What are you Buying your Girlfriend/Boyfriend this Holiday?

Some girls treat this like a test. I know mine will. This is our first Christmas season together. So I've been plotting for a month now.

I'm getting a picnic theme set up for her. I found one of those picnic baskets you see in the old movies with a flap for either side for the lid. Inside is a big checkerboard tablecloth. Two fancy wine glasses one fancy bottle of wine. I don't drink but she will, so I had to get real sneaky to find out what she likes.

The rest is going to be full of little things, like a couple of DVDs she wants, stocking stuffer, things like that.

OK, so what are you getting for your of so special one. Remember she's watching....It may be a test.

I'm a widower, so nothing.

Normally I'd shower her with gifts even if she didn't want them

I always went a little too far with my purchases. Chariot rides, fancy dinners, and what not.

I'm totally not going to get her crap this season.

Because I totally don't have one. ;-;

But If I did, then it would just depend on what she likes and the cost. Though, I'd try to get it no matter the price.

I can already smell me going broke.

Chocolate. Lots and lots of Chocolate. That's what she likes and that's what she gets. Chocolate. And here in New Zealand, there is no shortage of good chocolate. So much chocolate.

I would tell you, but they're sitting right next to me, and they occasionally look over at what I'm doing. Plus they have an account here, too, and that would totally blow it if they found this. LOL.

But it will probably be . . . something.

We exchange gifts on Halloween, it is a holiday we both like and financially things arent as tight as they are during the holiday season when we are shopping for family so we can focus on getting each other nicer presents and not have to worry about breaking budget, and that way when Christmas comes we can focus on getting things for our family

I got him a beginner's sushi kit, a little chthulu plushie, and Transformers Fall of Cybertron for the PS3

I DON'T KNOW! :(

I know what she wants but I can't buy her that.. It's way too expensive for me.. Also it's very expensive to ship things to the other side of earth..

But I... I don't have anyone to get gifts for. T_T

The last one I had, I ended up getting her jewelry for Christmas. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure that was really her type of thing. Oops. D: (Although I did ask her what she wanted, and I must have got the idea from that.)

Considering I have none I guess that would answer you question? If I did though i'd have no idea what to get them, I'm so terrible at thinking of getting gift ideas I swear. I'm going to grow up and if I have children I'm going to be one of those dads who's terrible at buying presents, watch :P.

Have you ever seen those little stickers that people put in the back windshield of their car - the ones that have stick figures showing off who's in their family?

Here's what mine looks like:

Needless to say, I don't have a significant other to buy anything for this year :P

A cheap gift is better then no gift. ;)

DAMN STRAIT IT IS! I mean, yeah... Yup. I agree.

I don't have a boyfriend at the moment, but there's this kid in class whom I like, and I think that he might, possibly, just maybe, like me back. Possibly. If I HAD ANY FREAKING MONEY, I'd probably get him something Minecraft-related, or possibly a new Green Day album, but I'd have to find out which ones he already has.

It seems a lot of people don't have anyone to buy gifts for, as such I can't stand idly by as my fellow forum goer suffers such torture.

Here's an idea, you guys by me books and I'll be your "Special Saomepony" come Christmas! ^_~

What? WHAT?!

I feast on the words of great authors,

Drink the emotions and thoughts of the characters,
And sleep only once I am through with all of the stories.
It's not the ideas that make books relevant,
It's the READERS.

A nice dinner, maybe see a movie, then a stroll down a sandy beach all the while smiles are made and thoughts of love are being created.....then after I do all that I go check out eHarmony to see If I can find a girlfriend.

Check me out! No, seriously, check me out.

3rd christmas together, and i still have trouble getting him gifts. i got him a portable hard drive last year, and a squid hat for his birthday. he always gets a stocking full of candy (were chocolate addicts :P ) and this year i got him a USB hub and a leather newsboy cap and a pink floyd shirt he didnt already have (difficult!). i try to pick meaningful things, but hes so practical and silly its kinda hard. anything cthulhu is always a winner though.

he always gets me great things... except that snuggie-onesie thing for valentines day ><* WTheck. it made me cry in the bad way :/ but a got a knitted cat hat for christmas last year <3 it goes wonderful with my eskimo coat <3 when i used to play WoW, i got potion bottle earrings and a hearthstone necklace...for when i get homesick. hes the best. :3

Was planning to buy my girl some new fancy clothes, but I figured she wouldn't appreciate it when I already did the same thing last year... Maybe some plushies?

I still have a whole month to prepare things up, maybe I'll just buy her some shiny-looking things that is on sale if I'm desperate :o

ask her for a list of stuff. Don't guess. She'll get what she wants and she will be happy.

guys who guess never pass the test.

Make it a date. take her out to dinner and give her a small note pad. she will fill that out in no time.

Girls are not shy when it comes to making a gift list.

You know that kinda kills the surprise factor, right? :x

Besides, if I let her make a list and get her hopes up high, it will only ends in disappointment unless I can afford everything.

Depends on the gal. You could get sneaky and call her mom for help. I've done that before.

Her friends are another good resource.
