note though, this is Rarity we're talking about, and she never complains about Opalescence (at least I don't think she does), so there must be something truly great about the cat. And, Opalescence was involved in Rainbow Dash's pet contest! She "helped" Rainbow Dash decide which pet she should get. Tank's a close second. A complete and utter badass that even Rainbow Dash found worthy.
