Eh, not my thing anymore. The hats kind of killed it for me. Especially the F2P

 

Well, yeah, I preferred it back in the old day, but I find the game's still fun when you play with friends.

If anyponies on here want to try and make ourselves a big room to play in or something sometime I'd be game. I do love me some TF2, in small doses.

 

I absolutely love playing Spy, and sometimes I can be a pretty nasty one. It's one of the best classes I've played in a FPS. Otherwise I love the Engineer, nothing better than building a turret in one of the most unfair spots and racking in the free kills. Sometimes when I get really bored I'll play as Demoman and have fun getting tons of kills bouncing nades around walls like a madpony.

Best FPS evar. I usually play Heavy/Demo/Sniper, mostly because I'm a defense oriented guy, but I also enjoy playing Scout.

Cross platform play for FPS's is generally a bad idea since, in general, PC players are a lot faster than those on consoles. I remember back in shadowrun, PC players would destroy Xbox players like nobodies business.

I've started playing TF-2 yesterday and I kinda suck xD

I think it's a bit hectical if you are used to Shooters like CoD. Also I have some problems with getting used to mouse+keyboard instead of gamepad. Anyway it's a lot of fun and the amount of Bronys in the game seems very high(I saw one named RainbowCrash and a Flutterguy)

Do you have any advices for a TF2 noob(classes, mouse-sensibility, item-shop ect)?

i love tf2! i got 453 hours played atm and it is my favorite online game.

TF2 is free now(well have been for a while) so id recommend everyone who dosnt have it installed on their computers to install it ASAP! do it nao!

I won't say any classes are easier for beginners, thats asking for trouble, but I think spy is the hardest to master.

If you aren't used to mouse and keyboard controls then you'll probably be better off with a low sensitivity, thats what I found anyway.

Oh and ignore the labels on the game types that say recommended for beginners/advanced players, they aren't really helpful.

Obligatory post in this thread. We need to get together at some point and go pub stomping with MLP sprays. Or at least just spam sprays. Something fun and intuitive.

 

I'll be Medic, since F2P seemingly made him an unpopular choice. I've got +300 hours under my belt as that class alone, which probably means I should go outside more often---or play another class!

I'm usually a scout, go on a suicide mission to see the enemies classes really quick, then use spy.

 

That or I be an engi put a teleporter entrance at spawn then go camp in the middle of the map and put a teleporter, dispenser and sentry down.

 

Or im pyro. Ubered pyros are underrated. Once I got ubered when the whole enemy team was basicly right in front of me. *10 seconds later* only survivor is a spy on fire.

Its usually Pyro for me now as I have a strange flamethrower :3 In fact my favourite hat is a pyro hat, The Brain Slug (Its real name is too long and confusing for me to use).

I don't think a days gone by in a whole year where I haven't played at least one TF2 game, it's so much fun!

I mean, did Team Fortress 2 really need a wedding system? I've always said TF2 was slipping into becoming a tacky "F2P" MMO, but this... this.... I just don't know.

 

Let's see, they made it "F2P", introduced trading, have equipment that levels up, hats with fancy particle effects, and now a wedding system. Before long, they'll remove the servers aspect and have one main sever, and the goal of the game will be to kill mushrooms with :3 faces for cosmetic items.

 

With that said, yesterday, I used a Secret Saxton thing I had laying around on Vicke, and it gave him a Candy Cane, and another Secret Saxton. He used it, and I got a Righteous Bison thing. Didn't even know they could do that.

Anyways, I usually play in Saxton Hale servers, but I also frequent some Pony servers there too. (yes there are some out there Just gotta look) I also go to this one server which is similar to Wario Ware, which the game mode is called TF2 Ware Crazy antics ensue there...

i have been playing tf2 since 2009 and its still my favorite online game to play ^^ but the game became way to easy when all the f2p got there (but i have nothing against f2p players at all) i play for the most part on the stock maps with the least amount of mods.

This is the new item to which King is referring.

 

In the "proposals" I have seen announced, most if not all of them appear to be jokes. For example, an announcement flashed that Frodo had given "One Ring to Rule Them All" (you can name the "engagement" ring) to Gandalf. I laughed pretty hard when I read it.

 

For a joke, though, I'm not willing to pay $100.00 USD. I'm not quite sure what possessed Valve to do this since it is clearly designed to rob you of your money for little other than having a game-wide announcement of the ring being given.
