omg INSTAGRAM!

...forgive me if there is already an instagram topic but i didn't see it...

 

So I received an iPhone as a Christmas gift and (of course) immediately had to try out all of the new fancy apps that I couldn't use on my previous old non-fancy-smartphone. I LOVE that they have a tumblr app... anyone use that? The biggest reason I never post on my tumblr is I just dont think about it while im on my laptop. Well now there is an app for it, yay!

 

I also tried the flickr app, the facebook app, and others, but my favorite so far is definitely without question instagram. It's totally addictive! I don't understand the hype about "oh well instagram sucks because you're not really taking quality photos. It's like cheating." I mean ok, I DO understand where that argument comes from, but I don't really care. The best part for me is following what my friends and family are deciding to take photos of. It's fascinating! For example, my brother takes 90% of his photos of his dog, and his wife is constantly posting photos of the things she makes for dinner, while my cousin is always taking pictures of her brothers, and my coworker post pictures from the bars he goes to. Its crazy! So, that is the best part for me. Seeing what people decide is or isn't photo worthy. The subject matter if their photos, not the photos themselves. I love it.

I may not have an iPhone like you (congrats on that by the way, I've always wanted one. ) but I do have an android, and I know what you mean by "Instagram is Addicting".

I'm not a fan of any image posting, to be honest, except nature shots and the like. I don't care what you ate for dinner, so I'm not gonna look.

I'm the same with all social media...I just really don't care if you're walking your dog. I don't need you to tweet every two minutes about it.

I like the "old school" methods, I suppose.

I live in the technological world, and I have never used Instagram. My friends use Instagram and I don't think I could ever post pictures of myself on the internet. I have even stopped using Facebook because it's boring to me now. So, I'm with Nicolas Cage on this one.

It's stupid in my opinion. I didn't even make an account and I saw a shit-ton of people with pictures of food and them in the mirror.

And so many celebrities are on there just posting random crap and getting tons of likes.

10k+ likes if a celebrity posts one thing. .-. Srsly?

We already have facebook (which is also dumb). So what's the point? You can post pictures there. :/

And I don't use Instagram because I'm not really a fan of image posting/social networking.

So I pretty much stick to forums and IM apps.

Nope, I don't have one, and I'm fine with that. I just can't bring myself to care about people's pictures of themselves and what not. It just seems like a place to brag about how "professional" there pictures look. Fill me in if I'm wrong. If you enjoy it, then good for you.

I have no problem with Instagram. That being said, I really fucking hate strongly dislike when people call themselves a photographer because they can apply a filter to a picture they just took on their crappy Iphone camera. Just please, for the love of Celestia, don't turn into one of those "Ehermergerd follow me on Inshtagram Imma photographer" people.
