I'm at a loss...

I have awesome friends who I met on another forum who decided that they are going to mail me an Applejack toy on Friday. Yay! :3

Here's the thing... Applejack doesn't come with a hat. The only way for me to buy an Applejack hat would be for me to buy the Sweet Apple Acres barn set that comes with another Applejack and all kinds of random stuff that I don't want or have the space for. Meaning that either I could buy the set, take the hat, and sell the rest of the set on ebay, or I would have to make my own hat.

I have searched high and low all over the Internet: YouTube, deviantArt, Google searches, etc. There have been zero tutorials for how to make a hat for Applejack. The closest I've found is how to make a plastic mold, but that is way too much money and work for me to do JUST to make the hat.

I really, really, really want Applejack to have a hat. But I have no idea how to get one for her.

Does anypony have any suggestions?

find a Woody (from Toy Story) doll with a detachable hat?

Woody NEEDS his hat!!!

You could always buy some cheap molding clay and make one. Or go to a craftstore and get a doll hat. Or take Barbie's hat.

Buy the set.

It is worth it.

I will buy it as a last resort. And then paint the hat brown.

Would need to find a small enough Woody... but then what would I do with him? :/

I've thought about molding clay. What kind of craftstore are we talking?

Can you not just buy the pony figurine with the hat on ebay?

Can't find one.

Make a cloth one.

What kind of cloth should I use? I'm not exactly a great sewer.

What about a barbie hat or something like that?

Someone else suggested that and it seems like a good idea, except that there aren't any Barbies lying around and I really don't wanna buy one myself just for the hat, lol.

I have no idea, a tough one, get a friend to do it for you.

Yeah, I might ask my mom to teach me since I might make my own plushies anyway. Start off with hand, then evolve to a powered one.

Hmm...As someone who sews hats are never easy...I'm gonna say try making one out of sculpey (best polymer clay I swear) And then practice on a tinfoil ball the same circumface (size) of AppleJack's head. Then paint it with acrylics as you wishs and then seal with modge podge or Mr. SuperClear.

This is on a mere idea from experience in trying to find stuff for BJD's.

A girl in my group said she found some doll hats at Hobby Lobby and they sometimes have them a Michael's. I got some polymer clay for about 5 bucks at Michaels once.

I live by both of those! :D

Best suggestion yet! Thanks, Imma try finding a doll hat. I could use polymer clay if I had to, though.

Powered plushies? The mind boggles!

J/K!

I know you mean hand and machine sewing!

PS. My mom collects dolls. If I ever get a hatless Applejack, I know right where to go!

Guys! :D

So I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and found a 2 inch black doll hat. I also bought brown fabric paint and have been giving it multiple coats of brown paint so that it can be a brown hat instead of a black hat. It looks excellent so far, although a 2 inch hat was probably too big, but oh well. :)

Thanks for the help, guys. My Applejack should be here in a few days. :3
