gaming Chao

I havent seen a post about this yet. Well, does anyone remember or still take care of..chao? From the sonic series? Ive been playing it recently and I do prefer this game over the newer games nowadays.

I am pretty sure most of us love these things. Well I have 9 chao. I currently have all 3 chaos chao, 1 hero, 3 neutrals, and 2 darks. I love them all

I have no experience with Chao's from the first Sonic Adventure, but I did play with them a lot in Adventure 2: Battle. I would always just feed them everything I had. I don't know exactly how it happened, but one time, there was a heaven place in the Chao garden.

I love Chao. I spent more time in the garden than I did in the actual game. (Both SA and SA2) I would say that the SA2 garden was better, but the SA one was still really fun. In SA2, my chao were basically mini Bruce Lees.

Yeah, I remember playing around with those things in Sonic Adventure 2 and 1. They were pretty cute, I hated the minigames you had to play with them though.

I typically hate simulation games except Rollercoaster Tycoon so Chao Garden wasn't my cup of tea. Plus, it's so annoying trying to get all the Sonic Emblems in SA2: Battle because you literally have to keep leveling up your Chao in order to win various Racing and Karate games in order to get them. I just hated going back to the same levels getting Chaos Drives and Animals over and over again.

 

I remember I just needed one more emblem in Chao Karate and I had like a Lv. 50 Power and Stamina Chao ready to go, but then guess what? The little bastard decided to reincarnate himself before the big match. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! Why the hell do they reincarnate?! That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. >.>

 

I gave up. I wasn't ready to level up one single Chao again and I didn't get that Emblem until a few months after. All worth it for that Green Hill Zone level. 8)

Goodness.. Those stuff are cute!! I play the sa2b xbox remake, and i have a few normal chao, one chao that is about to evolve to dark, and uh... How many hero chao did i have ._. Lets just say a ton of 'em. And one Neutral chao.

I love these dudes, they just keep coming back too. My first shot with them was on SADX, where they were pretty awesome but I never really worked out their use other than messing with them and feeding them animals..

The second time was on Sonic Advance 1 and 3, where they are practically useless. although, in 3 you needed the 10 hidden Chao from each level to get the emerald stage to unlock...Which is torture and I still haven't completed, even 7 or so years later!

Then came their decline: Sonic Chronicles, which, while being brilliant, screwed up the Chao thing. Just giving 3 or 4 of them useful abilities and the rest being trashy..

 

I've never, ever played SA2B...I sure as hell want to...I hear there's an Xbox remake, right? ....Christmas = Hells Yesh Chao!

As far as gameplay goes I never was much a fan of the Chao Gardens but there is no doubt in my mind that they are among the most adorable things in all of entertainment media history. It's one of the few facets of the Sonic franchise (huge Sonic fan) that I've both loved and not-so-loved. I love them as characters but the Gardens? Eh, the balance isn't good enough for my tastes. You have to grind a TON to get good Chao and even when you do there's absolutely no way of knowing, definitively, when they will evolve.

I never took care of one myself, but I always remember watching my sister and older cousin play the game when I was around 5 or 6. And I remember seeing them all the time in the games of Sonic they would play. So it does look familiar to me, but a don't know a whole lot about them.

The Chao's the first kind of creatures that found my week spot for cute things.

I remember very well my first contact with them. Day 1 with Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and my GameCube, I was navigating trough the tutorial menu guided by Robo Chao, when you get into the Chao subject on the tutorial he said something like. "Im gonna tell you about chao, everypony loves chao" and I was like "Pfff, yeah everypony and your mother". 2 weeks later I was a loving addicted fan to razing my one and only chaos, and a proud parent of a champion class one.

 

For the taking care part I remember the best way to raise them strong and powerfull was to play Dr. Robotnik stage 1 and kill all the robots there get the color tubes and go back to the garden. In that stage in less than a minute you can get up to 10 of those tubes of the kind you want to raise their stats for the races and competitions.

 

Dont push them too hard because they can die without evolving to the 3rd stage or leaving an egg behind

Now is your chance to play SA2, I just watch it on PSN on a price cut for only $6.99 with other awesome games like Jet set radio. I'll make the call that SA2 is the best 3D sonic out there

I can't remember how much time I put into the Chao Garden ten years ago on Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I've lost the data since then, but I had done so much. Damn was SA2 a great game, one of the best games I've ever played.

Actually both of them are on PSN all the time. Just thought I should mention that. It's just that it's on sale now, it seems. I've played SA2 to the point that I can't hardly play it for longer than five minutes these days. I got it way back when it was pretty new so I've played it for so many years.

Seeing this reminded me that I still need to finish SA2 on XBLA. The last chao I remember 'evolving' was a Hero Fly type, never had a chaos chao.

 

Infact I think I've still got my maxed Hero Swim type on the gamecube version, might have to go check.

Wait wait wait. You have a D in fly yet you spent all that time training your chao to become a flyer? I usually breed the bad ones until they lay eggs, and then murder the parents. Rinse and repeat until you get an A in the class you want.

Me, my brothers, and my friends used to play this all the time. I had a 99 stat everything (angel) Chaos chao and a 99 everything (neutral) Chaos chao. Beasted everything with them.
